Once again I stopped in this fine place, the level of service is outstanding. The blueberry pie shake is back. Stopped in earlier this week and no pies but I came back and more pies were ordered. That level of customer care is scarce.
I walked and said hello to the owner who then offered to mske my perfect shake for me. Perfect is the not word but out of this world comes close.
Saw a similar offering at a different location but did not try it. Once you have the best your search is over so just come here and get spoiled.

The pork wonton tacos and chicken and waffles ordered by our group were excellent. Other items were tasty and well seasoned.
We were unhappy because one of our party ordered the French onion grilled cheese and after two of us tasted it and another smelled it, we were certain the bread was on the edge of turning moldy.
After informing the server, she came back and said the kitchen had just received a bread order and that it was thyme they used to season the sandwich that was the cause. Either their bread company is not being careful or they are overseasoning, because it tasted of mold.
This negatively impacted our experience. We are not unreasonable people - I think this may be the first less than positive review I’ve ever left on trip advisor. I was a little flabbergasted at this response to a customer concern.
That said, the ambiance was appealing and the service was fine.

The Front Porch is primarily a coffee shop with some quiche options available. The muffins, cookies and quiches are good, but do not expect a full sit-down breakfast. The coffee is well-rounded. This was my kind of breakfast.

Crapola World Headquarters is a bustling production bakery with a cafe attached. We make premium quality granola in-house, and serve parfaits, smoothies made from scratch, coffee and juice drinks to go. Our bakery case features a rotating display of artisan sourdough breads as well as bulk granola and energy bars. Indoor seating is available with free wifi. Sometimes we play the music kinda loud.

Just a few loaves of this excellent bread are produced each week; get there on Thursdays at 2:30-3:00pm for sourdough artisan loaves hot out of the oven; each loaf is hand kneaded individually, has dense texture and a distinct sour flavor. Some of the best bread I've ever eaten.

I live just outside Ely, and this is my breakfast place! Here you get more than you`d expect, and it`s great food. Just a couple "heads up though"......
#1 It is a cash only place, no checks or credit cards.
#2 When the town is full of visitors from spring through fall, expect it to be crowded. The early birds headed fishing to start with. But at about 9-10 am the place can get down right packed, and there is good reason for that. BUT, even if you have to wait a bit, you will be glad you did. There is not one thing on the breakfast line up I`d turn you away from. Bonnie, the owner and cook, is the best there is! The place is small, but hay, it`s a small town anyway.

Great place to have desert in Ely after dinner. I had a chocolate malt and my wife a chocolate shake, our friends had cups of frozen custard. All were really good. Well worth a stop.

Log Cabin Coffee offers quick drive-through service on our way to work. The staff know our names and Marolyn's homemade pound cake is so yummy rich! Oh, did I say the coffee is uber-excellent, too? It is. Great addition to the coffee scene in Ely.

While traveling in Northern Minnesota you will not find a better place for an excellent meal. the Steak I ordered was done to perfection. The others had Burgers and some sea food, all excellent. the desert tray was so inviting I had time passing it up but the diet won't allow such indulgence. The Service was great without hovering and very concerned the food was prepared properly.

The weather was hot when we were there, and this DQ delivered the sweet , cooling reward . During the 4th of July parade, the staff there marched around with buckets of ice cream bars . Good advertising and made us feel good.
The staff at this location are friendly and courteous, attentive. The location was clean and up to date.
