Café de Jack offers a wide-range of dishes, including Western cuisine, Chinese cuisine, and local cuisine. We ate there for lunch twice, and enjoyed it both times. First day we had their spicy eggplant stew (very spicy), and their spicy beef pizza (not very spicy). Next day, we tried two of their noodle dishes. All dishes were very good, and we were happy with the service, the cuisine and the experience. Menu in English and Chinese.

We have dad two excellent dinners here, both well prepared Chinese meals. The local Dali beer is well worth a try.
Enjoyable to sit on the Terrace while people are passing by in the street. You will likely get your photo taken by passing Chinese, especially if are using a fork,

Nice industrial looking brew pub where you can taste craft chinese beers which are actually pretty good and different from the usual watery low alcohol chinese beers ! lots of young people and live cover bands music everynight ! interesting ! western food and nice merchandising also available !

We did read about this place and we landed here ,The greek pizza is really great , a nice thin crust ,the right amount of ingredients and we enjoyed a good meal. The kids had a good time , they have a rock climbing mini wall which is a great idea and keeps the kids busy and adds a lil fun to the trip. The pastas are average but you will enjoy the pizzas.

I went there after several days of disappointing Chinese breakfast at the hotels. I am not accustomed to noodles and vegetables in the morning.... Here you can find different kinds of Western breakfast. I had the Swiss one with fried eggs, musli with fruit and yogurt and bread with jam, plus tea. You can eat outside in on of the nicest streets in Dali.

Food is great here, used to be vegan for years and still appreciate quality vegg food when I can.
You only pay 5 yuan for all you can eat but please be respectful and finish when you put in your bowl, that is chinese customs that we laowai do well respecting .
One annoying thing is the chanting on the speakers which is constant

One of the encouraging places in Dali, we were not afraid to enter and have a dinner. The tables were clean and the interior, although bit dark, made good impression. The food was rather good, maybe like for me, too oily. The waitresses understand slightly English and the menu is readable. The spot is usually very occupied by Chinese tourists.

I came here super hungry and craving simple western food. It was completely empty on a Sunday night. Service was adequate, but I didn't need anything more than that. I had a beer and Sandwich. The Sandwich was good, the fries were crispy. All the desserts looked so yummy! But, I was too full at the end so I just had a scoop of ice cream. Unfortunately it wasn't as good as I hoped and I was mad at myself for not just ordering one of the delicious looking pies. So, either just go for dessert or save room!

Blue Gecko is temporarily closed for renovations from March 4 - April 6. We will be reopening with a new wood-fire pizza oven and some amazing new menu items ... so keep watching this space!
After two hours we finally had our food and drinks. It tasted great but after such a long wait we weren't enthousiastic anymore. The bill took a long time as well and had mistakes. I recommend going if you have time. It is a great place to sit in a more quiet area of dali

No.3 Korean Restaurant is run by Korean and Chinese couple. We make traditional Korean popular food.
We were actually headed for Mulan Restaurant, which is also reviewed on TA, but this restaurant's storefront caught our eye. We had read the reviews of it here, but weren't sure we wanted Korean while soaking up (touristy) Chinese culture. The clean, bright, comfortable feel that radiated from the windows made us look closer. We saw fresh and attractively presented food on people's plates. My partner showed the staff her note in Chinese characters that says, "I don't eat beef, pork, lamb, chicken, duck or any other meat. I do eat fish and shellfish and all vegetables." The hostess and a waitress, with some interest and excitement, paged through their menu pointing to their picks for her. We took a cozily stylish seat and ended up each choosing BiBimBop, with squid for my partner and traditional beef for me. We agreed that it was an exemplary interpretation of the dish. Our orders came with three different kinds of pickles and generous bowls of seaweed soup on the side. We shared a large bottle of the local Dali beer, which is clean and light.
It was the best meal of our three days in Dali. Go. You'll like it.
