For over 25 years, Amerigo has been a local Jackson favorite. Authentic Italian pastas, hand-made pizzas, fresh seafood and wood-fired steaks offer something for everyone at Amerigo. And if your tastes veer toward wine, you'll find everything from affordable, every day wines to single vineyard varietals from Piedmont to Sicily. Amerigo serves lunch and dinner daily, as well as brunch on Sunday. Early bird is available daily between 4-6pm, and we offer over 15 gluten-free dishes to choose from. We also cater! Our Sales Manager will work with you to create a customized menu for your special event. Delivery and full-service catering options are available.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in town. I love the bread and seasoned olive oil. I usually order salmon, but today I had the redfish topped with crab meat. It was outstanding. The "slice" of key lime pie was more like half a pie, and in my all time top 3. Service is always excellent.

The first time I went here, I had the catfish plate. It was quite good, but I sampled my husband's rib plate, and there's been no looking back--it's been the rib plate for me ever since. In all fairness, there are any number of other things you can choose from, but I think they serve the best ribs in the metro area.
You can use the drive through or place your order inside at the counter. You are speedily served with your meal in a styrofoam container. It's very casual, obviously, and there are tables inside or you can sit outside. I've never been here when they weren't doing a very brisk business both inside and with the drive through, but you will get your order quickly.
Unless your idea of going out to eat is a place with soft background music and white tablecloths, you should check out the Frisco Deli without delay.

excellent food and service. Go early to avoid the noise. Well varied menu with excellent seafood choices. Their nightly specials are great and you can always depend on the quality of their food. Would never hesitate to take a guest there for lunch or dinner. Only place in town I can occasionally get sweetbreads.

We ate at a table in the bar so we could listen to the piano player who was a friend of a friend. Service was good. We shared the huge order of yummy fried crab claws and then my friends had a nice steak. As I allowed our server to choose for me, I had the evening special of steak tips over a bleu cheese sauce which was good. But the macaroni and cheese was star of the evening.
I was disappointed they did not have a happy hour as most finer restaurants offer but we did learn that's in the works soon.

What a special place right in the middle of Jackson! Love that the flavors rotate, always something new and fun to try. I am partial to the fruit flavored pops! Great outdoor and indoor seating.

We had a great dinner here. Food was lightning fast even though it was crowded, service was prompt and helpful, and I loved the thin, crispy catfish. The gumbo was also good. Would love to return. Wish they had a longer beer list, though.

The staff handled our large party with finesse. From local beers on tap to appetizers to entrees to desserts, everything was wonderful. The children in our party were happy with their choices and all of the adults enjoyed their selections. Needless to say, most of the desserts were shared as we were at capacity from the good sized entree servings. It would be difficult to single out one dish as the best of the best. I hope to return at a later date to try more menu items.

Half Shell Oyster House is an upscale casual Southern / Seafood restaurant with something for everyone, we specialize in seafood including fish, shrimp, Royal Reds, crab and of course oysters but also offer steaks, chicken, pastas and much more.
I love and miss the south Louisiana seafood joints with my seared yellowfin. So to my surprise when i saw it on Half Shells menu i had to try it. Cooked to perfection (seared on both sides) and tasted fantastic. Got the sample platter of oysters too for an appetizer and they were great as well. Can’t wait to go back and try something else. Looks like a good place to be on a Friday and Saturday night.

I come to Flowood annually on business & have been visiting Georgia Blue at least once on each of these visits for several years.
The first thing I not about GB is it always friendly. Hostess, server, chef seem genuinely happy to be there. That makes customers happy to be there.
I have eaten a wide variety of soups & entrees and have never been disappointed.
Gumbo is always excellent, but can vary a bit from visit to visit because it is made in-house every day.
Seafood is fresh. Seasonings are bold. Presentations are artful.
I have no reason to not visit again next time I am in the Jackson area.

We got there shortly after 11 and I'm glad we did because it got packed with customers by 11:30ish. Very tasty food, decent prices, and the girl helping us at the front counter was very friendly. Two thumbs way up on service, selection, prices, and for some awesome t-shirts because who doesn't need a Pig & Pint tshirt?
