Located on Puerto Rico’s north coast, Dorado is a resort town of relatively recent vintage. You’ll find luxury hotels and several championship golf courses. Of course, if you’re used to your local, scruffy public course, your score might suffer—gorgeous ocean views can be quite a distraction.

Villa Dorado de Alberto is right across the street from Katerina. The food was OK, but nothing special. Alberto is a casual dining restaurant, but more "up-scale" than Katerina. The service was good, but the restaurant was not very crowded on a Monday night. The whole Red Snapper fish was excellent - but it is not filleted or cut by the waiter, so if you order it, prepare to dig in with bones and all. The other food was just OK.

On our way back from the Camuy Caverns we stopped in Dorado to have dinner and we were glad to find La Terrazza. The outdoor setting was lush, tropical, and relaxing. We started with traditional Mojitos that hit the spot. I ordered the Pina Colada shrimp while my husband tried the red snapper medallions. The cooking was solid, if not absolutely outstanding; the atmosphere and friendly service made the evening a memorable time away from San Juan.
It was fun to try a beach town eatery and experience a different part of Puerto Rico. Even though it wasn't terribly far away from San Juan, the vibe was much more laid back and fun, like a beach town should be!
When we drove not town at 5:15 we tried the #1 TA rated restaurant, El Ladrillo, and it was closed up tight even though their business sign showed a 5 PM open sign. So, La Terrazzo was next on our list. It's well worth the short drive off the main main street. Recommended!

We came to this surprisingly classy restaurant as a family with two kids, completely underdressed but were treated extremely well. The food is typical Puerto Rican with a creative touch, and it's not limited to the 3-4 dishes you can eat at every other restaurant. They do have proper silverware and tableware, no plastic dishes and "glasses".
Benny the waiter is also a good "sommelier" and recommended an excellent Chardonnay. Not cheap but well worth its money. He was very helpful.
All the dishes were very tasty and well prepared. This restaurant served the best white rice and beans I have ever had in Puerto Rico. I'm coming here since 2003. I definite recommendation.

Katrina Restaurant is a good alternative for people at Dorado public beach. Can eat in the Terrace or in the air conditioned salon. They have a very good service and an ample menu. We love the Mofongo with garlic shrimps, the Shrimps Asopao (soups), arroz mamposteao and many more.
We have just one suggestion: place the guacamayos (birds) outside the air conditioned salon. Their noise is too loud and we are not ready for that.

Grappa is a small Italian restaurant in Dorado. Food was very good and non typical...ie no Lasagna or spaghetti and meatball but more creative italian dishes. Quality of the food was good, prices not unreasonable and excellent service. As mentioned in other review, parking is a bit of issue but don't let that deter you...oh...deserts were excellent as well

Ate here for our last diner in Puerto Rico. The food was excellent! Had a California roll as an appetizer - delicious. We ate hibachi dinner. The chef was very good, entertaining and great food.
Wait staff was a bit cool at first, then over attentive, back to distant.
Overall I would say go for the food.

Usually, we go to Metropol Restaurant at Hato Rey, This time we were in Dorado and wanted to eat delicious food... so we stopped at Metropol. I ordered a cup of black beans as an appetizer... very good. Then we ordered Chick peas stewed with white rice, Onion steak with Congri rice. Both plates had Amarillos (ripen fried plantains) and were so hard.. I couldn't cut them. My onion steak was taste less and too greasy. The Chick peas were good. Service was good.

This is an experience not to be missed! Even the ambiance is interesting with various pieces of interesting art and the choice of dining inside or outside with a spectacular view of the beach and sunset at dinnertime. The food has the Jose' Andres Spanish flair with decidedly unique twists and everything that we tried was delicious (remember to save room for dessert - trust me!). The staff at Mi Casa are also exceptional and will make your experience truly memorable.

I visited yesterday Faccio Pizza at Dorado and I haven't visited another for the past 20 years because of the average pizza they offer. For my surprise they haven't change at all. The employees were attentive and the place was clean and comfy. The price range from $6-15 and a variety on their menu to offer but We went with two Pibe pizza because I was with my 7 year old daughter and she just took a few bites and left the rest of the pizza just like I did with mine. Maybe I will wait for another 20 years to visit them again.
