Peacock Gardens Restaurant is a modern Chinese restaurant servicing discerning diners throughout Sydney from its location in the inner northern suburb of Crows Nest. Peacock Gardens has won numerous awards, including Best Chinese Restaurant of 2007 and 2011 from the Restaurant and Catering Association, and the American Express Restaurant Award for Outstanding Performance & Service.
Been coming here for a long time and the staff and the food doesn't seem to differ as it is always consistent.
A great Chinese meal that will put a smile on the face and great for a long lunch to work your way though some of there specialist dishes such as crispy skin chicken in shallots sauce, unicorn prawns in wine and chilli or go for a full Peking duck that will never disappoint. There is of course the traditional dishes that everyone also enjoys.
Wine list is pretty good with a wide selection that would satisfy the fussiest of wine drinkers.
Be aware this is not a cheap Chinese restaurant but then again neither is the experience.

Getting off the bus after a walk around Cremorne Point, we looked to the right saw a buzzy restaurant, and thought let’s book a table for the following evening. It’s hard to describe the food as it is so eclectic, a mix of African, Indian, Mediterranean and who knows where else so it’s worth checking out the menu.
We chose the ‘prix fixe ‘ menu which at $44Aus is a bargain. Think tapas style. Every plate was beautifully cooked with multilayered flavours.Eight plates of food for four people each plus appetisers is more than enough for anyone. The house wines are to be recommended.
We booked a table at 8pm. It was heaving at the time and remained so until we left. The staff were helpful and the service good. I’m sure we will go again before we leave Sydney for home.

Sails on Lavender Bay is perched on the shore of Sydney’s magnificent harbour with post card views of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. It is the perfect venue for those wanting to experience the quintessential beauty of the city. Sails on Lavender Bay is accessible by either ferry, private boat or car. The menu is original and extensive - reflecting the seasons and freshness of the local produce. The menu offers what can be described as “refined modern Australian”, with an emphasis on fresh seafood. The award winning wine list comprises of over 130 Australian and International wine varietals that have been sourced and compiled by our sommelier.
We had a meal not long after new year with two friends from Sydney and were very much looking forward to noshing our way through the Tasting Menu with accompanying recommended wines (7 courses if my memory serves me right).
The food on every plate was extremely good and beautifully presented. Tasting menus are by definition small amounts but the range of tastes and textures served up were stunning and the discussion around the table about each course lasted all evening. The service was very professional as befit the location and price and the wines were well chosen, though also served in "tasting" amounts which was a little frustrating when you get one that really fits your palate.
The visit was expensive but the whole package (location, ambiance, excellent service, food, presentation and wine) made the occasion very memorable, so much so that if I were in Sydney again and wanted to impress - this is where Id come.

Went on 23/01/2018 to celebrate our wedding anniversary. My wife and I ordered the Greek roast lamb with roast potatoes. It was written on the menu with a number next to it. The waitress seemed to have issues understanding us, had to tell her our order 3 times.
It took 4 goes before they came out with the roast potatoes. First time my wife got boiled potatoes and I got mashed potatoes. Then they were going to give me french fries. After 4 goes and talking to 3 waitresses we finally got the baked potatoes.
Is it that hard to tell the difference, especially when it is written on the menu.
2 of the waitresses seemed to not be very proficent in english.
At least the lamb was beautiful, but a bit small for what we paid.

We have been around for last more than 25 yrs. serving Authentic British Era Indian Cuisine. Our customers say we make the BEST Indian Food in Sydney. So come and experience it yourself along with a Colonial Look which is hard to find.
I organised my 70th Birthday Celebrations at this Restaurant and after meeting with Rajinder (I guess he was the owner/manager) we agreed on the menu for Veg & Non-Veg portions of starters & mains. The Starters arrived and everything was fine until the mains came out only to find that the portions were not what we agreed on i.e. 1 portion/dish for every 2 guests therefore there should have been a lot more portions for 24 NV guests instead I received embarrassing feedback from some of my friends who called to thank me the next day to say that they either got only 1 piece of meat/chicken and others only gravy. I have a lot more to report but it seems I've run out of characters!!!

Always reliable, friendly and tasty food. They seem to always have people there for birthdays, which cater for both the younger and older generations.
Best picks for me would be be lamb pancakes, San Choy Bow, Shan tung chicken and of course their special fried rice. Great menu, plenty of variety.

There are six version of Dosai on the menu. Dosai is also written as Dosa. This is an ancient South Indian pancake made from fermented batter. It is served hot with various fillings. If you could try them all then so much the better!
Fortunately we were in a large group and ordered one of each – Masal, Bangalore, Kheema, chicken and just plain Dosai – so we were able try a piece of each one.
For mains we had Kinkan Prawn; Lamb Rogajosh, Kurmah, and Saagwala. Superb dishes full of flavour and not too hot. Lovely atmosphere – you could well have been in some part of India with the peacefulness of the place and the wonderful aromas.
Parking is easier than what you think considering that the Malabar is on the busy Pacific Highway. If you can’t find a street parking then there are parking garages just off Willoughby Road.

The line stretches out of the door, comprising almost exclusively of native Japanese diners. It's a great sign. Inside meagre, simple surroundings give way to steaming, flavourful bowls of pork and chicken broths, replete with soft-boiled eggs, pork leg, shrimp and golden, slurp-able noodles. Steamed pork buns and punchy kimchi seals the meal.
It's a great little place and thankfully appreciated for delivering splendidly on its raison d'etre.
