Courtown (Irish: Baile na Cúirte, meaning "homestead of the court"), is a village which developed after Lord Courtown ordered the construction of a harbour during the Famine years, 1839-1846. The economic boost of the new harbour led to a small village developing with fishing been the primary economy of the village. Courtown is situated on the Irish Sea coast and with the recent development during the "Celtic Tiger" years, has merged into the adjoining village of Riverchapel. It lies on the R742 regional road.

The 'Kitchen, Gorey' is an award winning restaurant which is based around a modern industrial style dining environment. With a focus on sourcing the highest quality local produce and using fresh natural and free range wherever possible. The heart of the modern European menu are angus burgers, glorified wood fired pizzas and gourmet pies complimented by a careful selection of wines and boutique beers. 'The Kitchen' offers delicious evening meals with seasonal changes and daily specials, the very popular Sunday Roast and also caters for those who want to drop by for a casual lite lunch or coffee.
Lovely atmosphere, nice decor, staff were very friendly. House wine was lovely. We had a mixture of dishes like fish and chips, chicken pie, pizza and duck and had no complaints. Tasty food and generous portions. Highlight was the Bailey's and coffee roulade ! Price range was reasonable, looking forward to returning !

Wild Spice is the perfect place to enjoy fine Indian food with excellent service, in comfortable atmospheric surroundings. Enjoy Takeout or sit down meal.
Last week we stopped at this traditional Indian Restaurant
on the way home.We decided to ask for take-away food.
The staff were very welcoming, and they said we have to
wait half an hour. Friendly little restaurant. We ordered a
Chicken Madras and a Lamb Jalfrezi, both dishes were
very rich, unique flavor, the spices used are well balanced.
The portion size was perfect, and this food is worth every penny!

This a great little cafe for breakfast. I visited on a Sunday morning and enjoyed a full breakfast. The staff were good at their job and were friendly and helpful. The cafe is clean and tidy and suitable for families or individuals alike. Great food and a nice atmosphere. I will return when I am next in the area.

Very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. Clean and well kept busy restaurant though a bit loud and busy to be romantic. There is an upstairs section which appeared nice but was closed when we visited. The menu and food is very good and good portions were provided. This menu is mainly Malaysian but has a good selection and variety of foods are on offer. A free bottle of the house wine was provided with a booking for four diners which was a welcome surprise. Would visit again.

Had a staff retirement last week in the Eco restaurant and we were not disappointed.
From the first class reception upon arrival to the quality of the food the Eco can holds its own with the best in Co Wexford.
Nothing was too much trouble for the stall and the food from starters to the main course and desert the presentation adn food was as good as some 5 * cruise ships we have sailed on.
Well done to all the staff and management in the Eco Restaurant

First time in this small town and first time in
Joanne's Cafe. They offer Breakfast, Lunch,
Coffee Bakery and Deli Counter with variety of
foods. Decent spot for lunch. There is a line but
it moves along. Plenty of tables for everyone.
Staff behind the counter seemed a little stressed,
probable because of the crowds. Ordered Fried
Cod Fish with Mashed Potatoes /10.90 euros /.
Average price. There's nothing worse than lumpy
mashed potatoes. I love mashed potatoes when
is creamy and smooth, melt in my mouth. The
Cod Fish was fresh but overcooked.
Overall, for me it was not a tasty lunch.
