The special lunch menu was very appealing. The food choice and the service were good and like some other reviewers we also brought wine with us. The restaurant was busy and the staff made us very welcome. We all had the local freshly caught fish.

After our art club meeting we decided to have lunch as we were pausing for Christmas. 6 of us went here and ended up selecting the Seniors Menu, every body had the two coarse version and nobody was disappointed, soup was very good along with beautiful wheaten bread, the mash, cabbage and a large gammon steak, great meal on a cold, frosty day, together with friendly service we had a great time, and £8.75 paid for the two coarses. We will be back.

We source great tasting local produce, mostly from within Co. Down. We are open 7 days a week from 9am with a gorgeous Bistro menu running nightly from 5pm Wed to Sun. Join us for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a coffee and cake.
Fantastic fry here - with great quality ingredients. Chowder and other dishes are also delicious. However once id a terrible salt n chili squid. it was far too salty and over cooked. however, ive been here dozens of times and everyone can have an off day!
Decor is modern, and bright, but acoustics can leave it sounding a bit loud at times.
Good range of drinks and traybake too.

After several years’ absence I was delighted to find Daft Eddie’s pub-restaurant buzzing with life on a Sunday. Great place for lunch with a view of White Rock Bay. In the little area behind the bar, photographed, called The Lodge I was allowed to bring my dog. Beautiful starter of smoked salmon and cucumber ‘envelopes’ stuffed with fresh crab mayonnaise - so fresh, mouth-watering. Then a freshly baked dessert of almond and raspberry sponge tartlet with gorgeous ice cream.
Will return for full Sunday lunch sometime. Good atmosphere and very friendly, laid-back yet efficient staff. And all set in the divine Strangford Lough that can be easily sampled on a short ‘hidden’ walk behind Daft Eddie’s.
Heartily recommend.

Situated in Newtownards Molly Brown's is a comfortable and welcoming local pub and restaurant providing quality drinks, food and entertainment. With outside dining and our Live Lounge available for private hire.
Had a lovely bite to eat last Saturday afternoon.
I got the steak Sandwich and my other half got the roast of the day. Both were absolutely outstanding. I would have liked a bit more steak to the steak Sandwich as it seemed to be the tiniest bit of meat on a burger but, but all the same it was lovely.
Only downside was the chewing gum that decided to get stuck down the back of my jeans and coat from some reprobate that decided sticking gum under the chair was sensible.

Cooffee and tray bakes a plenty with top ups while you enjoy the homely atmosphere. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Will return to try lunch soon.

Good bar but the food is disappointing. It is standard, from frozen and not particularly well presented. My last visit, I think the serving staff begrudged my visit, it interfered with their time on their phone

Reataurant (including 80 cover outside Terrace with outstanding views over Strangford Lough), Farm Shop including bakery, Gift Shop and Plant Nursery / Garden Centre
Trip advisor found this while driving down to Portaferry. Great views over the lake/lough and good service and food. Didn’t notice you pay at the counter so did sit there waiting!

We absolutely love the old school house Inn. We've been coming here every October for a few nights for the past 5 years. The welcome is always so warm. All the rooms are lovely but this year we had the newly decorated room and it was done really well. The bed was soo comfortable. I love the little sitting room where you can help yourself to tea, coffee and biscuits. The ulster fry every morning was perfect as always.... Six of us had dinner in the restaurant and as usual the food is sublime, the presentation, the locally sourced produce, and of course the taste made it a unique dining experience. We also treated ourselves to pre dinner cocktails, delicious. We found the service to be friendly and attentive. I would happily recommend this hotel and restaurant.

Irish country pub serving great food, drink & craic with a relaxed informal style 7 days a week in a rural setting on the shores of Strangford Lough.
We called here 2 years ago
Our visit was disappointing
We gave the restaurant a second chance today as a birthday treat
Unfortunately it was disappointing again
The staff are lovely and friendly although it’s not the speediest of service
I ordered the scampi and chips
The lady OLIVE took my order ( as I’m allergic to onions : I asked for “no onions” ) she told me very sharply and clearly “ you’ll definitely get no onions
I got onions - exactly the same problem as our last visit and it was the same lady who took our order OLIVE the owner
It turned out that she hadn’t even written on the order pad “no onions”
Well if the owner cannot get a simple note correct then there’s an issue
We were recommended to visit here by Olive’s local customer
Not only has it ruined my day out but she has now embarrassed her local customers
We will not return here
I would not recommend this restaurant
