Located East Side of US 31 - 2 Miles North of I65 - 1 mile South of Hospital Rd. Seasonal - open for 2018 = THANKS
7 of us are lunch here Thursday after the short drive from Atterbury. The brisket and wings received high praise from my comrades, I enjoyed my hot sausage sandwich, potato salad, and sweet tea. The place was ranked number one and we could see business is booming. I recommend arriving early. They have a climate controlled garage for overflow seating as well as a covered picnic area outside. I endorse this BBQ joint.

timely. We ordered the French onion soup. I returned my soup as it was comparable to licking a cube of salt. My husband ordered a strawberry salad and I ordered a Bison burger. After waiting 20 mins we got the attention of the Manager who checked on our order. Needless to say the salad that arrived was not the one ordered and looked as if it were filled with old lettuce. My burger was cold. The server never came back to refill our drinks during the entire lunch. Thus establishment needs an overhaul. Spend your money elsewhere.

My wife and I stopped for an early dinner on a weekday. There was not a very large crowd and they had plenty of staff. We had a very pleasant waitress who provided good service. I had the meatloaf and my wife had the chicken and dumplings. They were both good. Her cole slaw was very average, and my cheesy grits needed a lot of salt. Our other sides were very good - green beans, fried apples, side salad, hash brown casserole. Very reasonable prices. No wifi, which is strange since every table has a tent talking about their new app you can download.

I was traveling with my family for a shopping trip to the Outlet Mall here in Edinburgh and we saw this restaurant and decided to give it a try based on previous experiences in Indy. BIG MISTAKE! The service was about the worst I had ever experienced. We arrived at 1:00pm. Took nearly 20 minutes before we ordered. Then took another 30 minutes before the food arrived at our table. It was nearly 2 hours before we finally paid our bill. Totally unacceptable. The waitress kept telling us that they got slammed by ball teams that kept arriving. But that is totally BULL. It's a Saturday and we were already seated. There is no acceptable excuse for POOR service. I certainly don't expect this restaurant to be open much longer if they keep coming up with excuses like that for poor service. In fact, due to the poor service, it is highly unlikely we will ever go back to a Max & Erma's in Indy. Enough said....

In 1972, Max & Erma created a fun, unique, gourmet hamburger restaurant you could take friends & family to, decorating it with quirky artifacts & local paraphernalia. Since that day, we’ve been committed to providing our guests with delicious all-American food & friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere the whole neighborhood can enjoy. We’ve grown over the years, but always remain true to what made us successful—delivering a great guest experience. After all, Max & Erma wouldn’t have it any other way.
We got carry-out food from here while staying at the nearby Holiday Inn Express (fantastic hotel). Bartender that took our order was super nice and we got 10% discount for being a hotel guest. Food was great; we had the tortilla soup, club sandwich and chicken fajita quesadilla.

There's one thing that one should expect from chain restaurants like Applebee's: consistency. The menu is fixed and the item that you order in, say, Texas should come out pretty much the same in Indiana - ideally to the same high standard. Well, we stopped at this Applebee's for lunch recently and ordered our usual: the cedar grilled lemon chicken, along with a side salad. The side salad came out first and was somewhat disappointing, being almost all lettuce with a few croutons, but hardly any grated cheese or bacon bits. The chicken was next. As usual, it comes on a bed of rice, but here the rice was not prepared properly with several rather unappetizing clumps mixed in. The chicken breast itself was cooked okay and, per Applebee's standard, was sliced up for presentation. Unfortunately. whoever did the slicing was having a bad day as the breast was not so much sliced as hacked up - leaving us a somewhat difficult job to reassemble the bits into bites. Overall, if you have the desire to eat at an Applebee's, you might want to drive into Columbus and eat at the one near the mall. We've never had a bad meal there.

We have eaten here a couple of times after moving down to Columbus/Edinburgh in July 2017. The service has been very good and the food was decent as expected for a Ruby Tuesday Restaurant. It's close to the Edinburgh Mall so if you're shopping there, this restaurant is convenient.

The Great American Grill is the full-service dining operation at Hilton Garden Inn at Edinburgh, and while we live 15 miles away in Columbus, we often prefer to travel here for breakfast on weekends. The dining room is comfortable, well-furnished in contemporary style, and immaculately maintained. The servers are unfailingly cordial, efficient, and attentive. There are all the typical breakfast buffet items--pastries, fresh fruit, cereals, bagels, yogurt, juices (You know the drill), and also hot items such as bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, and the like. Then, there are made-to-order offerings such as omelets of your choice, French toast, waffles, hot cakes--You get the idea. The coffee is good and hot, too. We find the price to be very right, less than we often spend at national chain breakfast joints (You know who they are!) for less food of lower quality. As I said earlier, this is one of our Favorites.

On a recent few day jaunt into central Indiana, my wife and I stopped in Edinburgh - the main reason was to visit their outlet mall but my wife wanted to go to the downtown section of this small village as there is a popcorn shop there that Joan wanted to stop at again.
While downtown, we decided to eat some lunch. I don’t know why it is but this little town has several restaurants. I counted six places to eat on Main Street within a stretch of about 200 yards (seven, if you count the one that looked like it was no longer in business).
We chose to eat at Lil Bertha’s Place. We knew it would be good - the place was nearly packed. We had chicken & noodles, mashed potatoes & gravy and dinner rolls with butter (yeah, pretty starchy, I know) - the food was quite good - as was my iced tea. The tables and booths were filled with folks from all walks of life - young and old, in working clothes and nicer attire, from both sides of the tracks. And there was one particularly colorful patron - a 50-something gentleman with a large walking stick who, after finishing his meal, decided to entertain the rest of us by singing a couple songs. I didn’t ask who he was; I assumed he was the “village eccentric”.
And the ladies working there were genuinely interested in your having a good meal. I asked the cashier if she was Lil Bertha; she was not but pointed out the restaurant’s namesake working in the kitchen. She also told me that her name wasn’t Bertha but Kay. So I had to ask.... and learned that her mother was Bertha but people say that Kay looks and acts just like her mother. Bertha would have been there too but she had taken the day off - in recognition of her 79th birthday. This kind of experience rates very high in my book; we thoroughly enjoyed this, quintessential small town diner. You can’t help but leave with a smile on your heart. I even thought about leaving my hat on while inside the diner like most all the other men. But, alas, 45+ years ago, the US Army told me, in no uncertain terms - if you’re outside: hat is on; if you’re inside: hat is off. And for the life of me, I just can’t seem to break that rule.
With tax and gratuity: twenty bucks.
