Five hours travelled in the car from London but we made it on time.
Well worth every second to get here as the food is second to none and probably one of the best meals you would ever of had.
Kathy in the kitchen is a master Chef who understands flavours and has an eye for presentation. Ricardo’s table service and front of house presence is fantastic, together they make the Chronicle a top restaurant that you must visit.
Today we have celebrated our engagement at this special place.
Thank you Chronicle

Last night 34 of us came to The Swan for a 50th Birthday Party, we had all pre ordered, but were able to change our food if we wanted, staff seated us and were very attentive with drinks orders. We were seated on time, and all guests that ordered starters were served really quickly. I had Pate, served with Toast and a redcurrant jelly, it was delicious, and a really good sized portion. Him in doors had a prawn cocktail, very retro, but again, really good size portion and very flavoursome. Our friends had soup, which tasted homemade, and whitebait, both were lovely. For main course I had Cod wrapped in parma ham on a crab risotto and served with veg, the fish was moist and so fresh, the parma ham salty and crispy, delicious. Him in doors had 10oz Steak, served with all the trimmings, again, cooked to perfection. My friend had chicken tagliatelle served with a stilton sauce and broccoli, she said it was lovely. All 34 guests had our starters, main meals and desserts served at the same time, no one waited, no one had cause to return any food to the kitchen, we were all really impressed.
Other meals that were highly praised were the Lamb pie, steak and ale pie and the Thai curry. All meals are reasonably priced, and all staff were really friendly and attentive, We all agreed that we would not hesitate to return, Matt and the team at The Swan deserve all the praise they get, Well done and Thank you :)

The River Exe Cafe is a floating barge just off the Ski lane on the River Exe, and is in the heart of Exmouth’s water sports fraternity, wakeboarding, waterskiing, kayaking, sailing to name just a few, however it is also situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, protected by Natural England. Open from April to September only . The Exe Estuary is home to many rare birds and creatures including Avocets, Osprey and of course our friendly grey seal. With the potential to take up to 100 people on board the Cafe has been designed very much like the “Ski in Ski out” wooden chalets found on the ski slopes of many ski resorts, but with the intention that the quality of food and service exceeds all expectations of the external look and feel. The barge has a licensed bar and covered outdoor space with heaters and indoor Seating to relax well into the evening without suffering the cold. Customers to the barge really are of all ages and walks of life, ranging from the usual river users and water sports enthusiasts to bird watchers, artists and holiday makers. Special events such as birthday parties, anniversaries, stag & hen parties to corporate & team building days can be arranged. Private and exclusive use of the barge is also available.
Visited for my cousins 30th birthday some months ago and really enjoyed it. We got the rover taxi over from Exmouth and once we’d finished our food got the river taxi back. I had my 3 month old daughter with me at the time but that didn’t matter, they were very accommodating with this. The food was great and wasn’t overly expensive. The staff were excellent and very friendly. If you’re after going for a meal with a bit of something different about it then this is the place to go.

Called in Thursday for lunch. First time we had been there. Very smart bar and restaurant and we were warmly greeted by the barman. Nice feeling to the place and we opted for two courses for £13.95. The food was first class and exceptional value for money. Lovely waitress - nothing was too much trouble. A real gem of a restaurant and I would recommend to anyone. We will certainly be back.

Hi Everyone! Food served 6pm - 9 pm Tuesday - Saturday. We have relocated from Beacon Vaults over to Millers Restaurant in High Street, Exmouth. We hope you will continue to support us.Thanks Andy and Lynne x
Had a lovely meal to celebrate my dads birthday. The steaks were spot on and the "Smugglers" pie was delicious. My wife had a vegetarian meal and was very happy with it. The chef obviously had put a lot of effort into getting decent ingredients and preparing them right. The soup for a starter was rich and flavorful.
Staff were attentive and the atmosphere was very relaxed.

Krispies Award Winning Fish & Chips
We had 'chicken and chips' and 'pea fitter and chips'. The service was brisk, and the quality and the quantity were both excellent. We resisted the battered chips, tempting though they looked - although amusing to see the humble chip re-designated as the 'traditional chip'. Heh.
