We had the set menu including mainly fish and were not disappointed. Service is perfect and the owner is a pleasure to talk to. The outdoor Terrace we had dinner in was just fantastic, as it is the location. Good wine list with reasonable markup. All in all, a very pleasant dinner.

Our second visit to this quintessential Tuscan trattoria serving traditional dishes turned out to be as satisfying as our first a few years ago. Food remained the same - ribolitta, beef tartare with multiple herbs and ingredients mixed in front of you (a definite main event). This time we ordered 2 pastas 2 mains and one appetizers for the 3 of us. Because they have an almost equal emphasis on seafood as landfood, we ordered our prime and secondi from both sides. Turned out to be a good choice in contrast. The gamberoni carpaccio as an appetizer was most refreshing (A-). They also have a good selection of wines including multiple half bottles of decent vintages. An excellent feature for 2-3 people who do not wish to drink a whole bottle at lunch. We sat on the loggia right on the Plaza Arnoldo, the centre of town that reminded me of the old days. We were the only non-locals there but the owner and his wife took great care of us and spoke english.

My kids and I stopped here for lunch. We just wanted to take a break from the road. What a pleasant surprise! Excellent, reasonably priced food and charming service. Sergio is funny and understanding of travel and food choices with children . Molino Il Moro is an old Mill. You can see the stone Mills and old grinding equipment downstairs. Make sure to stop here as you explore Central Tuscany. The entire town is lovely and crowded with tourists, like Siena.

We were only in Colle Val D'Elsa for one night and decided on this place after we walked around town in the afternoon to see what all the places I had found good reviews for. It is set up a quiet alley and we were the first people there so got a table outside. It is only a small outside area which soon filled up - 2 tables filled by locals which is always a good sign (they appeared to know each other). I decided to try something different and ordered the quail which was very small when it came but tasty. My partner had the chicken cooked under a brick which I did end up pinching some of as mine was so small and it was very nice. We shared some roast potatoes which were fab and a salad. The waitress was very nice and even came to check that we didn't mind some red leaves in our green salad! We had house red wine which I recommend. It felt like an authentic Italian restaurant and not a tourist trap so if you lie that type of place then I recommend you pay it a visit.

What an unlikely place - situated in an ugly light industry part of this beautiful area of Tuscany but totally worth the going there for the great food. We turned up on a chill March Sunday lunch time, and goodness, we very glad we had booked earlier - the place was packed to the rafters and you could see why - robust, flavourful food with an emphasis on grilled meats. Delicious good value local wine. Highly recommended.

My partner and I stayed at the hotel it was in and dined their our first night. The food was so different and incredible that we ended up coming back two more times despite all the amazing Tuscan restaurants about. We even returned to celebrate our engagement! The food was incredible, well priced and the waiting staff were the most professional and polite people we had seen in a restaurant. They spoke every language under the son and didn't look twice when we were so impressed by the food we ordered two main meals on our last night! The indoor restaurant is quiet, intimate and nicely decorated and the outside part was astounding. Soft music plays in the background as you watch the sunset with candlelight. We will be returning on our honeymoon, hungry for more.

This is a typical family run Tuscany restaurant situated in the countryside of Colle Val d'Elsa. Their specialty is the wooden fire grilled Fiorentina steak. The meat is high quality and freshly cooked on the grill. The menu includes pasta, cold cut hams and cheese with honey and jam, they also have gluten-free dishes upon request. The prices are excellent for the quality food that is served. The service is very fast considering the restaurant is always full house. The restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday.

The restaurant is in a refurbished olive oil processing building, which still has some rooms and items from the old mill. We were able to compare white (fall) truffles with black (summer, etc) truffles – both dishes being prepared using the same very good tagliatelle pasta. Desserts and polpo antipasta were also very good. The lay-out of the tables in the restaurant were comfortable in that it was still not too loud for easy conversation at our table even with the old stone walls. Service was very friendly and capable as well.

One of first to arrive as very near to our hotel, Owner/chef gave us the spiel about the shared mixed starter platter. I was dubious but my wife wanted to try it. As usual she was right. It was absolutely delicious. We had 2 different pizzas which we shared. My wife is not really a pizza fan but even she thought they were the best she had ever had. Great meal and really good value

In the old Chapel of the ancient Hospital San Lorenzo, building of the 1635, the restaurant "Sopra le Mura" offers to our guests typical Tuscan cuisine with all the Chef fantasy. Our Maitre will be at your disposal to choose the right wine among a great selection of Italian wine.
We recently returned from a stay in Colle di Val dElsa and saved this dining experience for our last meal in town. We were not disappointed. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. Every dish served was explained and served with pride and knowledge of the ingredients and preparation. Prices were reasonable. We were very pleased to have chosen Sopra le Mura as our last dining experience while enjoying our Tuscan holiday.
