I have never seen such rude and non caring employee's anywhere! The restaurant is dirty and smells bad. Workers will stand there and do nothing about customers in drive threw and inside waiting to place a order. They never make eye contact or say thank you. No customer service skills what so ever, No hair nets, no gloves. Who Owen's this place ? I like Dairy Queen, but not this one. DO NOT GO INTO THIS D,Q.

Taco Palenque Cotulla

Taco Palenque(R) is mainly known for its authentic Mexican Food. It has become the ultimate place to spend time with family and friends while enjoying a meal. The Best Fajitas in Texas!!!

Reviewed By mel19802016 - Kilgore, Texas

The dinning room was well maintained and the salad/salsa bar was well stocked. They ran out of Jamaica and even after they were told took a while to get some more. The food has great flavor altough I found their steak in the tacos to be tough and chewy but the beef fajita is second to none. However this is a very expensive fast food place so be prepared to spend a pretty penny.

went here after locked n loaded was permanently closed. went on a local referral. service was slow, slow slow. Ordered the chicken fried steak with baked potato and green beans, partner ordered the jalapeno stuffed steak and baked potato. Both meals came out both potatoes and gravy were cold. waitress went to get someone else to help. mgr comes out and says go ahead n eat we'll bring you out new potatoes. I say, then the rest of my meal will be cold. (always happens at least once on every trip i make). so, after mgr goes to kitchen, bartender/waitress asks if I'm ok. i tell her what mgr is doing and she says no, wait, and goes and fixes it. i get a full plate and partner gets her potato after she is done with main course. so, life on a Wed. eve. in Cutella, texas. only one table in our area with 6 guests. came in after us, left before us.
Food was good size, equal to the pricing. the fried part of chicken fried steak did not stay on either piece of meat. one cut and it all came off like a shell. green beans were bright green, cut small, out of a can. decor is as old as the town, the bartender was great, the servers polite, just took ten minutes to get butter after the potatoes were brought to us. always had to wait for service. hate to see a weekend night. locals probably used to watching the skies change color waiting on food. as a passer by tourist, was a waste of our time. no apologies given.
Hard to rate this one.
Oh, partners jalapeno stuffed steak was good and tasty, just no side to eat it with..

Rough-looking on the outside, inside is friendly but small. Really good service! Traditional Mexican food and they also serve a Great "Jumbo Cheeseburger and Fries. Its well worth the wait to have them make you a hand-pressed, thick cheeseburger with everything. This will take at least 2 napkins to finish! Crowded at lunch, go early!! Good luck!

El Vaquero Cafe

I have visited here a few times over the past month. By far my favorite dish was the carne guisada, this is real and comes with the meat smothered in a nice thick gravy. The homemade tortillas well are good and naturally wish I could eat a dozen of them. Their homemade salsa is really good, since this is a Mexican and BBQ restaurant they don't serve chips and salsa when you sit down. You actually have to pay for it which is good for me, that means I won't get full on chips! This place is real gringo, along with the rice and beans they also serve potato salad some non BBQ plates! I also like that with the salads they just give you the bottle of salad dressing you asked for!

Best yeast rolls ever. Time to time we would travel 20 miles to this place just for the yeast rolls. Broiled chicken is the best as well. However, out of 10 times, usually after 5pm, 7 times of those 10 they are out of broiled chicken. You would think they would have that always on tap vs the fried chicken but that is never the case. Many times as well, you order in the drive thru or even get down to order it. They will take your order for the broiled chicken only to give it to someone else and then tell you sorry, we are all out. Even had a worker there say out loud, we arent going to cook anymore today. This was around 5pm.

Steak prices are crazy. We've eaten at some of the best steak houses around and they ALL have prices on the menu and they don't change day to day. I had a cheese burger on a sour dough bun that would have been great except the bun was sweet. The waitress was excellent and very nice. Sweet tea was good and she kept the glass full.

I dont go to McDonald's too often. It is like this for the most part but not all in Cotulla. Oilfield is there and workers are going to spend their money regardless. Because this is known, you arent going to get very good service for the most part. The attitude is, you are going to spend your money with us regardless so it does not matter if we give you good customer service or not. Dont get me wrong, there are some that take their job and customer service seriously and i appreciate it. About a year ago, i would go there in the morning and order a big breakfast with 3 extra orders of eggs, every morning, everyday. No deviation from the order. Same thing over and over and over. Well, in a 7 day period, they forgot to put my hashbrowns in the meal 5 of those days. Whether its just oversight or shorting customers to keep food costs down i dont know. The manager if you want them to correct an order usually cops an attitude like you are the problem and that you as a customer had the nerve to even complain. Some of the people that work there take pride in their job and i commend them but management seems to have issues with people skills.

Wendy's

Reviewed By Lisa M - Bedias, Texas, United States

All I can really say is we hit the drive-thru to grab a quick dinner after spending 6 hours driving to Cotulla to spend the weekend with my husband. Unfortunately quick, was the last thing on the list. I don't know if the people taking the orders just don't know enough English to understand what people are saying, or if there's something wrong with the speaker system, but we had to repeat everything we ordered a good 3 times and then go over it again after ordering another item.

The food was alright, it's regular Wendy's food, fries were hot, which was nice, but that's about all the positives I have for this place. In a town full of tired oilfield workers, they may want to work on picking up the pace. It should not take that long to order in the drive-thru!
