Stopped off in Forfar yesterday and found this lovely cafe quite by chance. The staff were excellent, friendly and very efficient. The food was excellent and the cakes and tray bakes fabulous. So glad we came upon the great little cafe. Will definitely call in again.

Came here for lunch as 2 walk ins. It was really busy but we were seated quickly. I chose the vegetarian lasagne which was delicious and my friend chose the chicken goujons, also delicious. The lady who served us was the owner and she was very courteous, polite and helpful. Car park out the back a bonus for me with walking issues. We will return.

This restaurant changed hands earlier this year and used to be one of our favourites. This was our first visit under the new owners and it will be our last. Service was at best lacklustre from servers who never smile and have no idea how to talk to customers. Our meals were disappointing. My soup starter had a skin on the surface and my wife’s portion of fish pate had eight rather large bones. Our main courses were nice but nothing special. We will not be going back.

Went to this restaurant last night for a meal,it has been totally refurbished and décor is really nice. we both had the 2 course meal deal for £16.95 per person. We both ordered burgers, one beef and one chicken. Both were really nice, and came with salad chips.and onion rings.Managed to find room for a dessert which was also really nice, although main meal portions are quite large.overall lovely meal, with excellent service.would not hesitate to visit again.

Tearoom, delicious baking, soups and light meals. Nature reserve with lovely walks. Visitor farm and children's play area
We visit fairly regularly, sometimes for coffee and scones but more often than not for lunch. The staff are very friendly and the building itself attractive, clean and well maintained. It can be busy at peak lunch times. The home bakes in particular are exceptional and I just love the homemade soups.Sandwiches are always well filled with lovely combos eg brie, bacon and cranberry.Mmmmm.

I am usually in The Airlie Arms, in Kirriemuir, on Saturday mornings, for a regular meeting, but unforseen circumstances caused me to have to face the winter-logged road to Forfar this snowy day and I had an hour's wait to endure so repaired to Purdy's Coffee Shop, in Castle Street, to see if they too sold teas. No worries on that count. Three young ladies were on duty and, quickly, I had my tea on the table and my bacon and egg roll on the way. I was completely delighted with the very welcome service, food and drink I received there ... In nice, clean and tidy, pleasantly simple surroundings.
The wee place filled up quickly and it became, thought I, a fine local pit stop esp for those who crave company and good food.

Alighted from our car after a very short drive, on a very cold but clear December day, into the busy car park of The Forfar ⛳ Golf Range Cafe for a much needed light lunch somewhere familiar, clean and warm. Found a suitable table; wife...MoreThank you for your excellent review, and kind words. Can’t agree with you more . Look forward to seeing you again. Happy new year.

The Osnaburg is where a pub crashes into a restaurant. An excellent gastro pub in which food and drink are treated with equal reverence. Our bar is a warm, relaxed and comfortable environment located beside Asda and Forfar Swimming Pool. You will find something for all tastes in our eclectic menu which ranges from Cajun Chicken to our famous home made quarter pounder burger. We source locally an
We waited ages for food - starter the waitress (who was lovely and very young) apologised the food was ok, we then waited a further 30 minutes for a kids pizza, 3 steak pies and southern fried burger, my mother ate a bit of pie and mash which she said was cold, I then had a mouthful of pie and that was cold and my fathers was frozen all the way through, the poor waitress apologised profusely however the person who runs it and chef (if you can call him that!!!) left her to it!!! Disgusting

We met for our Christmas Lunch in a restaurant that we had never previously visited We chose this one because it was convenient for all of us as we were coming from different directions and all except me had Forfar connections either having been born or brought up there. Two had frequented the location when it was the Palais ballroom. This room is now a snooker hall. The ambience of the dining room was great, the food was excellent and the service was first class. A lovely lunch and a great day out. Thoroughly recommended!

This is the second time I’ve stopped here. On both occasions I found service excellent. Food tasted freshly made, very tasty, well seasoned and good sized portions.
I felt for the money paid good value based on the quality and service. Easy to access off main road.
Well done to the staff. Will visit again.
