Super top level - definitely recommendable. Danish / Classic French cuisine w delicious springtime ingredients. No question this place would totally deserve 1* for both kitchen and service. Very pleasant experience, cosy location and great value for money.

If you are expecting white table cloths and posh waiters, find somewhere else to go. This is gourmet food served in a wonderful garden and a back yard where there was a canopy and heaters to warm us on this rather chilly summer evening. It's something out of the ordinary and while enjoying the excellent food, we sat back and relaxed. Even though all the tables were booked (you really need to book at least when we were there in July), you are left to eat in peace and quiet. There was no rush to get us out of the restaurant to let others in. We could choose between a set four course meal, just one of the main courses or a picnic. We chose the four course meal and it was absolutely fabulous. Ecological, local food, some of it even came from the herbal garden and the vegetable patch not far from where we were sitting as far as we could make out. If we had the chance, we would have gone there again and tried the picnic as some of the other guests did as this also looked very nice: they received a colourful plastic basket with plates and cutlery and loads of small jars containing the different «tapas».

Ebeltoft branch of this superior chain of icecream shops
Paradis has the best ice cream in Ebeltoft in my opinion! They serve italian gelato ice cream with both traditional and limited edition flavours. We tried the buttered caramel popcorn flavour and it was quite fun with popcorn in the ice cream. They have Seating inside and outside as well. Lacks a bit of charm, but the ice cream is so good it´s okay! Good coffee as well.

First of all recently Denmark became maybe even better then France as regards food. There are plenty of best restaurants e.g. Arhus where it is almost impossible to find bad restaurant. Also in Ebeltoft small city but placed close to ferry terminal there are few very good restaurants. Food in Strand Hotel restaurant was very good but too salty. Fish was very good fried but cook had a problem with salt. Everything was too salty in fact.
Generally You should not be dissapointed visiting the restaurant - one of the biggest advantege is also location directly by the sea bay.

Booked our lunch a couple of days earlier, arrived in Ebeltoft in Sunshine and walked the beautiful old roads down to 'den skaeve kro' (or the leaning inn - translated).
The old cottage is full of atmosphere, and the hosts do everything in their power to make the guests feel welcome - it's their trademark. However, as we were placed at our table in the cozy sorroundings, we had a not so experienced waiter (not one of the two pre-mentioned hosts). We ordered Veggie burger, Fried fish with chips, a traditionel platte (heering, fried fish, paté etc. with rye bread).
The food was good without being fantastic. But it was fair value for money, as it wasn't that expensive.
Selection of beer was excellent, they served the 'Syndikatet' brand - a local brand with 7-8 different variations, each one excellent in their own field, whether it was Wheat Beer or Stout Ale.
We did eventually after paying get a taste of the hosts hospitality and life giving nature, as we got to talk about some art in one of the dining rooms.
Would recommend, but you'll need attention from one of the two owners(the hosts).

Cozy old tavern in the centre of town. The rooms look like they've not changed much since the 18th Century -- very charming. The food is on the traditional side, but with some international elements. Good wine list with emphasis on Italian reds (the knowledgable owner also tuns a small wine shop in the cellar), and good, solid food at affordable prices. Very likely the best place to eat in the town centre.

Dined at Nils on a warm July summer night. We were greeted by friendly but rushed staff. The food was average (steak was dry) however the atmosphere in the backyard made up for it. It was so lovely with all the little humorous signs dotted around. During dinner 2 night watchers came in to sing in Danish. A truly wonderful experience. This place is full of “hygge”.

Located right on the waterfront and next to the Frigate this is a lovely location for lunch. The food was very good and they had a menu in English too. Large tables and an outside Terrace. Seemed to be popular with families although we easily got a seat the day we visited (Sunday lunch time).

This place opened in 2013 and has a great simplistic menu (which I love) with a few tasty choices.
We had the 'Stjerneskud' and the smoked halibut for lunch. Both dishes were delicious and the service was excellent.
Great place - highly recommended and I believe they are open all year unlike other places in Ebeltoft which have seasonal opening hours.

If you ever wanted to de-accelerate, this is the place to go. Luisa and Henrik will welcome you with the smile from the depths of their hearts and will serve the food you will not be able to forget. We've been in Ebeltoft for 4 days and every day at least once in Moeslund cafe. Every time with joy!
