Modern Esbjerg is the country's largest port and the base of Denmark's oil industry. Central sights are easily explored on foot, and buses shuttle to the Fisheries and Maritime Museum, where Denmark's fishing history is celebrated. Visitors should explore the main streets: Skolegade is crammed with bars, and pedestrian-only Kongensgade bustles with 150 shops and restaurants. Home to the original Legoland, this city of 85,000 also offers fun daytrips to picturesque Fano, 12 minutes away by ferry.

Cool place in the center of Esbjerg. Mini burgers (asiatic flavor, sausage , vegan, etc). The waiter was a nice guy, very kind. We had the menu translated and very good suggestions for the beer (All day IPA and Lagunitas). Original sides with kale and pomegrenate.

Sands doesn’t look like much on the outside, but the moment you step inside you’ll feel the “old Danish atmosphere”.
And sure, from a younger generations perspective it might seem a bit outdated, but from my point og view - that’s what makes it charming
Our host was smiling, welcoming and utmost professionel; we had no Reservations, but she still managed to make us feel like we had and let us choose from several tables.
Breadbasket and drinks came within a blink of an eye and both appetizer and maincourse followed this.
Personally I liked my appetizer better than my maincourse, but I usually prefer danish dining in general and when you experience such an amount on (almost) daily basis - it’s hard to be no. 1 every time
Overall a great experience and yet again a place with standard prices in Denmark.
We were FULL and pleased; our check sounded 600 dkkr. (app. 80€) and we had:
2 appetizers
2 maincourses
2 drinks
Short: you get what you pay for - would definitely return

It would have been nice to see outside overlooking the river but although it was July it felt like April. As we passed by the menu board outside in the afternoon it convinced us to go in a reserve a table just to ensure we got a table. We both had Brown Shrimps with Avocado Creme Brulee with mild Chilli Oil and Sun-dried Tomato wafer and my second course of Steamed and Roast Plaice was superb. Not cheap but very good. Fairly busy for mid-week visit

Having read previous reviews, we booked ourselves in for lunch on Sunday. We each had the platter, which was absolutely delightful and astinishingly good value. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was welcoming and the setting lovely. We would not hesitate to go again!

Try to visit here each year when i am in Esbjerg, this year was no exception and the quality still brilliant. Good menue with some great fresh fish dishes. I had my usual Stjerneskud, which is fried white fish with prawns, caviar, smoked salmon and is so tasty.
Will be back again next year

Our Danish friends chose this restaurant as part of our accomodations package and it was wonderful. My husband has food allergies and the kitchen fixed him a plate of the same food we had but that was gluten-and-soya-free. The food, every course, was absolute perfection.

We went there for lunch. It was very crowded and everytime someone at the nabourtable wanted to go, we had to get up. The dishes did not meet our expectations - a salad for around 100kr with ONE egg, a very SMALL portion of tuna. Very disappointing
