As someone who usually trash Norwegian restaurant based on their ridiculous prices and low level of service, I have to admit; Peppes Pizza Gjøvik is actually quite good. The restaurant is always clean, and the waitresses are 99% of the time friendly and nice. They greet you at the door, something all restaurants with a certain level of seriousness to them should do, and show you were to sit. You can always book ahead, and their phone service system works well indeed. The surroundings of the restaurant is nice and friendly, but sometimes it can be quite loud as guests usually bring their kids, grandmas or even an annoyed aunt.
The prices, like anything in Norway, are absymal and like a nightmare. However, in this case - if you like pizza, you almost get your moneys worth. The Pizzas are top class if you like the American type Pizzas. I heard they are doing other versions as well. You will have to look very long if you want better pizzas in Norway than what Peppes can offer you. However, sadly, it is the price of them that brings it all down and refrains me from going more than once or twice a year. Don't get me wrong, I can afford it, but it just feels like it isn't worth it when the Pizzas reach up to 250 NOK.
But other than that, go. It is good. They know service and they even give you a free dessert if it's your birthday. They have by all means been looking abroad to find inspiration for their service, and it has paid off.

This charming restaurant is located in Gjovik Arbeidersamfund, which opened as Gjovik’s first cultural centre in 1889. The eating establishment has room for up to approx. 90 guests, and has been serving guests without interruption for the past 119 years. Both the interior and the furniture are excellent examples of classic Urban Interior, dating from the turn of the last century. The four living rooms provide the perfect setting for all types of events and celebrations. The chefs at the Spiseriet are genuine food enthusiasts and integrate local, seasonal ingredients as much as possible in their culinary creations. Norwegian/international cuisine.
In my opinion, this is the best place to have a meal in Gjøvik. The kitchenstaff is great, and the servicestaff is competent. They know what they are doing! Great value for Money. The Food looks, smells, and tastes great. Highly recomendable!!

Restaurant in the city centre of Gjovik. With a variated and inexpensive menu this is a popluar choise. Chinese and norwegian food. Take away menu.
Staff is always nice and food is good. Basic, chinese resturant. A little outdated in interior but atmosphere is nice. Value for money is average both size of portions and cost. Still recommend for a nice Chinese meal.

Beautifully situated down by the beautiful Skumsjoen lake, Osbakken was originally built in 1892 to serve as a residence for the person watching over the dam. The site is at the heart of a wonderful rambling country, with several marked trails for both summer and winter activities. Floodlit cross-country trail (6 km) to Raufoss. Boats available for our guests – a chance to try out your fishing luck. Some rooms feature a shower and WC. Cafeteria, banquet hall and meeting rooms.
Serverer tradisjonell, norsk hverdagskost...men...du må smøre deg med tålmodighet....virker nesten som om de koker poteter for hver som bestiller..men smaker bra når maten kommer.

Please come and enjoy a cozy restaurant/bar that serves great food, and hotel classics. Our new menu comprises of a marvelous burger and other great dishes.
I'm not sure about the food since we didn't order any. The bar was great, had a nice helpful bartender and everyone I saw was having a great time here. I feel it had what to expect from a bar. It's a great place for...MoreHi Joe G, Thanks for a lovely review. We are happy that you had a great time with us, and you are most welcome back. Brgs, Ådne Skurdal General Manager

My husband and I have periodic date nights at this restaurant. It is a small place, with personable service. The dishes are rather small, even by Norwegian standards, but the ingredients are fresh, many of them locally sourced and the food is good. The menu is small, and there is an 'early bird' menu for after work. I have enjoyed dinner here during the holidays and also with colleagues. I recommend this for good food in Gjøvik.

Despite its rather small and poor location (inside the mall), this is my favourite coffee shop in Gjøvik, and actually one of my favourites in all of Norway. The reason for this is the staff`s knowledge. One can ask them anything regarding coffee, and they`ll have a ready answer. They make the best cortados I have ever had. The bread they serve is also excellent - locally produced sourdough bread with either cheese/jam or salad/italian ham. Just heaven after a shopping spree.
The coffee shop also sell a range of special coffees and teas, and coffee making equipment. So - other coffee shops in this town that has better Seating areas and atmosphere, but these guys make the best coffee.

I reviewed this place several years ago after suggesting them to Tripadvisor. Some minor corrections are due - from a small fast-food'ish place they have grown to be a small, clean and nice restaurant we frequently pick up food from, and sometimes sit down to eat. They've also added some new dishes to their futomaki menu (our favorite) which are delicious.
The staff is still great, the food is on the WOW scale (impressive for a small town like Gjøvik) and the place is always nice and clean. Keep up the good work Jako, and everyone else - go there and taste it!

We stayed in Gjovik while on a family vacation to Norway and had dinner on a Friday night at Salt & Pepper. We thought the food and service was very good and the prices were decent for Norway standards. The restaurant was busy on Friday night with what appeared to be a lot of locals. I would go back again if traveling in the area.
