This is a very casual country cooking cafe with a full buffet for $8.95. Nothing fancy, but I really liked it. Buffet - I tried the catfish which was fresh and fried up just right. Very good, not greasy. Chicken Fried Steak had a great batter. Several veggies to choose from, a salad bar, and yummy banana pudding. The waitress was really nice, she called everyone "honey" and the lady at the cash register was super nice as well. They also have homemade pie with meringue that looked so good. I was too full to order this trip but will definitely go back and try it with the BBQ ribs - which have great reviews!

This place has been in Dayton since I was a kid. It used to be great. Sadly, it's changed owners a few times and now it's not so great. There is NO atmosphere. Everything inside is plain and seldom clean. It's badly in need of remodeling. The food is average to below average for a Dairy Queen. The service is incredibly slow. It's supposed to be "fast food", but there's nothing fast about this place anymore. I gave it 2 stars for their variety of menu items and ice cream choices. I wish I could give it more.

The fajita meat was very tasty, but the rest of our lunch, blah. The salsa was bland and tasted canned. I asked for a spicier salsa which was neither fresh tasting or spicy. The help, though nice, was very sloppy in appearance. Both our server and our bus person had clothing which needed laundering (actually our server's clothes were so wrinkled it looked as though he had slept in them). They did not appear to be personally well groomed or clean. The cost was expensive for the quality of food and atmosphere.

We really enjoyed our breakfast here. Big portions and tasted great. This is the definition of small town diner and you should visit if you are in the area.
Menu is available throughout the operating hours, so if you want lunch or dinner for breakfast it is available. Prices are very reasonable as well. We enjoyed it!

This place knows how to serve donuts and breakfast! What they serve is great but their customer service is even better. These people know how to treat you! Always smiling and happy to serve you. I always go there for donuts!

I ordered the chicken flautas with a side of guacamole.
The server asked if I wanted fajita or shredded, and I appreciated that because I prefer shredded.
Big, perfectly cooked flautas. Excellent refried beans. I don't eat rice, so no rice report.
Their cooked, warm salsa is very good. It would be excellent (and one of the best salsas I've ever eaten) if it had less cilantro. The cilantro flavor overpowered it some. I ate several bowls anyway. Awesome chips.
The guacamole was above average.

We choice this restaurant because is next door to our hotel. The service was under average, my snapper was not that I expected, on a greasy bed of rice with oily onions and vegetables that no a good combination for have a good night sleep. The gumbo that my wife ordered was OK but same thing for sleeping. The atmosphere was OK and the prices are affordable.
That's not the restaurant that I recommend but is convenient when you have a room at the Best Western next door.

Parking is head-on right by highway. Be careful for sneaky step down to ordering area. Neat stuff in entryway, such as arrowheads, funny signs, paintings, hand-written restaurant offerings.
Order at counter. Not sure they bring it to you... We only patrons, n had to wait at counter for it.
Two bottles look like BBQ sauce, but one is catsup... Not good on a brisket sandwich.
Fries unremarkable, as the brisket sandwiches. Coleslaw excellent. Coconut pie's meringue tasted like plastic to me.
They have a roulette wheel, n I accidentally turned it, n called #22, n it landed on 22! But they didn't even offer anything for it. If one lands on certain #s, one wins something.
A great outdoor patio, but noisy bc of highway traffic 20 feet away. Great flowers n plants there.
I wouldn't return, even if offered a free meal.

I called in a to-go order of catfish on my way to work last week. They had it ready for me when I stopped in, the price was reasonable and the waitress/cashier was very friendly. I like a little more seasoning on my catfish but it was not bad at all. The portion was reasonable and the hushpuppies were great! I'm sure I will be back.

If you have friends from out of town, you will get them a burger from here. For $10 you get a great burger that's overflowing the patty with properly melted cheese and basic fixings any way you'd want. Burgers come wrapped and halfway held together in a butcher paper glove which is the sign of a serious burger. They have other stuff on the menu. Call or text ahead, it takes 10-15mins for your order to be ready. The company name implies they sell crawfish.. but we're out of season still so I'll give them a few days before I get for some of that. If you're headed to Tom's, text me, I might be in the area and you can buy me a burger too.
