La Terrasse is located in a small typical town called Gryon. We serve specialities from the region mostly Swiss and French gastronomy. The restaurant have a very comfortable Terrace with a beautiful view over the Alps Mountains. The owner, Mr. Sabir Ahmeti and his staff will be very glad and pleased to receive you.
This wasn't the first time we went for lunch at La Terrasse, but again found it was an excellent place for a quiet family lunch, with a nice atmosphere, good food, nice wine, and friendly service. If you're spending time in the Villars area, this is definitely a place to go to.

The Restaurant is where the Cookie story began. December 2008 started off with the opening of a restaurant in Gryon, on your way to Alpe des Chaux and Solalex, that was trying something different to what was done at the time in the Swiss Alps. Cookie Restaurant, through the hand of David and his team, estabilished itself as the de-facto eating space in the Villars-Gryon area. After a 2 year hiatus from 2013 until 2015, and true to its roots, the restaurant has re-opened with Chef Enzo Gallego allowing customers to leave comments such as "the cuisson du poisson était magique!". Lunch or dinner, come and sample some the Alps' finest cuisine.
After the accidental death of the previous dynamic owner Dave from Australia the Cookie restaurants story continues now with Max, originally from New York, and his chef Frederic. Judging our first dinner it looks quite promising. Quite interesting menu from which we chose as starters a curry crab and a lentil salad. The curry crab with pasta was spicey and delicious. It would even make a great main dish if a slightly bigger portion. The lentil salad was equally good. Ostrich steak as main dish. A bit too red whilst I ordered medium, the meat was good. Very good and ample sauce. As well as a side of mousseline with mushrooms. The wine list is interesting and reasonably priced. As are the dishes. Good coffee. The restaurant is still the same and cosy as before. Service is very friendly and efficient. Great food and ambiance.

Fruit and vegetables, fishes and meats, Swiss and international fine wines, cakes and cooked meats, our Chef makes you share marvellous and unique recipes, combining the naturalness of the produce and the refinement of his expertise. Passing by Bex on my way to the Mountains, i first noticed the terasse and wanted to have a coffee.
Looking at the menu i descidet to extend my "stay" at Le Café Suisse...
It was an amaising experience. Living in the Geneva région, Bex is not my usual place to go for dinner.
All the food was amaisingly presented, and each plates were suprising. i really enjoyed my food and the service is excellent.

What a superb meal with creative combinations, subtle flavors, and traditional elements all with the added pleasure of friendly service with no bad attitude! The fondue is excellent and the kitchen accommodated easily some of our requests. The dessert was a marvelous concoction of chocolate balanced with toasty nut flavor and a delicious cream. We are coming back!

We ate in this restaurant three nights as a group while touring Switzerland. The chef has a reputation for embellishing the dishes, we were told with herbs, but I am not convinced as one looked like a thistle and another one I had seen growing on the roadside. I think it is a habit he should drop as it did not add to the dish and a lot of them were left in flower vases on the table. That said, the food we had was fairly good although presumably it was a set menu. I can highly recommend the salad buffet though and would have been happy to have had that for all three courses. The waiting staff were much more pleasant than the front of house staff.

Ancienne etable transformee en restaurant par ses proprietaires, notre etablissement vous accueille dans son cadre chaleureux. Decouvrez une cuisine regionale mitonnee de produits de saison.
This former stable / barn converted into a restaurant is lovely both in summer (lovely wide Terrace outside, accessible by foot or car) and in winter (cosy inside, accessible by foot or on skis).
The menu is varied, with a number of options for vegetarians (not only salads). A great choice is the cassolette de champignons with rösti and salad.
Good local wines also on offer.
Staff are welcoming, and the restaurant is dog friendly and child friendly - there are quite a number of farm animals on site providing entertainment for both children and adults.
Reservation is advisable.

The plates are just too big for the tables!
As they had just received a 'promotion' of Gault et Millau to 14/20 (a strange system of evaluating, that is to say 23% below the top!), we thought it still was worth trying out. We had lunch in the "cold", not so attractive and small-tabled cafe.
We were disappointed.
We both had the menu of the day, which consisted of: Salade d'avocate et grapefruit rose a la citronelle, followed by Jambon cuit a l'os, jus reduit au Porto; gratinee de pommes de terre Mont d'Or; farcie de Poireaux, and for dessert was a Clafoutis aux raisins et noisettes.
The wine was chosen from the open offering and was a Syrah 2010 "Henri Cruchon", which was very acceptable.
The avocado, which was served in it's shell was almost tasteless and needed at least some salt, which was not on the table (no space!) and which we had to ask for. As Bex has a famous salt mine, it supposedly came from there. (When the waitress was asked, she did not know!).
The ham was very dry and over-cooked and had to be sent back to the kitchen. The lady serving was very apologetic and the second portion was acceptable...but no more.
The Clafoutis was bland (my friend took one spoon and rejected it) and needed to be at least a bit sweeter.
Le vieux Prune after the meal at CHF 15 was the best part of the meal...even at that price!
They are surely less than 23 % from the top!

Il locale si trova all'entrata del paese
This is a cosy restaurant, nice ambiance, friendly staff. We had spare ribs, risotto and tartare de boeuf. Simple, but quite well prepared dishes. Good green salad as a starter and excellent French fries as a side dish with the meat. Good local wines and very good desserts. Very good coffees. Except for the high prices for the meat dishes prices are more or less ok.
Reservations are necessary.

An authentic no nonsense small restaurant on the slopes. Accessible for non skiers by the mountain train. Since some years the restaurant is well known for its excellent roesti. We drank local white wine as an aperitif, nice dry wine. We lunched on emincé de veau zurichoise, Geschnetzelttes, with roesti. Very good indeed. The roesti, an ample portion, is simply deliciously crispy. A glass of local red whine was good. Desserts were delicious, walnut cake and a very good meringue. Excellent coffee.
Service is efficient and very friendly. Prices are ok. Reservations are necessary. We will certainly be back.
