Award winning restaurant. Local produce , 35 day matured beef, daily fish deliveries. Friendly, courteous & professional service. Large selection of single malt whiskies and wines by the glass.
We had not been to the Wheatsheaf since it changed hands earlier this year. We had always found the food to be excellent and hospitality warm and friendly. On our return under the new management we found both the food and the hospitality 5 star... It is always hard work taking over a place with a good reputation and maintaining its standards. We were delighted to say the new owners have enhanced and exceeded that reputation. Will definitely not leave it so long before returning again... Highly recommended.

We visited here for an evening meal before a wedding reception bring held locally.
The service was fantastically friendly and all drinks and dishes arrived promptly, served in proper authentic crockery.
The food was absolutely brilliant. Full of flavour, great portions, high quality. Best Thai I've had in the UK and just like the little restaurants I've experienced in Thailand itself.
The food and drinks were very reasonable in price and they catered for gluten free too.

So pleased I have visited here for the first time.
Staff were very friendly and great with kids. I like that they offered to bring kids food at same time as starters, also gave kids colouring books and crayons.
The food was extremely tasty, something for everyone and lots of specials on the board as well.
The chicken supreme with bacon mousse was outstanding.

Opened 13 months ago by the owners of the local butchers and gift shop in Duns. Operates as a bistro through the day and turns into a retauruant in the evenings at weekends.
We find Hugo's is worth the effort of travelling to Duns on our way south. Great location with on street parking nearby. Service is good as is the food. We'll be back again.Thank you very much and we will look forward to your next visit

As a solo female traveller it was great to be made so at ease with friendly staff and locals made me feel welcome too. I had the charred steak with peppercorn sauce which was delicious...the chips were proper chips... hand cut reminded me of my mum's :) location really chilled and I slept well. Thanks will be back...next time will try rhubarb and ginger gin...only another 36 to work my way through!

Stopped here for a coffee on our way back to Edinburgh towards the end of a long motorcycle outing. This cafe is part of a garden centre complex. There's no pretence about the place... in other words, basic (a little bare) and to the point....MoreThanks for taking the time to give us a review. We are pleased you enjoyed your recent visit. Hopefully we will see you again soon, so you can sample the rest of our traybake selection.

We've had a couple of take aways from this place. The first was tasty enough and would have, by itself, merited a four star rating. However, the second order was (a) wrong and (b) sub-standard. We'll probably give it a third chance but it will need to be at the level of the first for any further repeats.

Ating and drinking at Chirnside Hall is an experience to be savoured, whether you want a romantic dinner for two, or a night out with friends. We welcome non-residents in the restaurant, as well as residents. Our four-course dinner menu changes daily, and offers you the best seasonal and local Scottish produce, cooked with a modern European twist. Game comes from our own estate, and we use meat, fish, seafood, fruit and vegetables from local farms and suppliers. Our menu usually includes iconic Scottish produce - from scallops to roe deer to Aberdeen Angus beef to raspberries, depending on what's in season. Our chef Tim Holmes daily works culinary wonders on other local ingredients too - from home-smoked pigeon to langoustine tortellini.
This hotel just outside Chirnside invites non residents to book for dinner,
WOW. what a find. An eclectic set menu of high quality local produced food cooked and served to Michelin Star standard. Each element of our meal was exemplary ,the atmosphere relaxed and informal, a place for easy dining or special occasion .
The menu changes are frequent and therefore exciting with a Nordic touch.
Be sure to book well in advance especially during the fishing season when the hotel is full.

An Alice in Wonderland themed café with lots of quirky ornaments and pictures. Felt very welcome even though there were lots of locals there. Scones and coffees were delicious.
