What a pleasant surprise! Lunches at $8. Walleye, at that. There were three large pieces of fish and two sides. We can't get anything near that on the great lakes where they catch those fish. The surroundings were pleasant and clean. I just wish it were closer so we could eat there often.

Very good ice cream, worthy of being considered a boutique shop. Old fashioned, homemade ice cream joint the way it should be.

Joe and Maureena have put their heart and souls into bringing a great little coffee bar to Highland and now to Breese, IL as well. They have a wide selection of coffees and are adding new drink items as well as some local pastry. Staff is always friendly and helpful and Sutton even plays in a local bluegrass band.
Stop in and support these entrepreneurs as they live the dream!

Have been here numerous times for breakfast, even with a large group we have always been seated and served promptly. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Never had a breakfast item I didn't like. Lunch is good too, stuffed tomato (in season only) is excellent and soups taste homemade. All meats are locally purchased so they are fresh and tasty.

This coffee shop is a nice addition to Highland. I ordered a regular tall coffee, but there were many flavors and sizes of coffee to choose from; very similar to a small Starbucks! I think more advertising is needed to draw more people in, but stop by first thing in the morning for your coffee, and you won't be disappointed. A delicious cup of coffee for nice beginning to a busy day!

We came here for Mother's Day expecting a family-style meal. Neither their website nor their facebook page indicated that only the buffet would be available on Mother's Day for lunch, but that was the case. The waitress didn't even make it clear until I asked about items on their chalkboard menu. That's when she said buffet only.
We were seated in the main part of the restaurant away from the buffet. The two areas are connected by a narrow hallway on a fairly steep slant. People coming through this space with full plates and wait staff trying to move through quickly made it a bad floor plan. When you get into the buffet area, they had the clean plates set out right by the door that some of the staff go in & out of. As we're standing in line just trying to get a plate, they come flying out the door. The buffet area is hectic. Three separate sections with different foods meant people weren't necessarily staying in line. There were people going every which way, cutting in to get food they wanted. It was crazy trying to get out of that area and back to our table. Then having to go back through that narrow hallway when no one, including the staff, wanted to wait and let you through.
The one good thing was the food, it was excellent, but I don't know if the experience getting it was worth it. One thing I know for sure wasn't worth it was the expense. Almost $60 for three of us, and that only included one soda. No buffet, regardless of how good the food is, is worth that much. I'd rather go to McDonald's than pay that much.
Our waitress was pretty absent. She did refill my drink once, but would never take my empty plate. She even grabbed two other plates from our table, but left mine. Aside from the good tasting food, it was too much of a pain dealing with the buffet and the cost alone will keep us from coming back. I have to factor those last two cons into my review, not to mention the inattentive waitress; hence the poor rating. Good food can only take you so far.

Stopped in on a Friday night. Nice beer selection and the service was very good. They also had a good band outside. But the food was nothing special. My muffaleta was all bread with very little meat and olive tapenade. The etouffee my friend had was good. But that was one out of four good meals. I'd come again for drinks but not to eat.

Broadway Bar and Grill is our favorite restaurant in Highland - it has really good food and a ton of variety - there is ALWAYS something for us on their menu or among their specials. Even the pizza is excellent (ask for 'no fennel' unless you like that flavor).

Legendary in the Highland area. Pizza's are great! Lots of delicious sides as well. Service is always prompt and their beer selection is vast!

Love the lunch buffet, good salad choices, pizza, pasta, toasted ravioli and more. The delish new cinnamon drops/bites are a must eat. I could probably eat the entire tray they are so yummy. The pizza sauce is the perfect sweet sauce, not too sweet just right. Make sure you get a lunch buffet punch card too.
