2 sisters plus a brother and his wife return to a past local favorite while traveling I-75.
Items ordered: Spicy seafood gumbo @ $5. Outstanding! It was spicy, but not too spicy.
Basa Roma: Moist white fish topped with a lemon, garlic, tomato, basil, caper sauce. Comes with two sides: ordered the seasoned rice and coleslaw. Coleslaw has a little bit of a pineapple flavor to it... very good
Half a slab of ribs: very flavorful... not dried out. Ordered with red potatoes and coleslaw
All you can eat fish and chips: came with 4 pieces of fish. Fish was fresh and not too heavily breaded. The four pieces of fish was enough and we did not order additional fish even though it was all you can eat for the extra dollar. Fries were standard.
Our waitress was Vicki and she couldn’t of been nicer. She offered menu suggestions and serviced our every need.
We will return when in the vicinity. Thank you, John Horn, for such an inviting restaurant.

I had Fried Combo Platter - Crunchy panko fried Haddock, sweet clam strips and five crispy straight shrimp served along side your desired - two homemade sides. The haddock (??) was a little dry. The clam strips were puny and overcooked. The shrimp was good. Would return but would not have their clam strips.

An Italian Caffe, Bakery, and Market... Fresh baked bread, Hand made Pasta, and Authentic homemade sauces available. All cold cuts and cheeses are imported and can be sliced to order or made into mouth-watering sandwiches. Come in for a sweet treat and a coffee, or settle in for a meal with friends and family!
Located in the Village of Arts in Bradenton, Arte Cafe is a surprisingly sophisticated Italian restaurant featuring mainly home made entrees covering a wide selection of pastas, pizzas, meats, sandwiches and cheeses. They do not have a liquor license but encourage guests to bring their own wine which they serve with no corkage fee.
Very friendly and well trained staff add to the ambiance. We were seated for a weekend lunch with no problem but learned that evenings are best secured with a reservation.

With the smoky smell of barbecue in the air your taste buds start perking when you walk through the door! The choice of two sides to go with your meal can be an adventure alone with many unusual selections that change nightly. One member of our group had corn pudding and stewed tomatoes, another had sauerkraut, pea pods, and they always have mashed potatoes or french fries. Love this place, our favorite so far are the pork shanks - but we'll be back to try more customer favorites!

My Husband & I relocated to Florida this past year (Parrish, FL).
My husband loves to check out & use Locals businesses (Mom & Pop's).
We have been to Butterfield's Restaurant several times. It is located in Parrish, FL main road: Highway 301 (in a strip mall).
As other posts have noted: Excellent value for the money, Friendly servers; and is one of our favorite Go-to-places for us (& other local relatives).
We joke about living our Good Life, "Living on the 301" Highway (includes Butterfield's Restaurant)!! We will continue our Good Life on the 301, including Butterfield's Restaurant

This restaurant sits at the end of a pier surrounded by a marina filled with big, expensive sailboats. This setting on the Manatee River is outstanding but our meals were mediocre at best.I had the blackened gulf scallops which had a seasoning unlike any blackened seafood I have ever had. The flavor was more of a southwest type seasoning which did not add anything to a seafood dish. The scallops themselves had a too firm texture that was not typical of a smooth fresh scallop. My companions both had the lobster pie and both said that the pie had too much gravy and too little lobster with a flavoring that did not compliment the dish(thyme?) None of our meals were piping hot even though we were seated inside. Our experience has us scratching our heads in puzzlement over all the positive reviews.

At Ortygia Restaurant in our artsy 1920's vintage bungalow we offer a unique, culinary experience. Located just minutes from downtown Bradenton. We offer French/Sicilian cuisine in a small, intimate, indoor or outdoor setting. Where many venues offer an array of glitz and glitter, the attraction of Ortygia is its eclectic charm, unparalleled backdrop, the beauty of nature and an abiding sense of La Bella Vita! Add the ambiance of candles, torches, lights, music and laughter, Ortygia glows with its own brand of beauty that lures people back over and over again. Our distinctive and exceptional cuisine is just another reason so many individuals choose Ortygia to host their special events.
Located in an old house in a residential area. You wonder if you are going to the correct place. Small. Friendly efficient service. Had the specials. Veal osso buco with penne and tuna with eggplant and roasted Brussels sprouts. Bottle of Sicilian white wine and shared a started of roasted golden beets. Total cost with tip $125. Food nicely seasoned—not over seasoned with good flavours. Tomato sauce on osso buco was very good

We are a local favorite thanks to our delicious food, "Old Florida" vibe, outstanding service and of course terrific views! We offer live music 5 days and week with two acts playing on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Karaoke is a great night to come to on Tuesdays! When you arrive you can sit yourself at any of our tables, from the outdoor patio, inside dining, or our very own TIKI ISLAND! Remember, if it's busy, it may take a bit longer for your made to order food, but where can you go and wait while sitting and drinking, listening to music or simply enjoying the views of the Manatee River!
Looked like a cute place to enjoy a sunset under tiki huts so we stopped. No hostess so had to hover over a table like musical chairs to get a spot to sit. Service was quick but only half of our order came, server didn't notice until 20 min later. Small portions, not warm. Would not call it the best food

Traditional pub food with a great view. Wait staff friendly and attentive. Seasonal salad tasty but chicken was dry and overcooked. Calamari was almost too greasy and lacked taste.

This is a gem of a hometown restaurant. The shakes are made from real ice cream, the burgers are juicy and tasty, and the place is clean and well maintained. Our server was delightful and steered us toward the burgers and hush puppies, which did not disappoint. While the building is older, it's clean and well maintained. I'd drive out of my way to go here.
