This was my first time at Dannay's but I had read the other reviews so had to try it! Everyone raves about the apple fritters but they were all gone on my first visit so I opted for cinnamon rolls. The cinnamon is the very fragrant Asian cinnamon which is unusual, expensive and much much better than the normal cinnamon we tend to eat. The roll was delicious! I went back earlier another day to try the apple fritter and I wasn't all that impressed. I don't know where the apple was and I wanted a lot more flavor. So, obviously I'm not an apple fritter person but the cinnamon roll was worth the trip!

A short ten miles as you get off of the 13-minute Bolivar Ferry ride, turn left at the Bay Vue Grocery Store and follow the road to the very end. You will notice left over damage from Hurricane Ike along the way, but Bolivar has come back better than ever. Steve's Landing was demolished by Ike in 2008 and, five years later, we have brought back the hype with a unique atmosphere that includes 'ceiling-tall' teak wood palm trees. There is even a 'Swings Patio' that you must see to believe! Follow your favorite team while sitting at our 'Blue Dolphin Bar,' which is the perfect atmosphere to wind down after a business day or week. Steve's Landing serves its customers with exceptional food, personal service, and an atmosphere that is like no other on Bolivar. Enjoy waterside dining with fresh seafood, premium steaks, colorful salads, and delicious desserts. Immerse yourself in this dining experience, and enjoy the sunset, as well as the Gulf's intra-coastal waterway.
We had dinner here and were very pleased. The menu offered a wide variety dishes that satisfied all in our group. The food was visually appealing and tasted great. The adult beverages were nicely crafted and tasty. The waitstaff were friendly and efficient. If you are in the Crystal Beach area I would highly recommend a visit to this nice restaurant.

A trip to Texas is not complete without some kolaches for the road. A few years ago when I was loading up my kids to leave Crystal Beach they started complaining that they were hungry. Since I knew a long drive would be brutal with starving kids, I checked Yelp and discovered Dannays.
Dannays is a typical Texas donut shop. They have all the standard pastry items, but they also have kolaches. It amazes me that the kolache craze hasn't really taken off in Louisiana, but rest assured, they are awesome. The kids got donuts and I got jalapeno and cheese kolaches. I can't comment on the donuts, but their kolaches were excellent. The pillowy soft bread was paired with the spicy cheese filled sausage. Yum.
You can either drive through or walk in. Just know that if you drive through and have a manual like my Jeep did, the drive thru is very steep. Use caution so you don't roll back in to the giant lifted F-250 behind you.

The seafood at this restaurant is the best. From the fish, oysters, crab, shrimp, gumbo, boudin, The desert of Bread Pudding can not be beat. But the seafood at the Stingaree is worth the drive from Houston to Galveston and then across the Ferry over Galveston Bay to Crystal Beach. When I want the best, we head to Stingaree at Crystal Beach. You will not be sorry.

Relaxed family surroundings with Big Screen Tv throughout restaurant. Relaxing with a menu to cure all cravings from Full Seafood Platter, Shrimp and Chicken Alfredo, Salads, Burgers and even a hand posted pizza. Wine and Beer is available draft and bottled beer along with many favorite wines.
We stopped here for lunch. The restaurant was nice and clean and visually pleasing. We were immediately greeted and offered seating anywhere in the restaurant (it was not that busy). The restaurant was blasting music through their sound system that was very loud and annoying. We asked if they could possibly reduce the volume and we were advised that the office which contained the sound equipment was locked and no one on duty had the ability to enter that office in order to lower the volume.
We placed orders for mahi mahi tacos and fried catfish. Our food arrived quickly and it was really good. In fact, the fish tacos were some of the best I have ever consumed. I ordered a draft beer and it was served very cold in a glass mug. Our waitperson was very friendly and knowledgeable with regard to the menu offerings.
I will definitely consider having a meal here again. However, if they still have loud music blasting I will have to pass and go elsewhere.

Just finishing up at Tiki Beach Bar & Grill. The beer is cold, the service is personable, and the burger is outstanding. We ordered chips, hot sauce, and queso, and tiki burgers. The Tiki burger comes on a house-made sweet sourdough bun, which was fantastic, and a delicious barbecue sauce. Y'all, this burger was better than good, and I've eaten numerous Texas Monthly "bests." The fries are lightly battered and also delicious, and the onion rings were also good. I spied the nachos on another table, and they also looked excellent. We met the owners, too, and they're delightful. We'll definitely be back.

They had some of the best tasting nacho's I have ever eaten. I had their Sour cream chicken enchilada's they were very good. Our waiter was amazing and entertaining. We had 6 in our party and most enjoyed their food. They did not however recommend the crab cakes. We will eat there again on our next trip though.

This is a bar that has food. The outside seating is nice but the view isn't great. The food is good. I enjoyed the fish tacos. For the amount of food you get, it's too expensive. Everyone working there was nice, but it's not a good place to bring kids.

For some of the best smoked, slow cooked BBQ in TX stop by The Smoking Pig on Crystal Beach TX! Here's the address and other contact info: 1366 Highway 87 Crystal Beach TX 77650 [email protected] 409-443-1131 Owners: Angelaa & Will Weeks.
Eat there, take with you, or have them cater, and they might deliver. It's a small seasonal stand. If she doesn't have what you want to drink, there is a gas station right across from the stand, and there is a bar right across the street.
She has two types of sauces, hers and her husbands. Her husbands is homemade from an old TX recipe he found. Her sauce is a sweet sauce, and his is more of a spicy/tangy. It's not too hot, and if it's not hot enough, ask her for some jalapenos or some spices from her kitchen.
The prices are more than reasonable, the food melts in your mouth, and the owner can truly pride herself in her customer service. She is always willing to make you order just the way you want it if she has what it will take to make your meal to order. Plus you never know when someone famous might stop by for a bite to eat.
Make sure and tell Angelaa Rain and Patrick sent ya coming.

This place is located under Stingaree's. We love it! You can sit outside and watch the sunset. They have great fish tacos and shrimp tacos and fish tacos. Good drinks. The bartender's are seriously overworked taking food orders also, but they are always pleasant and friendly. My daughter and I discovered this last year and couldn't wait to return this year.
