Richardson's Canal House is a casual gourmet kitchen set on the scenic banks of the Erie Canal in Pittsford, NY.
We were invited by our dear friends to celebrate his birthday in the cobblestone pub, and we were again treated to fine meals. I started with some delicious onion soup and a glass of a Finger Lakes riesling wine that lasted the rest of my meal including a delicious tenderloin steak and very smooth mashed potatoes. Our birthday boy had the steak, but he started with his favorite, oysters on the half shell. We had great meals, and although we have been to Richardson’s Canal House many times before, each time is very special, augmented by our historic surroundings on the Erie Canal.

Stopped in here with some friends for coffee and dessert. Great choice of desserts and reasonably priced too.
Coffee was self serve, but seemed to be freshly ground. One member of our party disappointed that they don't do lattes and cappucinos.
The shops has the feel of an upmarket farm shop. Everything looked delicious and fresh. The apple pies looked especially good.
Would definitely try the lunch next time we are visiting

Considered one of the most authentic Italian restaurants in Monroe county. A place where visiting Italians are referred to for a meal most resembling home.Dinner Monday-Sunday starting at 4pm. Happy Hour Monday-Sunday 4pm-7pm in Bar Room only. Beautiful Patio in the warmer months as wellLive Music. See Website
Lemoncello is not about pampered, chi chi tiny-portion-Italian cuisine - it is robust Italian-American of a stellar quality. The specials indicate however the genius of chef - we tried a combination of the specials and the items on the regular menu, which are your basic Italian-american dishes (parm! spag bol! etc). The special soup of the day was a mushroom that was exceptional, trimmed with just the right amount of truffle oil and garlic essence. The fish special featured stunning seafood and wahoo, grilled to perfection, with garlic mash and sauteed vegetables. Just these two dishes indicated the genius of chef. The items off the menu: the linguine vongole with red sauce was oversauced with unfortunate gobbets of marinara, probably an indication of the Italian-American interpretation of the dish. The greens, beans on pappardelle was also oversauced, but extremely tasty. Needless to say, the homemade pasta in both cases was fantastic - however, quality of the pasta would have been more apparent if not buried by the extreme quantities of sauce. Waitstaff was brisk but friendly and knowledgeable. Note: it was a bit offputting to arrive at what looks to be a restaurant to enter straight into a bog standard neighborhood bar, complete with long haired chappy playing '70s guitar. Advice to management: give more scope to chef, please!

For the 30 years we've lived in Pittsford, buying the tree was the joyful part of this old establishment. This year, 2 of "santas helpers" (blokes to tie and tether) were reprimanded when they sold me a tree with a label indicating US34 and the boss elf stated that that label was wrong: it HAD to have "fallen off" one of the wreaths and hooked itself firmly into the tree. Boss elf produced an entirely different tag which was for US49 which was supposedly the RIGHT tag. Santa's helpers not impressed. Boss elf as grumpy pants. Solution: split the difference, fer petesakes. My recommendation: the venue is nostalgic, but some Ebeneezer is running the show. Go with the Boy Scouts, use this place for photo ops. (Oops, Ebeneezer might want his royalty fee...).

Signatures continued to serve outstanding food in their re-done version of the Humphrey House in Penfield. They have a very diverse menu that has appetizers and entrees across a wide variety of selections. Their scallop salad is wonderful, although last night I tried their Shrimp & Pork Noodle Bowl. I thoroughly enjoyed that entrée, although I thought I improved it a bit by shaking on a lot of red pepper, which they brought to the table. (Hey, what can I say? I love things very spicy.) My appetizer was very unique...the Jerusalem artichoke & tomato salad dish, which was on their listing of appetizer specials.
By the way, I graded "Service" as a '4' instead of a '5'for last night, and that wasn't because there was anything really wrong with the service. But after the first few visits by "our" waitress (who was very nice), suddenly we seemed to be visited by several different waitresses....one bringing drinks, one bringing more bread, one bringing whatever. By the end of the meal we didn't know who was really our waitress. (We assumed it was the first one.) Once again, they were all really friendly, but given my 'druthers I'd rather know who was our actual waitress.
We thoroughly enjoyed our entire meal. They serve wonderful food that is truly unusual. I highly recommend this place.

My wife & I visited for dinner this weekend. We enjoy the food here because it is very tasty, inexpensive, and it comes out VERY quickly. I had my usual Masaman shrimp with three extra peppers...nice and spicey! Also, I recommend trying the fresh (not fried) shrimp spring rolls. They are WONDERFUL in their special peanut sauce. I highly recommend this place.

A full service, "polished casual" restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. Beer, wine, specialty coffees & frozen drinks, served year round! We take the mystery out of crepes by fusing a French Canadian crepe, family traditions and American classics. Catering options include box lunches, party platters and customized on site chef solutions to enjoy at your office or home! Bon Appetit!
Visited for brunch with my daughter and was very disappointed. The restaurant was cold. I mean everyone sitting at their tables including me were wearing their winter coats. It was that chilly. The restaurant was not providing a warm oasis in the middle of the Rochester winter. To top it off, our service was very slow and not responsive. Being that cold, it would have been great to have been offered a warm drink immediately. We waited and waited. We could see other tables getting service but not us. If we were not in a time crunch and did not know that the food would be great (I've been here twice before) we would have left quite honestly. The food was excellent as expected but I'm not sure it was worth being uncomfortable. I spent $50 on a lunch for 2 and ate with my coat on and never did get that glass of water I requested.

Perlo's offers a warm, comfortable atmosphere with a true feeling of being part of the family. You’ll find great food and a full bar in our upscale yet casual atmosphere. Wonderful home cooked meals including seafood, steaks, chops, Italian specialties and wonderful wood-fired pizzas are what have made Perlo’s a Rochester tradition for over 12 years. In the warmer months, we invite you onto our outdoor patio. Owner Donna Perlo is delighted to host your private event or provide you with catering options. And remember, no one leaves Perlo’s a stranger—Donna guarantees it!
Great service even though it was extremely busy. We all had different dishes and all were very good. One was seafood that my wife had. She said that it was delish. The birthday boy had an egg plant special, which he devoured. My chicken parm.
was huge, I had to bring half of it home.
Excellent value !

YOU HAVE TO GET THE TATER TOTS! Food is generally large is quantity and fine in quality--hamburgers, sandwiches, wings (the grilled wings are especially good). Many people loudly at the bar, and couples/families/grandparents/kids at the tables ordering food. Good beer selection. TVs around.

Another visit to Joey's, my wife's favorite local restaurant. We were treated very very well by Katrina, food was terrific. Always a treat. Outside the building there is some serious construction improvements goon' on, but inside, still comfortable and friendly.
