The lunch menu is great value and average about A$25-30 a person. It normally includes the egg custard, sides, soup, and main. Definitely worth every buck!! My friends and I often visit this restaurant during lunch over the weekend and it is a MUST book! Don't expect a table if you turn up out of the blue because they are that popular!
The egg custard is to die for...!!!
Probably just on a side note, the service for this visit wasn't all that great as they normally have only two sessions over lunch (12-1 and 1-2pm) right after that the staff would normally have their meals. As we only finished at about 2pm, you definitely could feel them chasing you out...! But come for the food!

Went with a colleague for a quick lunch. Fortunately we 'got quick' and we got good food and service. Pleasant location away from the main road.
The staff were friendly & accommodating making us feel wanted. We only had a main course, the Lemon peppered Calamari which was light, well cooked just the ticket. Vowed to return on another occasion.

You must start with Arancini balls, delicious! My husband raved about The Marinara and unanimously desserts were awesome, especially the donuts. We had the best night and service made the evening just so delightful. Often the difference between a good meal and a great one is the friendliness of the service and tonight everything just clicked for us and we can’t wait to return.

This is an excellent local (for me) restaurant and I'm sure people in my region would appreciate seeing a review.
A group of us went here and we all thoroughly enjoyed what we ordered. They brought out the dishes a bit randomly and forgot totally to bring one but were very apologetic and brought it out not long after.
The food was excellent and had a good spice and the portions were a great size too. Not sure about the desserts as we were all too full!
Would definitely make a return visit.

We ordered a smoked salmon pizza to share for starters. It was just delicious.
My husband ordered the barramundi in the specials and really enjoyed it. I ordered the veal scallopini. It looked ok, but as soon as I got into the veal it was tough and chewy. So much so, that I had to spit my mouthful into my hand. Not nice, the potato and cauliflower mash was absolutely tasteless and lumpy. Sauce was mustard and just ok. Not a success. As this is the second meal here which has been dodgy, I would not like to go again, there are plenty more restaurants to try in the area.

- Modern Hispanic restaurant and bar in Glen Waverley serving innovative food using quality ingredients - Takes Reservations and Walk-Ins - Great for Groups and Special Occasions with waiter service - Catering - Outdoor Seating
Our family recently dined at The Black Toro, and thoroughly enjoyed the creative and utterly delicious tapas we ordered. We voted the croquettes, corn and empanadas 5 stars and really liked the bbq chicken and fried chicken too. Pizzini muscato served by the glass and efficient and friendly service by all the staff who served us really helped to round off an excellent meal. We found the restaurant to be pretty pricey - too expensive to become a regular...but we will definitely return when we have an occasion to celebrate and don't mind spending just that bit more than usual.

The Groove Train is a wood fired restaurant, cafe & bar. Opening Hours: 9 am til late - 7 days
We didn't want to push the staff but after 45 minutes it turned out the system lost our order and they don't regularly check everyone's been served. (They'd last served someone 20 minutes before)
Once they got on top of things the food was prepared quickly, presented well and was delicious.
I'd recommend checking with the staff if your meal is taking a while to prepare. Apart from that, we'd go back.

The food descriptions reminded us of Indian food but that is where the similarity ended. We shared a large charcoal chicken as entree for 4 people because the entree selection was limited and not really appealing. Beautiful flavours and juicy chicken especially if you sprinkled sumac on the meat. We then ordered a large rice, beef vindaloo, spicy mushroom and ghormeh sabzi. The vindaloo serve was more sauce than meat but all the dishes were quite unique flavours and very tasty. We were going to order 4 Akbar Mashdi desserts but our friendly waitress suggested 2 shared was probably enough. Very busy and i can understand why - it really does show off the flavours of Persia.
