Think of your average small town diner - and you get Maggies Once More. Although we had hoped for more...nope...just your standard burgers and fries. "Grilled Chicken" sandwich was made with bits of processed chicken. Tasted good enough though. French fries were hot, but cut apparently from an albino potato-because they were still white as snow.
Tonopah has better dining options (and that is a really low bar)

We spent the night in town and left early AM. Our motel did not offer coffee, so I cruised the town looking for some. Found Mr. Beane's and stopped in. The young lady had just opened and the coffee was still brewing. We engaged in pleasant conversation until it was ready. I left satisfied.

We went here with limited options in Hawthorn & good reviews. The owners made us feel really welcome offering us pitchers of beer whisky we waited for our freshly baked pizza. We took ours away & has massive tubs of free ranch sauce. We ordered two but only really needs one! So filling & really tasted. If I was ever passing again I would go back!

My rating is actually three and a half stars. From the outside this restaurant is nondescript and the interior is much the same. I'm guessing that most of their business is take out. Nonetheless my meal was quite good. I had spring rolls, pork chow mein and fried rice. It was fresh, flavorful, not at all greasy and a bargain at $7.99 for everything. If you are driving through town and have a hankering for Chinese food it's definitely worth a stop.

I really like the pizza, particularly with white sauce instead if regular pizza sauce. The crust is very good when not over-baked. Toppings are usually decent. Today I saw that the pizzas coming out were far overdone. The crusts were dark brown. I asked for mine to be pulled out "early" and it was perfect. I would have been upset to receive a pizza with almost burned crust. The toppings were applied a bit unevenly. While this isn't a big deal, it speaks to the care that is being taken to get things right. The workers need to do a better job with quality control. Coupons are helpful. The pizza is rather expensive otherwise.

Only other option in town is the Cassino which looked pretty bad. Our Inn Keeper said Diego's was clean and decent food and this was an accurate assessment. Absolutely nothing exceptional, but in Hawthorne you're lucky to find anything still open. It's almost a ghost town.

This was our 2nd time here. While our burgers and fries were hot, the onion rings on our ranch burgers were really soggy and the ranch dip very runny. Although the staff was friendly, there was only one waitress, so service was a bit slow. We also reaked of cigarette smoke from the casino and had to shower when we got back to our motel. There's not a lot of restaurant choices in Hawthorne, but we will be exploring those options on our next visit.

I've been staying in Hawthorne weekly for work and have tried every restaurant in town. I didn't try a hamburger at all of those, but Pepper's probably has the best. Not the best hamburger ever, or the best hamburger in a podunk little Nevada town, but the best in Hawthorne. The wasabi jalapeno burger and similar chicken sandwich are good, but the wasabi was not very strong. Easily preferable to McD's in terms of food and location.
This is a snack trailer, not a restaurant, so there are no tables or toilets.

Small friendly bistro with great sandwiches, friendly service, and reasonable prices. Sit in the front area with a view of the street or enjoy a little seclusion in the back. Owners respect the right to bear arms.

I can't believe I am actually rating a McDonald's but my experience here compels me to submit a review.
Service is slow. The locals say the service is slow. It's slow. Painfully and unnecessarily slow. Agonizingly slow.
Did I mention the service is slow?
Prepare to wait a while.
