If you are looking for a casually elegant and quiet restaurant with gorgeous views and delicious food, Angelo’s will not disappoint. Set in Prince Edward Park, every table has a view of the parklands and Hen & Chicken Bay which the restaurant overlooks.
Thanks to generous spacing between tables and carpetted floors, it’s possible to have conversation without needing to bellow at your dining companions which is a welcome change from most modern restaurants.
I’m always happy when I can order a cocktail to start the evening and the wine list is good. (You may bring your own but their corkage fee makes it obvious they would prefer you not.) The modern Australian / Italian menu consists of both individual and share-plate options and servings are generous. On my recent visit, the tempura zucchini flowers were a big hit and although quite a polarizing vegetable, I loved my entree of Brussels sprouts with almonds and apple!
There are meat/fish/pasta options for Mains and a small dessert selection. Service is non-intrusive, friendly and efficient. If you are planning a weekend visit, probably best to check there are no functions as the venue is extremely popular for large celebrations.
All in all, it’s easy to understand why Angelo’s has been a local institution for so long.

Visited for a special occasion, booked in advance.Warm welcome by all staff.Enjoyed the duck risotto, lots of duck in the dish.Szechuan crusted kangaroo was tender and juicy,Wilted Zucchini Flower, King Brown Mushrooms with Asian Glaze was a good compliment to the meat.Loved the dessert, nougat and hazelnut icecream. Also tasted the Peach and mango souffle.Nice generous serve. There was fresh bread coming around so for those who do not choose an entree there a few bread varieties and butter to enjoy.
After the meal we went for a walk around the place and found it very interesting.Nice spot for that group photo.will return for another special treat:-)

Efendy means gentleman in old Turkish, but everyone is welcome here. Located on the corner of Darling and Elliott Streets, in a historic sandstone Victorian mansion, Efendy is a modern Turkish restaurant, complete with a basement bar, run by Istanbul-born owner and chef Somer Sivrioglu. The popular restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, offering authentic Turkish delicacies, using local and sustainable produce, prepared meze style for sharing. Lounge and chat in the dining area, where the walls are covered in Turkish comic book posters, while you graze away on meze which includes baba ghanoush topped with pomegranate or gobsmackingly good, ordek borek, duck, barberries and cinnamon in thin crisp pastry.
Efendy located at 79 Elliott Street, Balmain. NSW Australia. The ambiance was delightful, set in a renovated 2-storey Victorian house, Efendy serves up delicious and hearty Turkish cuisine. With a cosy upper lounge area, and alfresco Seating on ground level! The menu has a wide variety of food, the food that we ordered was soooooo delicious, Such as Smoked Eggplants, Humus, Pastrami, Prawns, Fish Borek, Bomonti and off course Lavish bread, the presentation of the food was beautiful, But for me, the one that stood out was the Lamb Shoulder Tandir, cooked to perfection, it was to die for. Honestly I am speechless about this place... the food was absolutely AMAZING. From the staters to main to the dessert.
Overall nice atmosphere, and nice food relatively inexpensive. Service Wow! What a great service particularly Gizem our waitress, welcoming smile, warm and friendly attitude. The other staff were also very hospitable. They presented flawless service, friendly and professional. The attentiveness and enthusiasm of the service made an enjoyable, lunch
Great place for a real Turkish cuisine. Definitely must try if you are in the mood for, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean flavours. I love it that much, I will definitely come back very soooon next time I am in Sydney.

I have eaten here a few times. It is a very good "noodle" place with a wide variety of choices. On one occasion, I made the "mistake" of ordering Tom Yum, "Thai spicy"...oh boy was it SPICY. Now I am not complaining, but beware if you ask for spicy! My mouth is still burning now!

They don't have a website
Last night was our third visit. A former favourite of ours, I would now describe Voro as a $40-a-head restaurant which provides $40-a-head quality food, and a $20-a-head quality service and overall experience.
The wait staff are overworked and under trained. YOu can tell this pretty much from the moment you enter the place and see other diners waving to the staff to make their orders.
At $40-a-head, I don't expect to get seated at a wobbly table which is bumped by prams coming in and out as they try to maneuver around spare chairs standing near the door. I don't expect to have to inform the waitress that I'm ready to order. I expect my water glass to be refilled, if they really can't provide a jug. I expect the waitress to check if everything's all right once during the meal. I don't expect to see the man at the table in front of me craning his neck all night trying to get attention. I don't expect to be so warm that they have to keep the door open. I don't expect to have to get up and go to the cashier when I'm ready to leave.
All the Italian food we've had in this place has been exemplary. Maybe we got them on an off night, holidays etc. But it's still disappointing.

Savour the flavour of the beautifully presented and prepared Lebanese food , the absolutely outstanding hummus is a must . Excellent service and we loved that the owner and chef comes around to speak with all the guests. Another lovely touch was being offered a couple of complimentary desserts to share . The only issue we had was with the acoustics, the restaurant was full which made it seem to be very noisy

Often visiting family in Gladesville and have been here many times - never disappointed. You need to book as it is small and does get busy, but they try to accommodate you if they can. Love the appetisers of stuffed olives and the haloumi, asparagus and chorizo plate. Usually try one of their special pizzas, but have all been delicious. Busy, great family atmosphere or great place for couples, delicious wood fired pizzas and great tiramisu. Friendly service and good prices. Planning on returning again next month!

Had the pleasure of visiting La Perla again. Hadn't been there for about 10 years. The service was excellent but value for money was poor. Penne pasta with crab meat $29 and some lobster meat and it turns into a special at $95. I was told it was a whole lobster but the amount of meat on the plate appeared to be half a lobster. Took a photo as I couldn't believe what I received, was even more surprised when the bill came.
