As the Portland, Maine restaurant scene gets ever more trendy, as kitchen space becomes prohibitively expensive, and parking becomes ever more scarce, more and more chefs are finding their way to outlying towns and building excellent reputations and loyal customers.
MK Kitchen can go toe to toe with any of the restaurants in Portland. Starting with our outstanding server, Lindsey, the evening couldn't have been more satisfying. She knew the menu inside and out, answered all our questions and gave good advice. There was an ample selection of wines, beer, and cocktails--which were expertly made.
The menu boasts some of the most unique appetizers we're seen. (Lobster cones? Yes, please.) Our party enjoyed a roasted beet salad, a bountiful shrimp cocktail plate with a fabulous sauce layered with flavors, and the afore mentioned lobster cones.
Entrees included a melt-in-your-mouth braised short rib with horseradish mashed potatoes and roasted Brussel sprouts; ravioli margehrita, and mushroom risotto. Everyone raved all through their meals. Desert was a lighter than light blueberry cheesecake creme caramel with blueberry sorbet and a baked apple tart with vanilla gelato. All of this is the creation of chef/owners Mitchell Kaldrovich and his wife Lisa. And there it sits on School Street in Gorham, Maine. We were there on a Saturday night and it was packed. Make a reservation, enjoy the easy parking, and feast!

Beal's serves very small cone portions for the money. The quality of ice cream is very good. Beal's is easily accessed off of Outer Main Street, Route 25, Gorham. Parking is challenging and exiting the area can be dangerous due to its location. It is a popular stopping point both for locals and transient travelers. Seating is very limited.

A great local spot for breakfast or lunch. My preference is breakfast ! Locally owned - the proprietor is always focused on delivering a great meal to her patrons. Start your day off right - grab a coffee mug from the peg board for free refills, place your order and relax with a great start to any day !

I'm no fan of dunkin funkin donuts, I go out of my way to avoid them.
But, visiting a friend in gorham and she insisted on breakfast and coffee the morning of a snow storm.
Your coffee sucks.
We ordered two bacon egg sandwiches.they didn't slice them, the greace was running out the sides.are you people insane or what. I took one bite and chucked it out the Window and my partner did likewise.
Is it just the Gorham location or do they all suck.

The pastries here are wonderful and the fresh baked bread are also fantastic. My favorite are the cream horns. Try one and you will not be disappointed.

We tried this take out and decided to eat in their small restaurant. It was quite crowded so we took that as a good sign that the food was good. We were not disappointed. Delicious Chinese Food. Wish we had one in Hudson, Florida.
This was my second time here for take-out. I went mid-day on a weekday and ordered at the counter, food came up fast, service was just okay as the staff were cordial but not exactly friendly. I got the chicken with mushrooms in brown sauce, pork fried rice, and crab rangoon. The food quality is good and provided two meals for under $9.00. I would go back again.

We go here often and you can NOT find a better sandwich around. The steak, cheese, and mushroom is absolutely fantastic. This place is very busy so it is best to call ahead and take it with you. They are fast but there might not be any seating at certain busy times.

Very good, relaxed and informal, for lunch and superior ice cream (made on premises)in a large, rustic area that overlooks fields and animals -- a respite from the city, which is right on the fringes! In the summer months there is a great "petting zoo" and activities for families. Normally there is an opportunity for cross-country skiing - we didn't have much snow this past winter, alas. Dairy products and milk from their own herd available for take-home purchases. Small gift shop. Name is taken from a very old children's story book series.

I was recently here with friends after golf and it was a fun little place to eat at. I know it is a small chain but it didn't have that feel for it. They have a great selection of their beer on tap and for purchase so if you like beer clearly this will be a win for you. The parking is tight on site, so you may have to get creative and be prepared to walk across the street. The seating inside is also pretty tight, so you may find yourself having to wait a few minutes for a seat if you have a larger crowd. The service was friendly and quick. We were able to get our drinks quickly and were able to get our food order taken care of in no time as well. I would recommend hitting them up when you are in the area.

What is a gastro pub?” Gastronomy is the study of preparing and consuming food. A pub is a neighborhood spot for affordable food and good times. When you combine the two you get a neighborhood spot with a focus on food prepared from scratch with fresh ingredients.
My first experience of this amazing restaurant was in a business setting. I DJ’d a private awards gala and was blown away.
The staff was friendly, accommodating and extremely courteous. As far as the food is concerned personally I never new that Westbrook had such a fine dining type restaurant as The Frog & Turtle.
James and crew worked to make the food unique, favorable and hot. They didn’t make the food hours before. I saw them make it right there on the spot.
I’d recommend the Frog & Turtle to anyone.
