Geneseo /ˌdʒɛnɪˈsiːoʊ/ is a town in Livingston County in the Finger Lakes region of New York, United States on the far south end of the five-county Rochester Metropolitan Area. The population was 10,483 at the 2010 census. The town and surrounding area is quite rural. The English name "Geneseo" is an anglicization of the Iroquois name for the earlier Iroquois town there, Gen-nis-he-yo (which means "beautiful valley"). A village of the same name lies within the town's western portion. The town is known today mainly as the home of the highly selective State University of New York at Geneseo.

Best food in a restaurant in years. We had sour rye soup that was uniquely wonderful with flavors of Rye and sour cream. We shared our platter's which had sausage, pierogi, stuffed cabbage, potato dumplings, cranberry sauce, cucucumber salad and stew. Sausage is a measure of polish food to me. EuroCafe's was balanced with nice spices and a light flavor. We bought some double smoked sausage to take home
The service was friendly and attentive.
We will go out of our way to return

EMBER WOOD FIRE GRILL is a casual dining restaurant, occupying the old historic train station in the quaint village of Livonia in Livingston County, committed to a hospitality first attitude. In an era dominated by chain restaurants and fast, pre-packaged food, our mission is to bring our patrons REAL food at reasonable prices. Comfort from scratch cuisine using the best ingredients from sustainable sources, whenever possible: selections with no growth hormones, pesticides, pre-packaged, frozen or use of steam tables will be used in our kitchen. Our menus will changes with the seasons, our wood fire selections are cooked with real wood, our wine and micro brew selections are large and extensive. Our well trained staff will make your selection approachable and fun. S.O.S.: Shorts or Suit, come down and enjoy!!!
We walked through the door, and were greeted by a professional, sophisticated, and friendly hostess. You know then , you have stumbled upon a special restaurant.
Then you enter a dimly lit dining area which is conducive to excellent dining, or a romantic dining interlude.
We were greeted by our server Patrick. A high energy, ultra intelligent, and very enthusiastic server. He was not only familiar with the menu but was able to make recommendations which thrilled us.
Patrick was thrilled with the business model as well. The entire menu is designed to encourage family style dining. The concept, which works very well, encourages the sharing of different plates or items on the menu. Much different than ordering appetizers or entrees and sharing a wing or a forkful of entree. You truly share the meal. I found that concept sexy and romantic. My fiancé did as well.
The food was excellent , the facilities ultra clean. The staff worked together.
This is a great place for family and friends to meet too. The bar seemed to be hopping for the singles crowd.
This is a great place to dine! What are you waiting for?

The Three Legged Pig is a very unique place. The food is great and the portions very generous. The pulled pork and pulled chicken truly special. It is a fun upbeat atmosphere.
I commend the owners for hiring younger employees. The staff was very friendly and highly motivated.
The only reason I didn't give it higher grades was that the restaurant didn't appear to me particularly clean. We stayed to closing, and at that point there was a thorough cleaning.
I would still highly recommend this restaurant, and while you are there , take a moment to enjoy the atmosphere, and read the short story of the three legged pig!

Tom Wahl's in Avon has been a family tradition for upstate New Yorkers since 1955. Customers have been known to travel great distances just to enjoy a juicy Wahlburger™, hot crispy fries and a frosted mug or two of our delicious handcrafted root beer. Today, we still mix the root beer in each store by hand, the same as Tom's first batch, but we now have 9 upstate locations.
Stopped in for lunch and it was very busy, the wait time was very reasonable. Had cheeseburgers with fries. The food was very tasty, the fries were cooked to perfection, the burgers could have been a little warmer. I would still return here and recommend visiting.

To celebrate her 84th birthday my Mom wanted to go to Yard of Ale to celebrate with 3 children and spouses and a couple grandkids. We had a wonderful meal with exceptional service - the prime rib was very well prepared and Mom's scallops were delicious as per the usual. One of the kids got a large dinner salad that looked fantastic- everyone was pleased with their meals. A go to place for a guaranteed quality dinner.

Was looking around town and decided to walk in and see what they had. They have a nice space good for talking with friends or working on some homework. The place has a decent choice of soups, coffee, bread and desserts. I got a discounted cupcake and some pepperoni bread to go which I enjoyed later. Both were very tasty and if I ever got back to Geneseo, I would stop in again.

Wonderful draft beer selections, and great pub food. The burgers are Black Angus, and just super. We had the Friday fish fry, and it was hanging off both sides of the plate, so i knew what my next lunch would be. Just outside of downtown Geneseo, but well worth finding. Chris, at the bar, will take very good care of you.

People enjoying their work isn't always evident, but it was at Fratelli's. Food was very good. Folks of all ages present when I dined with my cousin. Several house made salad dressings, I tried the Pepper Parmesan and was pleased. Had a small portion of Linguini with white clam sauce. Enough to bring some home! The clams were plentiful. I thought there could have been more garlic, but it was quite good.
