Get the breakfast potatoes. I've been here numerous times and now I'm a tater expert. Seriously out of this world. Pancakes are amazing. I ordered an omelet which was fresh and hot. Cooked perfectly! The breakfast potatoes- mmmmm! Service was top notch and food amazing. LOVE THIS PLACE!

I hate to be the first to give them a 3, but I wasn't impressed. I did like the tin ceiling, subway tile & retro feel to the decor, but in the end it's all about the ice cream, and all four of us said the ice cream was just average.

After reading some of the reviews about this place I had to stop in and check it out myself. I just love little coffee shops this one I would say is pretty good lots of flavor choices too.
The girl behind the counter very helpful in helping me decide on my iced coffee for the day. (Wish I would've gotten her name) I went with the Smore's which is really really yummy :)
I definitely will go back next time in Hayward.

Don't bother going to the Hayward bakery anymore. Stood in line at 8:00 am on a Saturday only to find the shelves empty! What? The woman waiting on me was Asian and did not speak English very well. When would there be more of anything I asked? Two hours she said. Since I was staying 40 minutes from town I asked to reserve some items. Then she said "Maybe Monday". What? I asked if she could go in back and see when there would be more of the bread I wanted available. No I was told, she was not allowed in back. I walked out along with about 15 others, disgusted and empty handed....sigh.

Homemade Italian cuisine served in a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Although we don't get to Italia as often as we'd like, we are never disappointed. The owners, Lisa & Rick, treat us as old friends. I always start at their quaint bar with a Limoncello Martini--yum! Entrees are fresh & delicious, but please leave room for dessert Tiramisu & Limoncello Torte are my favorites. We love having this dining option!

This place continues to amaze! In a tourist town that dries up several times a year, Anglers continues to remain open seven days a week, year-round. Although we weren’t lucky enough to get super-waitress Dixie, our college-age server did “ok.” Cold beer, great sandwich & fries, the owners have worked hard to build this successful business. I always say I've never had a bad meal at Anglers. Can’t say that about many restaurants, including those in Hayward that charge two-to-three times as much for a meal. AND, it’s the only true patio dining on Main Street. Great people-watching.

This working farm cafe is located about 20 minutes east of Hayward, Wisconsin and might best be described as a developing dream-in-progress. Owners are clearly committed to implementing a sustainable cuisine with a developing community/arts environment. The cafe is small- seats about 8 on the first floor and about 20 tightly above on a second level. On a nice summer day I suspect could get crowded quickly and best consider taking meal al fresco. The kitchen turns out light luncheon fair with the emphasis on fresh, and local. A grilled cheese/pesto sandwich was entirely "home made" and quite tasty with a garden based soup as side. Breads were flavorful and robust with a nice chew. A kale salad was light and fresh with an understated dressing. Coffee was a french press brought to the table. If there is a specialty, it's a wide selection of artisan gelato that is a perfect balance of flavors and milk fat content- a creamier mouth-feel than most. Dinners and weekends during summer are offering a diverse menu of local meats and brick oven pizza, local poetry and music. The kitchen is small- Expect to wait and converse and pay organic prices, not McDonalds. Talked with one of the owners who says future includes local cheese and aquaculture. Worth the circuitous trip through the pine woods for a light fresh meal.

Hayward Family Restaurant has an extensive breakfast and lunch menu featuring daily specials, homemade soups, Friday walleye fish fry, and special selections for children and senior citizens. Breakfast is served all day long. This menu features a wide variety of omelets, Belgium waffles, pancakes, skillets and French toast along with your standard breakfast fare. The lunch selection features wraps, sandwiches, salads, stir fry, char broiled burgers, and a number of home style favorites including BBQ ribs, fried chicken, pork chops, sirloin steak and shrimp. The portions are very generous and the prices are sure to fit within any budget.
Family friendly atmosphere but the best kept secret are their omelettes. I had the spinach with feta, and My husband had the cheddar cheese and ham. Both came with hash browns and toast. Endless cups of coffee were served, and the casual atmosphere was relaxing. Clean and cozy. They serve lunch also in a cafe atmosphere.

The pie at Norske Nook is always good no matter what the selections are the day you go. The pork meatball I ordered this time was excellent--perfect texture. The mashed potatoes and gravy alongside were also just right--not too sweet and sour like Swedish meatballs can sometimes be.
