We walked here from Come and Take It (three blocks) to take a break from the crowds. Dairy Queen was just like we remembered it when we were kids! Great, friendly and fast service. Food was just as good as we remembered it. It was very busy but everybody was very nice and service was unbelievably quick! Great memories!!!

This place is ok. Its nice inside and the service is good but the food is not the best. If you live in Gonzales and you believe this is the best Italian I suggest you get out more. Its ok for my taste as I have traveled quite a bit. Its good if your in the area but I would not travel for this food.

We were passing through on our way back to San Antonio and stopped for a quick lunch. Okay food, but nothing to brag about. I will try somewhere else next time

Great food in Gonzales. More bar than grill but try the squash casserole and homemade West TX salsa. Busy with friendly and efficient service after the lunch rush hour. “We don’t call 911” is one of the bar signs. Locals and tourists. Will return and recommend.

It's the place for locals. Right within the cattle exchange facility (actually there is a door into the dining room from the cattle area). Small with lots of simple tables and chairs. Typical Texas menu of fried foods. Locals seem to gravitate to the chicken fried steak with fixings. You can get other items like a salad "bar" or BLT. Don't get excited about the BLT since it came with 2 strips of bacon, piece of lettuce, a green tomato and an unmelted piece of unwanted cheese. Guess locals feel a sense of family and comfort but don't expect much as an outsider.

A Texas Monthly Top 50 barbecue joint, located in Gonzales, TX! Serving fresh daily brisket, in-house made sausage, ribs, Turkey, pork loin and chicken.
Stopped at Baker Boys as a result of a recommendation from a lady staying at the same hotel as us. She was correct, it was delicious! Both my husband and I had the brisket, but they had other meat options available. The sides were homemade... the mac and cheese was amazing! The restaurant is casual, comfortable and filled with friendly people. The restaurant staff was also very friendly and helpful. The prices are very reasonable and service was quick. If you are ever passing through the area, make sure and stop by Baker Boys - you will be glad you did!

One of top BBQ in all of Texas
When the original owner passed away he took a lot with him. The food is not the same at all. The sausage is greasy brisket is tougher. I have met with the owners before and like that local people own local businesses. I wish they would change what they are doing and go back to what they did before. I remember people traveling for miles to come here and now that sounds like a thing from the past.

Located in historic Gonzales, Texas, GG Steaks & Spirits is your newest restaurant and bar, bringing you an urban atmosphere into a rural historic area. Our Chef Antonio Ramirez introduces the Farm to Table experience to Gonzales and its visitors. GG Steaks & Spirits provides meats, produce and wines all made the state of Texas. The restaurant and bar is in a two story building that includes a patio for small events. Located upstairs is The Venue which can hold up to 450 people and can be converted into two rooms.
This place has a choice of seating; the dining room is fancy and the bar is more relaxed. We started with wings and loaded fries. I had the lamb chops which were excellent. My buddy got pasta primavera which was just ok. One word of caution, they do not allow concealed carry even with a valid license. That is a bummer. This is Texas after all.

I was in town for 2 weeks on business staying at the Holiday Inn (I hate Holiday Inn breakfasts) so we ate breakfast here every day. There is an excellent selection of breakfast tacos, burritos, and plates such as migas. My favorite is the Rodeo taco which has egg, bacon, potato. I noticed that they had soup for dinner so one night we went and I got the seafood soup. Other choices are beef or shrimp. The soup makes a full meal and it was nicely seasoned. Service is friendly and efficient. They do not serve alcohol os if that's what you are looking for go someplace else.

Home of The Original Golden Tenders, Golden Chick is a fast food restaurant chain offering Golden Fried or Roast Chicken, Fried Catfish, Sandwiches, Fresh Salads, Yeast Rolls and a variety of Sides.
For a fast food chicken place they are very good. Almost always the strips are hot and great. They have good corn, green beans and fried okra. They are a go to for fast food. Sweet tea is a $1. Try them! Oh, the rolls are super good too!
