Fresh, made from scratch breads, sweets and sandwiches. Stop in and check us out!
I always enjoy my visits to Great Harvest Bread, they always have something yummy to sample and I love that the products are all fresh made every day. They also have goodies packaged up to take home and make yourself. My dogs love the dog treats. The staff is always friendly and ready to assist.

McCall’s is an extremely popular eatery in Goldsboro. They specialize in southern cooking and offer a buffet with all you can eat! They have incredible home made soups, an array of fresh vegetables and all the fried chicken you can eat for close to $11.50. The parking lot was packed when we arrived but lucky for us, the wait time was only about 15 minutes. This was on a Sunday around noon that we visited. It’s a great place to show off southern cooking to your friends from out of town !

Voted Best 2009 taste of Wayne County
The food is prepared very well, with excellent flavors. The new remodel adds room and ambiance. Definitely try the chicken dishes.

Better than papa johns or dominos. New York style pizza. But taste isn't very good. They need to use premium ingredients to make their pizza better. In Walmart parking lot which gets uneasy if you aren't used to ghetto shopping centers. Sometimes there are homeless asking for money and it's a very dirty parking lot and sidewalk. It's next to the dollar store and Walmart, if that says anything about the social economic status of the area.
If we want pizza, we go here but it's all there is in Goldsboro besides making it yourself.

Wife and I stopped in on our way to Kinston. Very good Eastern NC BBQ. Smoked, chopped pork with a vinegar based sauce on the side, Cole slaw was typical Eastern NC. minced without mayo. Both were good. But, the place is dated and dark inside there was also the issue of the small roach on the side of our table.

The best kept secret in Goldsboro, the nicest little steakhouse in town!
In Goldsboro for a night and used TripAdvisor to find something new. Charming date-night kind of restaurant. Really good steak, cut table side, attentive service, salad bar included, and had to try a "southern thing" for desert, Pig Pickin Cake. Bonus for us, it was Wednesday and wine was 1/2 price.

After reading reviews on Trip Advisor, decided to try this restaurant for dinner. Started out with chips and salsa. The chips were nice and warm, but the salsa was lacking in flavor. Next came the margaritas, which had absolutely no alcohol in them, like drinking fruit juice. The meals were mediocre. Plenty of food, but not that great. I wouldn't return. Disappointed.

Unlike so many restaurants, Mongolian grill restaurants offer lots of meats and veggie options. Priced about $10/person for dinner ( not including drinks except water), this all you can eat restaurant is a great value. Meat choices include: beef, pork, chicken, artificial crab, shrimp, sausage, lamb and scallops. Veggie options include broccoli, carrots, cabbage, green pepper, bean sprouts, water chestnuts, and pineapple. You pick out what you want, tell the cook spicy, little spicy, or no spicy- about five minutes later you have fantastic stir fry with lots of flavor. There is also ice cream and a salad bar/ food bar included. A popular place and for good reason. No doggie bags allowed. I think you can get food to go and you are charged by the weight. If you don't eat all of your food and ask to take the rest home, I believe you are charged for the weight of your leftovers in addition to your meal charge. This makes sense, to discourage people from paying for one meal yet taking food for two meals. We definitely recommend Empire Fire if you are wanting a fast, tasty, healthy lunch or dinner.

We've driven by this jewel many times in our way to the coast and finally stopped! I have no idea why we waited so long. The brisket sandwich (pictured here) is amazing. My family loved the chicken and chopped barbecue. There is a variety of sides and my husband said the cole slaw is the best he's ever had. This is a take out place with picnic tables outside. No eat-in dining.
