This is legendary grill / burger place in the Historical city Hamina. Most legendary portion for this fast food grill is "Makkaraperunat", which is consists of fried potatoes, fried sausage pieces, and full range of salad and vegetables of your choise. People come to eat here from near by cities. Food is mainly picked up by Drive-In style. Also inside pickup counter is available, especially for those whose find themselves hungry after night or day in the city.
Their signature dish is at least the "lihapiirakka", a piece of pastry with minced meat inside. The tradition around here is to steam it and put in sausages, ham and so on. Steaming the pastry doesn't sound that promising at first but actually it keeps the pastry's texture just perfect. Good stuff!

A summer season restaurant of a yachting club, me and my family were a bit unsure what to expect when we visited restaurant Vantti, which is situated on the small island of Pikku Vuohisaari off Tervasaari harbour. But after ringing the clock on the dock, it took only 30 seconds for the boat to come over to fetch us. The pavilion building is nice, with a view to the Hamina sound. What was best was the food, because in Hamina there are not really any good places to eat. Great, no-nonse fish dishes, prepared of fresh ingredients! Prices were inexpensive for Finnish standards. If only the salad table and the wine list had been a bit better, the meal would have near perfect. One more point: as the number of guests seems to vary a lot, they keep only one waitress. She was very helpful and agreeable, but prepare to have to wait a while before she finds your table again.

The restaurant was very charming and service really friendly. The food was just amazing. We ate perfectly cooked fillets with excellent side dishes. I am not giving 5 * because something was missing. I had a feeling it was quite new restaurant and needs little improvement. Had to wait the food 45 minutes and there was only few customers before us already ordered / ate their dinner. But I really recommend this place for dinner. Beautiful place.

Kaneli is very easy to find in Hamina, since it's right in the middle of everything, in the historical town hall building! It's charming on the inside with its rustic theme, but the Terrace is the best place to be in summer time: you can just sit back and admire the sights around you, all summer events taking place around you, the St John's church, old wooden houses with shops and bits of the Bastion! Around noon the Terrace is nice and shady, but later in the day it has direct sunlight - you might want to have a table under the parasols!
The cafe has a mouth-watering selection of fresh cakes, pastries and savory delicacies and you eat with your eyes at the counter! Everything tastes wonderful and seems close to home made. The only downside is there's absolutely no gluten/wheat free items available, apart from a salad. That shouldn't be too big a problem when you have a freezer...
Kaneli is usually only open till 6pm (Hamina is a really small place after all), but if you're in town during some big event, they seem to stay open later.

Besides ala carte menu traditional buffets are rather popular. Rather popular place among domectic and workers to take a cup of coffer or day meal. Average.

Pitkat Hiekat Restaurant (seating capacity 120). You can enjoy best dishes of our A la Carte menu every day from 12:00 till 21:00.
Viime vuonna erittäin laadukas ruokaravintola, nyt matkalla juottolaksi -- hidas ja tympeä palvelu, haaleaa huoltoasemaruokaa hämäävillä hienoilla nimillä. Syömäkelvottomiksi poltetut alkupalat (9,50) tuotiin pääruoan jälkeen, aikuisten ruoat ennen lasten ruokia, puolet ruoista kymmenen minuuttia muiden jälkeen. Yksi kylmä annos piti tehdä uusiksi. Vuohenjuusto purilaisessa mauttomia valmiskuutioita. Ei mitään hyvitystä laskussa, pienet väkinäiset pahoittelut kesätyöntekijöiltä.
Plussaa: Kaljan myynti känniläisille lounasaikaan näkyy sujuvan hienosti!

Tyypillinen kebab-pizzeria tuote valikoima. pizzaa, kebabeja. (jotain erilaisuutta kaipaisi, että erottuisi muista vastaavista paikoista). Palvelu ystävällistä ja nopeaa. Annokset reiluja, pizza tyypillinen kebabpaikkojen pizza. Ravintolassa B-oikeudet.

If you are looking for a comfortable restaurant&cafe with friendly service, good food and very decent prices, Jaspis is the one.
Jaspis is located in one of the oldest wooden houses of Hamina - and there is a nice playground for kids just across the street. Finding parking is also no problem: there is parking right in front of the restaurant.
Please note: Jaspis only accepts cash. (Which is uncommon in Finland.)

Cellar restaurant located in center of Hamina
Good food for fair prices. The owners are very friendly and food choise is ok. Good wines for reasonable prices ... I took a red wine (punaviini) from Sicilian ... recommended !!! I'll certainly be back!

I have heard a several good reviews of this place and I was very interested to have change to taste their goods.
Timing was not the best possible one just before they were closing, but even so the selection was really poor, only few different pastries on the display.
Anyway we tasted three different products which were all very medicore. Do they even use real cream?
Go there if you have to, but don't expect too much.
