Hewlett is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in Nassau County, New York on the South Shore of Long Island. As of the United States 2010 Census, the CDP population was 6,819. Hewlett Bay Park and Hewlett Harbor consist of many mansions and harbor villas with very large property, a few dating back to the time of the American Revolution. This area, like Back/Old Lawrence is unique because its rural affluence is similar in character to the more well known Gold Coast of the North Shore instead of being more urbanized like the rest of the South Shore of Nassau County.

Their pizza is okay, but their pasta dishes are all good. Their Italian entrees are also good, but the portions are small for the price. Love their gorgonzola salad. I have brought many a friend here, when we didn't want to spend a lot for dinner, and they have all been happy and even requested return trips.

This is the old time bakery you grew up with and there aren't many like it left. Everything is baked on premises and is excellent. If you remember the Leon's and Butterbun bakeries in Brooklyn, you know that this is the big leagues. We know that if this establishment ever closes, it can never be replaced. They have many specialties bu a long time favorite is their Philly fluff. On holidays, the lines may be a bit long, but you get to inhale the addicting aroma of fresh baked bread, pies and pastries..

Bigelow's has been here forever, and is virtually unchanged !
The fried soft-bellied clams are KILLER, the best anywhere. The onion rings and fries are freshly made and perfect. Chowder is wonderful. Service is fast and super attentive with servers asking often if everything is to customer liking.
Not super cheap, but great seafood isn't. Good value can be had by ordering half portions or appetizers which are HUGE.
Ambience is lunch counter, but the seafood is Haut Cuisine.

Adequate parking, reservations required , pleasant staff.
Invited by friends to try this local establishment on a Saturday evening.
Nice menu with assorted entrees, appetizers, salads and desserts.
We felt that most of what was ordered was very bland and just did not have that zio in the gravies ./My pork chop was excessively dry and one of the pasts a dishes was not exactly what was ordered.
The Tartuffo was great !!!

We always bring cakes and pastries from Whistle Stop to every party we are invited to. It's the only gourmet bake shop I would consider patronizing in Nassau County. Their prices are always good, the service is always fantastic and their food is the best.

If you're just in need of a quick cup, need a spot for a for a meeting or a place to take some friends to for some catching up, this is the place to go. The service is always friendly, the baked good are outrageous and when there I found out they even have trivia night on occasion. I've been a few times and always had a good experience.

We stumbled upon this place visiting friends and were blow away by how quaint the atmosphere was and how incredibly accommodating the owner and his staff were. Our child has food allergies and they stopped to give us their undivided attention to make sure she could order the flavor she wanted. The owner came out to get us untouched containers from the back. He went above and beyond and gained very loyal customers. Plus the ice cream was amazing and the place is adorable.

Lucky Boy Restaurant has served The 5 Towns in the South Shore of Long Island and surrounding areas for over 30 years. From authentic Greek-Mediterranean cuisine to American classics and everything in between. Leave room for our homemade cakes, pastries and tarts that are the talk of the county! Also try our other restaurant Yiasou Cafe, which is located in Sullivan County, NY.
Five of us came here for a birthday celebration. Although there is not much ambiance or parking , this place makes up for it in friendliness and yumminess! I highly recommend the stuffed eggplant and any of their desserts. There aren't many tables and it can be a bit of a tight squeeze but it is worth it!

I had never been to Itgen's legendary Ice Cream Parlour before, so I was totally looking forward to it. As excited as I was, that's how disappointed I became. I am so sorry, but I cannot pretend this place was clean. It was blatantly filthy. From the old grease spots on the menu to the decomposing floor, I did not have the heart or stomach to eat here. Not willing to disappoint my companion, I ordered an ice tea and feigned a stomach ache. The ice cream parlous offers soda fountain food and ice cream. there is an old grill with a grill man in attendance. There are barely high school girls waiting on and bussing the tables. The place opened in 1960 and I, personally do not think it's been cleaned since then. We left quickly, I will not return.
