The City of Fruita (pronounced /ˈfruːtə/) is a Home Rule Municipality located in western Mesa County, Colorado, United States. Fruita is part of the Grand Junction Metropolitan Statistical Area and within the Grand Valley. The geography is identified by the bordering Colorado River (historically known as the Grand River) on the southern edge of town, the Uncompahgre Plateau known for its pinyon-juniper landscape, and the Book Cliffs range on the northern edge of the Grand Valley. The population was 12,646 at the 2010 census. Originally home to the Ute people, white farmers settled the town after founder William Pabor in 1884. Ten years later, Fruita was incorporated.

The Hot Tomato is a lively, funky pizza restaurant with a biked-themed backdrop for elaborate homemade pies & microbrews.
SO grateful to find this little place in Fruita. Excellent, fresh food, delicious craft beers, interesting craft sodas... & a local, friendly, casual, fun atmosphere. That said, Tomatoes is extremely popular with locals & visitors so get there early or enjoy your wait with a drink & a look around. The food is REAL & it won't be rushed. During the summer bike season the place is a zoo; still fun & delicious but crazy-busy & very loud.
The pizza & all toppings are hand-made & -cut every day; crusts include thin, Sicilian deep dish & even gluten-free, with a large array of meat & vegetable choices. There are always a few baked pizzas on hand if you only want a slice or two, & you can have toppings added to those as well. Then there's the stromboli! I wasn't sure what it is when I first went, & now I'm addicted; it rocks (tho, fyi, it's very salty). We've not gotten to the sausage rolls or calzones yet, but I've no doubt they're great. If you're not in the mood for heavy food, there are a few entree salad choices.
You order at the counter & either pick up your food or it's brought to your table by very hard-working, very friendly staff. You bus your own tables (no big deal) & really my only complaint would be the plasticware rather than real & more environmentally-friendly silverware. There's only one tv (yay) at a small bar, & there's a covered patio-style dining area as well as a pretty little outdoor patio for good weather. We love this place.

Great Coffee, great atmosphere, great service! We often pull off of I-70 just to stop here and get coffee and perhaps a scone while driving through Fruita. People here are really nice. It can be crowded, so patience helps.

Very popular, busy, loud locals place for breakfast & lunch, with good, solid fare ~ but certainly nothing unique or special. Breakfast is hearty, with big omelets (& you can build your own), various french toast options, burritos, big biscuits. We often judge a breakfast place by the potatoes, & these are boring, pre-bought, undercooked shredded things.
For lunch, my husband says the Reuben is good (he's picky about them), & the Cuban sandwich was good but definitely not traditional-style. The burgers are good, buns big & boring, fries average. Veggie soup boring, squash soup delish. The peanut butter pie is great. There are lots of Mexican choices, which we've not yet tried.
So, a mixed bag, but you won't go home hungry or disappointed if you're in the mood for traditional heavy food. The servers are great; very friendly & efficient. It's a bigger place than it looks from outside, & there's a small outdoor patio for good weather.

This place is full of charm - a cute side room for you to plug in your lap top and get to work, a main room to see and be seen, a back room if you feel like nursing your coffee in private and several outside areas.
But that isn't why you come here. You come for the coffee. You can have it brewed many ways. It is all freshly roasted and from great ethical sources. Chemex, cold press, Mellita, nitro, aeropress are just a few of the ways to have this coffee.
When I go, I feel reinvigorated by the coffee, the atmosphere and the feeling that somehow I am doing good and I am sharing peach.

This place got great reviews which is why we decided to try it. It was nothing spectacular, and I am not sure we would go back. The sesame chicken we ordered was over-breaded and cooked too long and the sauce seemed ketchup-based. The happy family was pretty tasty with the fried rice served to us. Again, it was not horrible, but I just cannot see going out of our way to eat here again.

I've accumulated a free drink off my many visits here. It's a quick and convenient stop for my dirty morning chai. Also they have breakfast sandwiches and muffins. They are usually pretty quick if there is no line. Don't forget to get those punches on the punch card.

We were driving through pulling a trailer and had plenty of parking. The service is super quick and the food was so good. The pricing was too extreme, as the name may indicate. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch! The different BBQ sauces were ALL excellent...we had fun experimenting. When we will were leaving, we happened to mention that we were traveling through to move our son to Vegas and the waitress gave us water to go!! How wonderful is that!!! We will make an effort to stop here again and again (we drive to Vegas constantly!). Thank you Rib City Grill for the wonderful food, laid back atmosphere and awesome service! Not only do we recommend this serendipitous find, but we WILL be back!

3 out of 4 items we ordered were wonderful, the shredded beef chimichanga wasn't great. That said, the service was fantastic. Friendly, food served quick and fresh, it obviously didn't sit under a heat lamp. The restaurant's atmosphere is very pleasant.

By far the freshest beer in the Valley. Kind of a cafeteria-esqe setting. Lots of tables, spread out. Like a canteen at a national park. Small bar. Dogs welcome. Children welcome. Families welcome. No food served. "Munchies" will deliver good inexpensive burgers. It's the beer that puts this place on the map. Some of the other brewery establishments in the valley are riding on their laurels and serving flat craft beer. This place has the liveliest, freshest craft beer in town.

This place is exactly what it promises: a good place to grab a quick sandwich or burger. The inside looks like an old diner with checkered table covers and a walk-up order counter. The food was good quality and service was quick even though they were crowded for lunch when I visited.
