Hudson Hil's is right in the center of Cold Spring. It has a very hip feel to it and is within walking distance to pretty much everything in the town. We came her food lunch and around 2:00pm it was still very busy. We were seated promptly and our waitress was attentive. I had the flank steak sandwich for lunch. It was decent, but nothing amazing. We also tried the grilled cheese with fig. Again, it was ok but nothing special. Overall, we had a nice experience because of the atmosphere, however the food was lacking.

All of our Ice Cream is made fresh daily right here in our shop. Over 100 flavors, 17 rotating daily. Cups, Cones, Specialty Sundaes, Milkshakes & more. We brew our own Iced Coffee!
The ice cream selection is not over whelming. They have about a dozen flavors that are available. All are made there on the spot at the creamery so they are fresh and rich in taste.

Not for Tea drinkers. A cup of tea (not a specialty tea) cost $1 more than a cup of coffee!
A cup of tea and a buttered bagel was $6. My friend had a chocolate croissant she said it was stale. Looked like people just hang out working or playing on their laptops.

The reviews really set the bar high and we were disappointed. The chicken salad tasted like Mrs Stratton’s and my husbands philly came with American cheese slices. The fries were nothing to write home about.
Service was friendly and fast. I can’t say we recommend eating here unless you like so-so diner food. Nothing seemed scratch made but rather frozen and Sysco type food.

Pepettini is an authentic Italian restaurant located in a converted early 1900's bank, a stone's throw from the Hudson River. Our updated interior honors the past by keeping the original vault and renovating in a style to highlight the natural beauty and history of the building. Keeping true to our central/southern Italian heritage we specialize in fresh seafood and more traditional dishes not typically found in American-Italian restaurants. We make it a point to ask the customer, "What would you like?"... something not asked at enough restaurants if you ask us. We invite you to come in and join our family for a meal that transports you to Italy, no plane ticket needed!
Truly enjoyable meal with a great staff!! Pepe was the perfect host... not on top of us but always looking out for us. We had fried Calamari for an appetizer which was very tender.
Then we chose 3 entrees... filet franchese, pasta special with the truffles and the gnocchi with bolognese! Each dish had different flavors but delicious in their own category! We enjoyed a bottle of wine and at the end, a great foamed cappuccino. I did wish we were shown a dessert menu as we were never asked because we would have gotten dessert. The waitress did need to pay a bit more attention. So next time I hope to try dessert.
But all in all, it was a great meal!!!! I would go back.

A colleague and I stopped into Cosimo's for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon, and it was a treat!
We were seated promptly, and our waitress was there for our drink orders immediately, even though the restaurant was quite crowded.
We both opted for chopped salads, and they were fresh, ample portions, and with just the right amount of dressing. We ordered chicken breasts on the side, and they, too, were served hot, nicely seasoned, and very tender.
The noise level allowed us to carry on a good business conversation, even though tables around us were occupied. At the end of our meal, the waitress promptly cleared our dishes, asked if we wanted anything else (cappuccino!), and then presented the check.
They say "the best surprise is no surprise," and this business lunch was rock solid. We'll be back!

I don't know what was better, the food, the ambience or the view. This quaint little inn, right on the water, really made my day.

This is a fabulous place to eat. Tonite very frustrated waited 20 minutes to be asked what we would like to eat. Mind you there were 4 people standing around doing nothing. This place needs to get their act together. We weren't the only ones waiting to be served. I'll think twice about coming back to this place

If you are in Cornwall on Hudson, check out Painter's Tavern. Long established eatery with local folks and tasty offerings. Very relaxed atmosphere but great salads and burgers. Also, I like the focaccia with a side salad. Certainly not fast food and right in the middle of town with good parking or your can park anywhere and walk. Outdoor dining on the porch as well.
