Tired after a long journey I decided to have dinner at this restaurant just a few minutes walking from my hotel. I had been looking at the menu beforehand and the sweetbread looked mouthwatering.
I arrived at the restaurant but unfortunately I was told there was no place because I did not make a reservation.
I explained that I only wanted to order a main course " the sweetbread" so the staff was so kind to organise a table for me knowing that I would not be there for a very long time.
The sweetbread was fantastic served with spinach and different mushrooms in a superb sauce and topped with a thin layer of foie gras so yammie.
It was so extremely kind of the staff to fit me in anyway. great service great place great food.

Tucked away just behind the Grote Markt a pleasant setting with attentive staff. Food was good, reasonably priced and well presented. Definitely worth a visit and being off the main tourist trail is a plus.

We stopped for lunch on our way to France and told the staff we could only spare 90 min, so they proposed us a nice lunch with cod for starters and then chicken. The food was excellent with very fresh products. We got several small bites with our apero cocktail, and then had the proposed glass of wine to go with the dishes.
The settings is very minimalistic, we were lucky to sit outside. Service was very friendly and perfect. A bit on the expensive side.

Banmolens, Track75, Mart and (perhaps) Bord'eau are competing in Harelbeke within this category of 'better affordable brasserie or bistro'. Muyzelmolen belonging to the other category of gastronomic retaurants, these four all have their advantages and disadvantages, stronger and weaker points, but they all deserve our regular visit.
Mart has made the strongest impression on us lately by its warm welcome, efficient service, excellent food and great quality/price ratio. Keep up the good work!

It has been two years already since my last review of this place. We keep going, mainly on Sunday evenings. A tradition in the family. The list of pizzas is impressive and the tastes are surprising. Two suggestions: some regular staff members are excellent and super-friendly, other - less regular - members should receive some more training in customer satisfaction. Secondly, we would like to see a 'Special of the day' of 'Special of the week'. As a surprise for frequent visitors. Special in food and in price.

If you are in for authentic Flemish food this is the place to be. Nicely restored building in a very narrow street of a tiny village near Kortrijk, sober interior decoration and beautiful garden (with plenty of outdoor games for the children). Excellent price-quality ratio. Friendly staff and efficient service.
Two remarks on the downside: due to the shape of the ceiling, there is a serious acoustic problem in the dining room, but we heard that the owners were planning to fix this problem. Secondly, it took one hour between first and second course. It was a very busy day at this restaurant, but a Plat du Jour should always be prepared in advance, so that it can be served on the fly.
Altogether: so much nicer and better than arrogant Daan a couple of houses down the road ...

The restaurant is located in an restored Railway Station, which is very impressive when you're in front of the building! Inside, the decoration is more contemporary and cosy. Our motto is 'honest food, served with a smile'! During the summer, you can enjoy a drink / lunch / dinner on our Terrace.
A year ago, when we wrote our first review report on this restaurant, we had the impression that the owners didn't care. We did not feel welcome. Well, this has changed. The interior decoration is improving, the service is warm, welcoming and efficient, the house wine more than acceptable and the food is getting decent.
Keep on the good work! Just another hint for improvement: loud clients hanging at the counter of the bar, ventilating their latest political opinions and jokes in the local dialect (which in other circumstances I like very much), conflict with the quaint, cozy, stylish, artistic, authentic, quiet, quirky, private stetting of the mezzanine-level restaurant and disturb the conversation at our table.
Dear owners and staff, continue to rethink the scenario from the customers' point of view. Just ask them.

Since our previous report, we have been visiting this place quite regularly, let's say twice a month on average. We stick to our first opinion. Only: the kitchen and the service are still making progress. Excellent price/quality report. Never have we seen such a flexibility and adaptability to the clients' wishes and preferences. Best lunch menu in the region.
Well, while I am it, just for fun: service can reach perfection if upon serving dishes or drinks you don't ask - interrupting a mostly interesting and engaging conversation - : ' and who ordered the ...'? Most people don't remember what they ordered - making them feel ignorant or suffering from dementia, and it doesn't cost anything neither to write down - or remember - the clients' choice. See my reports on Faro Belén in Concepción and the Zeester in Antwerp.

L'improviste By David, Bistronomie & TeaLounge Little known, the concept "Bistronomie" is a transposition of gourmet cuisine presented in a simpler way as in a brewery. Het nog weinig gekende concept "Bistronomie" brengt de gastronomische keuken op een eenvoudige manier. TASTE OF THE DAY! From gastronomy to the Bistro through its TeaLounge, not to mention all the suggestions of David. Products of quality, finely worked. Every new season, I would suggest a new card, you could come to taste it entirely on the first Friday night of the new season in the form of walking diner.
Our experience in the restaurant 'David Selen' proves that for some chefs it doesn't matter if you come with a voucher or not - We did have bad restaurant visits with vouchers... - , you are treated like a king or queen anyway. We stayed there to enjoy the wonderful meal, to sleep in the great B & B and to delight in a gorgeous breakfast. The service was absolutely to our satisfaction. And yes, chef David Selen came to shake our hand. Did this add anything to the surprising supper we had? I must admit, no, but it counted up to the warm welcome we had from the beginning. And the end, our breakfast, was AMAZING! Who can tell he had a slice of 'truffle' in his champagne as a birthday present? Thanks for this stunning gourmet indulgence!
