Craigavon (/kreɪˈɡævən/ kray-GAV-ən; Irish: Creag Abhann) is a planned settlement in northern County Armagh, Northern Ireland. Its construction began in 1965 and it was named after Northern Ireland's first Prime Minister: James Craig, 1st Viscount Craigavon. It was intended to be the heart of a new linear city incorporating Lurgan and Portadown, but this plan was abandoned and less than half of the proposed work was done. Among locals today, "Craigavon" refers to the area between the two towns. It is built beside two artificial lakes and is made up of a large residential area (Brownlow), a second smaller one (Mandeville), plus a central area (Highfield) that includes a substantial shopping centre, a courthouse and the district council headquarters. The lakes, a wildlife haven, are surrounded by woodland with walking trails. There is also a watersports centre, petting zoo, golf course and ski slope in the area. In most of Craigavon, motor vehicles are completely separated from pedestrians, and roundabouts are used extensively.

Was in room 206. Pleasant room only issue was socket was far from the bed. Didn't matter as could not get any signal (EE) and from here the hotel wifi was very poor.
The food was very good and the portions huge. Hotel was clean overall. Enjoyed my stay

Visited here last week with a group of friends for our 6 monthly reunion. The place was busy with a lovely atmosphere. Service was good and the menu choices extensive. Everyone agreed the food was delicious and well presented. Several indulged in mouth watering desserts which again were really good. All in all a great dining experience.

Called for breakfast in party of 3 - 2 of whom were disabled. I had phoned the day before to book and had been told that they were taking no more bookings. When I suggested that we go elsewhere, the girl said that we would be ok to come and that they hadn't turned anyone away since they started the Christmas bookings. When I said we would be there at 9, she said to definitely come and there would be a table.
When we arrived, the manageress was rigid and inflexible and insisted that the only tables that were available were upstairs which, without a lift, were clearly inaccessible for us. We were left standing for some time while the waitresses tried to negotiate to get us seated. Eventually, we were seated but told, several times, that the table would need to be vacated before 10. The manageress then changed this to 9.50. Other guests arriving seemed to welcomed warmly with the manageress shaking hands. The service was good and the food was lovely but the visit was ruined by the lack of welcome and the delay in getting us seated. My sister and myself go out often and other establishments are very considerate to our disabilities. Disappointing to have been subjected to this treatment at Ballydougan.

Called in for coffee and were handed two menus without a word of welcome. We decided to have two coffees and two scones. The scones were a disappointment, at 10.30am I expect fresh scones not ones that have been heated in a microwave. However, they tasted ok.

Bar Restaurant
Food - proper pub grub. Healthy portions, fantastic service. Live music kicked off about 10pm - Ben and Ron Currie. Not what I would have expected but very, very good! Will come back next time!

We had the Sunday carvery recently and it was very poor. The beef and lamb were almost all fat and not up to their usual high standards. My wife complained when she was settling the bill and even showed the meat to the staff. The chef said they were using different meat cuts. They didnt offer anything by way of an apology or reduction on the bill and we left with a bag of meat for our dogs. My wife then contacted Planters and made a complaint which has not even been acknowledged over 2 weeks later. They clearly dont care much about their customers so we wont be back. The photos are the roast beef and lamb we were served.
