My first visit to Chama Gaucha was for a business group dinner. I expected a typical Brazilian steakhouse, but was happy to find an extremely high-quality appetizer bar and incredible high-quality meat selection. The service was impeccable, and every food item was the freshest and tastiest possible. Even the desserts (Keylime pie, NY cheesecake) were exceptional! It will be difficult to beat Chama Gaucha at any other Brazilian steakhouse of its kind, regardless of price. If you are ever visiting in the Lombard or Downers Grove area, be sure not to miss this restaurant.

Cozy, warm, clubby decor makes The Capital Grille a comforting venue for patrons looking for a generous sized meal in an upscale atmosphere. Valet parking is offered, and self-parkers will find ample spots since the restaurant is adjacent to a shopping mall.
The Capital Grille's wine list is extensive and its menu is varied. In particular, their steaks are phenomenal, with many types from which to choose, from a manageable-sized filet mignon to much larger cuts. Lobster is prepared nicely without overcooking; the soups are delicious, ranging from bisques to a delicious crock of traditional onion topped with grill-melted cheese.
My husband and I split the Buratta salad with poached pears, pesto sauce and arugula: delightful.
For a special occasion such as an anniversary, not only will the diners be greeted with a handwritten card at a rose petal-strewn table, but your photo will be taken and a mouthwatering free dessert will arrive on a platter hand lettered in chocolate with good wishes! Our molten chocolate cake with ice cream and blueberries was out of this world.
We have sat in various spots in this restaurant, from a round near the open kitchen to a large corner booth to a small table in a cozy room with only two other parties nearby. Each offers its own experience, but our preference is always for more privacy.
Service is attentive but not exceptional, and unfortunately, occasionally irritating. For the high price point of this restaurant, this reviewer would not expect to be addressed as "you two", asked if one were "still nibbling", or be prompted in an evaluative direction by being asked if our food was tasting fantastic. Every restaurant has room for improvement, however, and the food more than makes up for the service shortfalls at The Capital Grille.

This is really a fantastic restaurant with fancy desserts and food! They gives you a lot of food to eat, in which, you can take the rest of it home. We celebrated my cousin birthday. The restaurant provided a platter with different desserts to choose from; however, he could select one free for his birthday. The Seafood Platter, Fish and Potatoes, Pasta Mardi Gras, and Shrimp & Cajun Chicken Tenderloins were delicious. Please make your reservation early, otherwise, you might have to wait. However, we were in a private section. This was very nice celebration!!!

Featuring a generous cellar selection, an oyster bar & creative cuisine, Devon delivers culinary excellence at a surprising value. Open for lunch, dinner and Sunday Brunch.
This restaurant is located in a busy strip mall. We were meeting friends so we sat a high top in the bar (it was quieter.) We split a calamari, tune poke, spicy tuna roll and half a dozen oysters to start. One couple split the walleye and the other the mixed seafood grill. Service was spotty. We were not offered their signature biscuits until after we completed all of our appetizers. (boo!) We washed it all down with a couple of bottles of Miner Viognier. We have had better experiences. Total bill for 4 including tip and wine was $245.

Casual dining in a rustic atmosphere has made The Country House Restaurants a west suburban favorite for more than 35 years. The Clarendon Hills Country House is a great spot for a quick business lunch, a relaxed dinner, or just to have a cocktail with your neighbor. We are best known for our highly touted "Country Burger" a hearty half pound served on dark rye. It was recently voted "Chicago's Favorite Burger" by the readers of The Chicago Tribune. In addition our menu also features hickory smoked ribs, char-broiledsteaks, fresh salads, pastas, and daily specials - all in a friendly neighborhood setting. There is also a full service bar where you can enjoy your favorite beer, a martini, or a glass of wine by the fireplace. We are open 7 days a week for lunch, dinner, or a late night meal. Please stop in and enjoy Clarendon Hills "pleasant surprise in casual dining".
We haven't been to the Country House for many years (guess I got away from eating burgers) but our dinner there was better than any I can remember. Arriving at 5:00, parking was no problem. The restaurant has a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. Our waitress was...MoreDON300, thank you so much for the great review and rating! We are thrilled to see how much you enjoyed the clam strips and your burger! We hope to see you and your wife back again very soon! Have a wonderful day!

Parkers' Restaurant & Bar is a chef-driven, full service, contemporary American restaurant and bar serving lunch, dinner, and private functions. The restaurant features fresh fish and seafood along with high quality meat and pasta preparations. The restaurant is housed in a transformed New England-style building on Highland Avenue at 31st, just north of I88 in Downers Grove, a western suburb of Chicago. The ambiance is casual-upscale with a mosaic tiled, open kitchen adjacent to a 150 seat dining room featuring a polished hardwood decor. The cozy, 50 seat bar and cocktail lounge area features a dramatic, wood vaulted ceiling and live piano entertainment, in the evening.
Overall, food choices were good and our guests enjoyed what they ordered. Desserts were creative and excellent. Service was relatively slow probably due to the crowd/service ratio. What was purportedly Boulliabaise was more of a Cioppino given the heavy tomato flavor. Would not order it again but those in the party that ordered steaks were very happy with their choices.

When we visit Chicago, there are 3 "musts"; bakery from Vesecky (in Berwyn), sausage pizza from Home Run Inn, and roast duck dinners at the Bohemian Crystal.
Start with one of the homemade soups, especially the split-pea, goulash or potato options (there is salad--but that's available anywhere).
If it's ones 1st time here; try a sampler platter; but definitely have at least one person get the 1/2 duck dinner (there's a 1/4 duck dinner, but even the leftovers are great).
After ones initiation; the pork tenderloin, smoke butt, fruit dumplings, etc...are all worthy contenders.
And, don't forget the sides; dumplings, boiled potatoes, sweet cabbage...all take one on an Eastern European culinary treat odyssey.
The kolacky make for a tasty ending (and a few for the road is always a good idea).
Leftovers are expected; and the staff are friendly and very accommodating with helping one box up& carry out what's left. (A special shout out to the busing team who constantly keep the tables clean and organized).
At one time, there were many great Czech restaurants throughout the Chicago area; today, the numbers have dwindled. The Bohemian Crystal carries on the old-school tradition.
Short of having a babi (grandma), tucked away at home cooking up great recipes from the family archive; visit here, and enjoy a mini Eastern European taste bud vacation.
NAZDAR!

We had met some other people here for lunch. My wife had a combination plate and I ordered the Gyro sandwich. The wife munch enjoyed her plate although the Gyro for me fell short big time. The meat was dry and seemed to be overcooked. The pita did not seem fresh. On top of that they charge $15.00 for it! I have had much better Gyro sandwiches at other places for half that cost. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with the sandwich and certainly not the price. I wish I would have ordered something else off the menu and think I would have most likely had a much better experience.
The server although got us what we needed did not seem very personable.

I’ve driven by this place many times each time reminding myself to try it. Went with friends recently and was delighted with all aspects of my dining experience. Expertly crafted cocktails, great wine selections and very tasty Italian fare. The calamari fritti was excellent. I had the braciole special and found it to be one of the finest renditions outside of my grandmas. Hats off for getting it right and for sharing your true Italian presentations with the western suburbs. I’ll definitely be back and encourage those driving by to stop in and enjoy.
