We were a party of four celebrating my husband's birthday! We couldn't fault our friendly welcome, our three entrees (pork belly, barramundi-chorizo skewers and salt and pepper squid), and we were all overwhelmed by the size and quality of our mains (lamb shanks, rib eye, barramundi and stuffed chicken). It was cold night so we requested the table by the open fire - glorious! Thanks Fireside team - we will be back!

The Astor provides a comfortable air conditioned public bar and lounge bar environment featuring clean, modern decor and a relaxed atmosphere. A 40 room motel is also attached to the hotel providing clean, comfortable, fully self-contained accommodation at extremely competitive prices. Food is a major feature of the hotel and our excellent bistro is open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week. Our menu caters for a variety of tastes, perfect for a quick lunch or snack, a generous meal for the hungry traveller or the place to come and celebrate with family and friends. The Astor is the perfect choice for your next function or family get together.
Quality food and better service. I made a mistake when ordering and despite Reading the order back to me, I still missed that there was an extra parmy on the order. Even though it was my fault they refunded the $$ without question. Kids cheeseburger...MoreThank you for your comments, they have been passed onto to the Manager, we appreciate your feedback ... cheers.

We have long heard about the Paragons Tuesday half priced pizza and pasta night. I have to say our family of four were not disappointed- the place was packed on arrival but we were still able to find a booth easily. The wait staff were lovely as usual despite the busy environment! The pasta dishes are HUGE and the medium pizza is adequate for an adult. There is plenty of left overs and they provide boxes for these on your departure! The pricing was excellent even with alcoholic beverages it was all under $90. Highly recommended.

Not usually surprised by quality of service but this Café has something that many other could aspire to. Apart for service of excellence, their preparation and Delivery of a "simple" takeaway pie or cake is something very rarely seen or experienced. The Café has the same in Yass of which is exactly the same in quality and service. A must for not only coffee. Thank you for your professional service.

Good range of dishes and generous serves with friendly service and very reasonably priced wine list.

We had a family birthday at the Blue Plate Restraunt with all impressed with the quality of the food and friendliness of the staff. While a large table of 12 the meals all came out well and hot. While food envy was evident with the range of dishes selected each one sectected was enjoyed by the recipient. Nice company and good food made for a wonderful night. Only downside was one bill per table that with larger groups can cause some difficulties in these days of card usage and less cash being carried.

Lovely, recently refurbished dining room is a pleasure to dine in. Staff are very friendly and service is good. Plenty on the menu, including daily specials. Situated right in the centre of the city on the main street... you can't miss it! Plenty of parking. Of all the clubs in the area... this one is definitely the best!

Whether you're after a romantic dinner, private party, or hosting a family gathering, Cascades has a range of dining options and private dining areas. Menu items are sourced from fresh local and regional produce, you won't be left disappointed. Our breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner menus feature innovative cuisine with a mix of international flavours. We offer a seasonally changing menu as well as daily specials. The Terrace GARDEN is now open. A great spot to catch up with friends.
We had here a dinner while staying at Best Western Hotel. The restaurant is just outside the city centre. Outside and inside seatings are available. Without a reservation we hadn't problems to be seated. Nice service, average food. Barramundi was good but salmon was overcooked.
Desserts to forget!
Not a great value for money.

Goulburn Bakery also goes by the name Trappers Bakery - so you will find two places it is reviewed on Tripadvisor (unless they read my post here, and decide to merge the two!).
Goulburn Bakery is located just off the south-most exit to Goulburn from the highway, and is about 2km south of Goulburn's town centre. It is right next to The Big Merino (a 40 foot high fiberglass sheep), so is impossible to miss! There is a small car park, however plenty of other parking in the service centre (opposite) or on the street.
The interior is not "polished" and could perhaps do with a makeover as when it is busy there are many people just standing around waiting for their coffee. There is ample Seating, although not restaurant quality and more like what you would expect to see in a bakery. Plenty of Seating for large groups and families, and certainly very good for parents with kids as I don't think the bakery is too precious about its furniture.
The pies are absolutely brilliant here. 10 out of 10. I consider myself a bit of a "pie connoisseur" and would rate the pies here way about the likes of Heatherbrae. I tried the standard "classic" meat pie - and found it to be tasty, full of meat, perfectly cooked, and perfectly balances. The pie held together well when eaten using hands. For those wanting it, plates, knives and forks are provided at no extra charge.
I also tried a sausage roll (on my return trip past Goulburn) and would consider it to be "good" (7.5/10), but to be honest I am not a sausage roll kind of guy so I reckon 7.5 is a pretty decent score!
Coffee was good (7/10) although the Barista's were a tad slow (so there was a decent queue of people waiting for coffee). I think they need to rethink their floorplan slightly and they can make this place more welcoming and more efficient.
Staff were very friendly (as you would expect from a country town) and very helpful (gave me a complete A-to-Z description of all the pies when I asked for it!).
There are plenty of other things at Goulburn Bakery - quiches, breads, cakes, apple turnovers, and everything else you would expect to see.
Well worth a stop. Overall 8/10.
