We heard about how great this restaurant is for breakfast. The best thing is that their meats (ham, bacon, sausage) really are outstanding. However, there are a lot of other things that are a bit challenging. I don't know about you, but when I get up in the morning I'm hungry and I'd like to eat breakfast within a reasonable amount of time. That's not likely to happen if you choose to eat here and you arrive later than when they open. Plan on a wait, unless you're the first one in the door at 6 a.m. Like a very long wait, not just 10-15 minute wait. And then not getting your order right, or getting an order with under cooked food. (I'm already feeling cranky just thinking back on it.)
We arrived at 9 a.m. on a Saturday morning and it was already packed by the time we got there. Our wait was over an hour. The good thing is that when you check in you can give them your cell phone number and they send you a text message when your table is ready, so you can go wait in your car. We noticed that a lot of people did that. Not having been there before. we waited inside the restaurant to watch and wait and see how the hostesses handled things.
The waiting area is very small and not very comfortable. There is a bench where you can sit, but it's right where you walk in and also where the hostess place is located. So people are walking back and forth all the time. You will find a place where you can order coffee off to the left of the front area, but it's also a very small area, and no chairs or anything are provided, so it's not meant to be a waiting area, either.
The hostesses are probably doing their best, but they're not very experienced in customer service. They look like they're overwhelmed, so don't expect a smile or greeting. Everyone we saw who approached them was given the same greeting - basically, "hello", "what's your cell phone number" and "here's how long the wait will be". No even pretend cheerfulness.
After we were seated, we just thought our waiting was over. No. We then had to wait for a while to place our orders, after we'd already waited for over an hour to be seated. But we hoped it was worth it to have a great culinary experience. My husband and I ordered some hot chocolate as soon as we were seated. It came out to us lukewarm. And it was very pricey - not a good way to start things off.
Like I said at the beginning, the meats really are outstanding. But that's pretty much it, folks. The orders our group placed got mixed up and more than one food item was not delivered that was ordered so people had to wait on those items.
The waiters are pretty cheerful, I have to give them credit for that. And they're pleasant when they realize how much they messed up your order - maybe they are just doing the best they can.
Here's my summation of breakfast eateries: how many ways are there to cook an egg that tastes different from the other eggs served at other breakfast places. (One other TripAdvisor contributor complained about their eggs being served under cooked - we had that same thing happen with one of our orders. That's very unappetizing to look at egg whites all over your plate.) Honestly, there's not one thing on their menu that you can't get just as good someplace else. It may not have the same name, or look exactly the same, but breakfast food is breakfast food for the most part.
The prices are not that great, either. So it's not like you're saving any money eating here. *If you're a "senior - 65 or older, you get 10% off, but they won't offer it, you have to say something. The seniors in our group weren't told about the discount.
For all of the hustle and bustle, and the long waits, I think I'd rather eat someplace else where it's quieter and you receive a little bit more care as a customer about your order and getting if filled correctly.
It's a noisy place. There is really no "ambiance" and the tables are close together so the whole eating area is very crowded.
Sorry, Old West Cafe. I would have really liked to have given you a better review.

The first gourmet burger joint in Texas to honor our state’s musical legends and trailblazers. Also, downtown Denton's FIRST rooftop patio/bar! LSA stands for Lone Star Attitude®, which is more than just a motto coined by Texas singer-songwriter, Jon Christopher Davis… it’s a way of life! There’s an old saying round here, and it goes like this: "God made Texas on his day off, for pure entertainment, just to prove that all that diversity could be crammed into one section of earth by a really top hand." At LSA Burger Co., we LOVE everything about Texas, especially our burgers, beer and music! They're as big and varied as the state itself, but one thing ties 'em all together - Lone Star Attitude, and that’s what we’re here to celebrate! You see, a lot of folks don’t realize that Texas has produced some of the biggest stars in the history of recorded music. LSA Burger Co. is the first gourmet burger joint in Texas to honor our state’s musical legends and trailblazers - people who put the ‘tude in ATTITUDE. While your taste buds take a tongue-twisting tour, let your eyes and ears soak up our state's rich, musical culture.
Passing through downtown Denton, some friends took my husband & myself for lunch. We were greeted by young staff that are smiling and genuine. Way cool rock n roll pictures on the wall & rock n roll music playing. We ate upstairs with so much to look at! Recommend the brisket con queso & chips. Yummy & smoky. Delicious French onion soup & burgers are great! Our waitress Sydney was the bomb! A must place to visit!

I drove down to see some friends. The parking in the area is ridiculous, Roosters was not crowded so the other local places must have contributed to the park and walk 5 blocks scenario.
Started out with the Texas Red and Queso dip with tortilla strips. It was a good combination. Unlike other places I have been to, I ran out of chips before the queso was finished!
A few beers later I ordered to PIT sandwich. Brisket, pulled pork, hot link on a bun. Mine was incredibly soggy, had to eat with a fork, it was falling apart and I am not a fan of soggy bread.
My friends ordered salads and chicken sandwiches and they enjoyed theirs but the salad was way overdressed.
I was not impressed with the beer selections, ended up drink Modelo. I would have thought some local beer on draft would be better.
I ended up spending almost 70 bux on 3 beers, 1 app, 3 meals, 2 iced teas.

We really enjoyed this restaurant. The food was very good, service top notch, and a cool interior. Even thought they had a limited wine selection, the wines we had was very good and unique. The duck breast was wonderful and they were very good about splitting the plate between the two of us as we wanted to order bowls of soup and share a starter also.

Our first time made a great impression! I hate egg plant, but read the description of the menu and you just have to try it. Best eggplant we've ever had! The arugula quiche was unlike any we've ever tasted. I tried the Reuben on the daily menu - probably the first truly fresh corned beef I've tasted (they make it in house, along with the sour kraut), and the sweet potato fries were fantastic. Everything is fresh, made from scratch, and comes from local providers. We're eager to go back!

I usually like breakfast potatoes and French toast, so I decided to order the Loaded Potatoes and Carmelized Stuffed French Toast. I greatly enjoyed both: The hash browns, cheese, scallions and egg made a good combination, and the French toast was a sweet delight. My friend also enjoyed everything he ordered. I definitely will be returning.

Simply delicious! This is a simple, small, fast food Latin counter service restaurant that definitely deserves 5 stars. The food is wonderful: I absolutely loved the spinach and carmelized onion empanada, and he raved about the potato and ground beef taco. The barbacoa taco was flavorful but just a little spicier than he prefers. The rice and black beans was good. Iced tea was good and soda came in cans. Surprisingly, the food came on real dishes and with real silverware! Staff was extremely friendly and the place was clean.
It is in a small, old house painted bright yellow. There is limited seating, both inside and out. I think they do a lot of takeout. We'll go there as often as we're in the area.

I sat at the bar and waited for my pickup order (House Special pizza, garlic cheese break, and mild buffalo wings), and this random guy initiated a conversation with me. He gave me a free tarot reading, and we discussed life and poetry. Nice, laid back atmosphere, yet active and entertaining. The bartender was also very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, however, I was not so satisfied when I returned home. The garlic bread was overbaked, too crispy, burnt, and hard. The mild buffalo wings were skimpy and tasted hot to me rather than mild. The pizza was good, but it was nothing to rave about, which is quite disappointing because this was the first time I have ever eaten food from Mellow Mushroom. Maybe it was an off night or something. I do tend to give restaurants a second chance. However, I expected much better than what I received for being on the high-end price range for a pizza place. Maybe I will return sometime, though it's not likely to be soon.
