372 steps later, here you are.
We ordered a meze plate for 2 with a drink. For the vegetarian I am, it was perfect. The flavours are so good and the staff is lovely. You feel like home.
Thank you so much, we spend a great time.

We only spent two evenings in Symi. Our first night in the front and whilst the food was good we felt the service was poor to the point that we felt we will be replaced by other suckers the next evening. And we are not demanding customers....
So we researched on TA and decided that Merakalis seemed a better place. It is off the harbour front and at 20.30 were lucky to get a table as most were already taken or reserved.
Throughout our meal there was a steady stream of people waiting for tables.
There are two young guys serving as many people that four staff served in the restaurant we ate in the night before. They were friendly, efficient and worked like demons, appearing with new tables as well as food and drinks.
We shared the octopus salad (gorgeous) and the usual taziki and pitta.
I had moussaka which was good but my husband's beef stifado was amazing - full of flavour and the meat was sooo tender.
Reasonable house wine, nice little free dessert at the end of the meal was appreciated.
If we had a third night is Symi we would be returning to Merakalis - do yourself a favour and eat here!

Well worth the walk to get to this place. It's well away from the main areas and is an oasis of calm. Beautiful views and right next to the water. Service a little on the slow side but what's the hurry? Food was great as was the wine and prices not too bad at all.

This place was absolutely wonderful! We were in Symi for just the day and had luggage that we wanted to leave somewhere secure. Once we arrived I asked a local which was the best Greek restaurant in the marina and she said Pantelis as the owner's father is a fisherman and they have fresh seafood. She was right!
We asked if they wouldn't mind if we left our luggage inside for the day which they were only too happy to do. We then made a reservation for dinner. We were told that the restaurant doesn't open for dinner until around 7:30pm...however as our ferry departed at 8:40pm we needed to be at the dock around 8pm so Pantelis opened their kitchen early for us!
The food here is absolutely devine-we would recommend it highly and will definitely be back! Every dish was delicious and the service was wonderful.

Our first night in Symi we decided to visit Odyssia restaurant. We ordered several seafood dishes calamari was excellent. Shrimps were nice . We had nice house wine and enjoyed the view. The service was good . The dishes were very generous and tasty. We couldn't finish all the food so the cats enjoyed the food too

The locals we have met who return to Symi every second year eat here at least once per visit....for good reason. The degustation menu is worth the airfare! Ignore the detractors and do yourself a flavour. Fine food with fine wine at fair prices.

We visited this lovely place on our last day in Symi, which corresponds to the day I posted my comment.
Ana and Yelena are amazing and genuinely helpful; I even asked for a painkiller and they provided it to me. What else can you ask from a place? Coffee, the smoothie with musli and the toast were simply amazing:)

One of Symi´s best restaurants and on top of that the place offers an amazing view overlooking the harbour.
Both the food and staff is genuine and they also have some local dishes that are worth trying (try the meatballs and oven cooked aubergines) The restaurant is located a short walk up in the village so ask for directions, but I promise it´s worth the walk up and you will be rewarded with some of symi´s best food and veiw.

Nice and cozy all day cafe-bar
Nicely situated cafe right by the harbour and where our boat dropped us off. Makes nice iced coffees with ice cream. Provides free wifi to customers. The staff are very friendly and have good English.
