The Eastern Cape is a province of South Africa. Its capital is Bhisho, but its two largest cities are Port Elizabeth and East London. It was formed in 1994 out of the Xhosa homelands of Transkei and Ciskei, together with the eastern portion of the Cape Province. Landing place and home of the 1820 settlers, the central and eastern part of the province is the traditional home of the Xhosa people.

Restaurant with contemporary interior, stunning sea views, outside deck, secure parking. Extensive contemporary menu.
Service was excellent and food was treat hut it was very noisy, no music - its not the right ambiance for a fine dining restaurant.Once again WE ARE NOT A FINE DINING RESTAURANT. PLEASE we serve fine food and wine. We do not pretend to be a fine dining restaurant. The definition of fine food is Good Food.

During one week stay in Jeffrey’s Bay, we went kitchen window 3 times! I don’t usually go to the same restaurant during the same holiday. Kitchen window is amazing from the view, the food, the wine, the service, etc. my 4 yo son was sleeping. The waiter used two chairs and lots of towels to make a super comfortable bed for my son. The good choices are also good. My kids enjoyed the bake fish and rice. My favorite is bake Camembert cheese.
If you can only go to one restaurant in Jeffrey’s bay, go kitchen window.

Our friends brought us here for Tapas just after the new year.
Nice atmosphere and a pretty good view from the upstairs balcony looking out towards the Ocean, just a shame about the building opposite.
Service was a tad slow for our liking, especially in taking our drinks order first but the food was very good indeed.
The calamari and prawns were excellent and the salad I had was very good.
I would come back here again and can recommend.

Graze by the River is a coffee bar and bistro situated in one of the original 1820 settler's home next to the banks of the Kowie River in Port Alfred. The venue boasts a private garden area at the back of the property where you can escape from the busy Van der Riet street at the front of the property and enjoy freshly roasted coffee or sample some of the many homemade dishes on offer. The menu is based on locally available produce from fresh seafood, smoked meats and organic vegetables grown in the garden on site, interesting tasty dishes are supplemented by daily specials. The restaurant has its own smoker for preparing a lot of the dishes and the coffee bar roasts its own green beans daily ensuring good quality fresh coffee. So whether your looking for a great breakfast, some coffee and cake or a tasty homemade meal come and enjoy the experience of Graze by the River. Evening meals are strictly by reservation and we are closed on Wednesday.
Nick, the chef/owner is passionate about his food and where he sources his ingredients. Fish, meat and vegetables are obviously very fresh and of good quality, and he turns them into some great dishes, particularly the ones on the daily "specials" board which are always delicious.
We've eaten there 3 times recently, often taking guests, and never been disappointed.
Service is always excellent, with Nick introducing his specials in his own inimitable style, then taking the time to get feedback from each guest once served.
This is best restaurant in town right now in our opinion.

A quaint restaurant and coffee shop situated right on the main route through the beautiful town of Cradock. We pride ourselves on excellent coffee and homemade soul food. A bakery where fresh artisan bread is available as well as a delicatessen section. True Living is also stocked with loads of local produce like knitwear, jams and mohair products.
Almost a year after we visited True Living, we returned on our way to the seaside. We were welcomed like long lost friends and enjoyed the most wonderful breakfast and lunch at True Living. The True Living team (Lani and Louzel) are now "celebs" as they appeared on the local Television program, "My Kitchen Rules", where they showed the rest of the country why Karoo lamb is so special. We hope to return soon, as True Living is exactly what the name says... True Living, True People.

Mellas is a Dim-Sum Noodle that serves Freshly made Dim-Sum and Noodles in a relaxed atmosphere with good Music and Great Wines.
Mellas is an exceptionally creative restaurant. The chef's creative flair transforms traditional Chinese dumplings into exceptional delights. We particularly loved the lamb pot stickers is spicy yogurt sauce. Service was friendly and the atmosphere chill. Wish we had a place like this in our city in the US.
