We stayed in Hermigua, so the restaurant was a short walk from our place. We saved having dinner at the restaurant for our last evening in La Gomera. i can't say that the dinner was particularly memorable, but we weren't disappointed with the main course. However, the dessert was disappointing. Minimal, to say the least. And having a cup of coffee together with dessert would have made the experience more positive. Coffee and tea came long after. There was a group of 10 or 12 next to us, maybe the waiters were more interested in impressing them?

I expected much more from a restaurant like this. There was neither music nor WiFi. No salt and pepper on the table. The service seemed to be stressed and not very friendly. White wine "blanco afrutado" was only by bottle; they have forgotten my starter; the desert was with red fruits instead of advertised fig confit and typical "Gomeran" biscuit... The food was mediocre, the prices for the portions rather high. An experience I don't have to repeat.

Don't be put off by the rather unprepossessing exterior as this restaurant really is worth a visit. Lunching here on a pretty shady Terrace was a very nice, relaxing experience. Friendly staff and good food - we enjoyed watercress soup, and for mains, steak and...MoreHi KempstonJan, thank you for your opinion and your recommendation. This is very popular seafood restaurant. We were lucky to get the last free table, because we didn't have a reservation. Atmosphere is cheerful and warm. There were big parties having dinner. Some fish from the fresh fish list were sold out. Menu and fish list are also in english so we managed there wery well despite of language barrier. We had clams, aubergine, tuna and sea bass and everything was really delicious. Definately a worth of visit.

Canario , Mediterráneo y tradicional con productos de las islas y a ser posibles gomeros de temporada
Enjoyed our meal at Las Chacaras. Had grilled goats cheese to begin. Then hubby had Carne Fiesta and I had goat - both excellent. Had a chocolate dessert to finish. House red very good - as previous reviewers stated - out of barrels from Tenerife. All extremely tasty. Reasonably priced for just under 35 Euros.

This cafe serves rustic food in the most stunning location. The owner does everything from the cooking, serving and the bills. The watercress soup is served in a wooden ladel, a massive portion with bread. We had meat with potatoes (and carrot), simple but tasty. The views are stunning.

Above all, the Gomeran fish casserole. The excellent surrounding sea, its unique crops and characteristic manners are its gastronomy’s main ingredients - simple and tasty. Traditional dishes include watercress soup, ‘almogrote’ (cheese paste), boiled blennies and caramelized milk with palm syrup.
Visited for a Birthday meal for my husband. Staff generally unfriendly. Service rushed. Atmosphere lifeless. Food presented in a 1980's fruit with everything way, under seasoned, over rich and not worth the prices - complex but just not very nice. Very disappointed. We left food on our plates every course and no one asked if we enjoyed it or not.

Arrived on the island mid afternoon, siesta time! The owner was more than happy to serve me a hot meal even though they were nearly ready to close for siesta. The seafood was amazing, the salad one of the freshest I've eaten in a long time. Even more of a bonus it's opposite my hotel.

Vallehermosa doesn t seem to have too many eating places but la tasca offers good value meals at a good price. The service is very efficient and friendly. Portions are generous but an additional mixed salad was very welcome. With not much choice on offer it is certainly reassuring to know that there are good options.
