You note that the chef from De Bokkepruik is very experienced and is a founding father of the Dutch haute cuisine. We had the full memu and all dishes we had, had an extreme high taste level and were made from pure ingredients. A bit unfortunate that the goose liver was forgotten in the goose liver dish however. Very nice selection of wines. The staff asks after every dish if it was tasty. That is not necessary because if it wasn't taste we would not have finished it. The price quality ratio is perfect. We also stayed at the hotel and I do recognise some of the comments made in other reviews but the price per night is not very high and hence the rooms are perfect to crash after such a nice diner. The carefully prepared breakfast completed our very nice stay in Hardenberg.

This restaurant was recommended by our gracious host at The Rheezer Kamer, our wonderful B&B. Had a lovely bike-ride over. Initially were taken aback a little upon entering; with the 'pannenkoekenhuis' in the same entrance, it feels very touristy and run-of-the-mill.
However, once you enter the restaurant this feeling vanishes; especially if the weather is as wonderful as during our visit. The walled garden is really very nice.
Then: the food! Actually we were surprised at the creativity and high standard. And: when as a vegetarian I mentioned I wasn't too keen on the veggie alternatives on the menu immediately there was a small consultation with the kitchen and I got a wonderful piece of freshly smoked salmon which wasn't (yet) on the menu.
Dessert, again, was a feast for the eye, ánd mouth.
We left as two very happy customers.
(I've got some nice pictures, can't see how to upload them yet but will try as they give a good idea of the wonderful dishes)

On the waterfront. Good food. Excellent service. Perfect settings for long summer nights. The desert combination is to die for!!!

Homey and cosey restaurant / grill, situated directly on the water of the river "De Vecht", with beautifull Terrace on the riverbanks. The menu serves lots of steaks, burgers & ribs of good quality for decent prices. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, with much attention to music. Especially for groups and parties this location is perfect, but also for a romantic dinner for 2!
The food was oke, but the service is terrible... The ober was chaotic, most of them actually... You have to wait to ask something, almost feeling like leave your chair to get your service. They have to re-manage the employees. Not really professional service guys...

We tried out Janneman's based on other review comments, and were not disappointed. My wife had a burger and remarked how tasty and lean the beef was, while I had a full rack of spare ribs - a generous helping. The staff were very attentive and helpful, helping us with the Dutch menu and explaining the different sauce options. The total, with a couple of beers was only 33 Euros - excellent value.
There is a large car park right next to the restaurant, which is actually in the entrance lobby of the Voorveghter theatre and easy to find. Highly recommended.

After 15 years of restaurant experience (during which we thought we had seen it all) this experience really topped it all. We had dinner with 3 kids and first they forget one of the Kids menu's. We were offered a beer for free but after 45 min and after being asked if we wanted desert, we told them our main course still hadn't arrived. 30 minutes later we were offered free coffee and free ice cream but afer another 20 min we finally got our penne pasta - ordinarily OK but not worth a wait of 1,5 hours. Therefore, think again before you go hete even if it's the only place in town.

Enjoy nature around you, in the famous Priona Gardens, and on your plate, in the culinary creations of former 2-Michelinstar chef Alwin Leemhuis. The restaurant is situated in a former industrial glasshouse in the middle of the Gardens and has a Terrace next to the wildlife pond.
The location is worth a visit by itself, an amazing array of different Gardens in the wild style of the 20th century "Dutch wave". The chef , Alwin Leemhuis, is cooking with organic ingredients from the garden and other local sources. The results are pure and very refined. Friendly and kowledgable service offering exellent wine pairings. Only open in summer weekends and very much worth a detour!
