We had a most unpleasant meal at this restaurant tonight. The next table was crowded with 6 or 7 very drunk, loud and obnoxious diners. The management, and owner did absolutely nothing despite our repeated complaints and pleas to settle things down. During the meal we considered leaving several times and were fearful of what might happen in the restaurant or parking lot.
A very, very unpleasant experience when the owner of a restaurant will not even provide a safe and pleasant environment for his other diners.

We had the Chile Relleno picadillo and the Chile Relleno with huitlacoche (it’s a corn fungus that is a local delicacy. It tastes better than it sounds.) On a Friday night they had an excellent entertainer singing Mexican ballads. Service was friendly and prompt. The restaurant atmosphere is homey and unpretentious. Great value for the money.

My Mother in Law lives a few blocks away and for 15 years I've been making a right a block before this restaurant.
We went out for a late evening with another couple (2 Doctors) and met them at this restaurant on their recommendation.
I never knew or would have guessed that such a modern great restaurant was right under my nose all these years!!
We sat outside for our late night adventure and ordered drinks which were great.
To eat, we ordered a variety of plates and shared them. Every one was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. From duck to Grilled vegetables to a salad to a Mushroom dish and one other meat dish (sorry I don't remember)
I've tried duck twice and it's not for me, It was ordered and I said "Oh well, I'll try it again." It was SO good, I will order it again when I go back.
The service was attentive, friendly and quite professional and made the evening quite enjoyable.
If I close my eyes, I would swear that I was in a restaurant in Manhattan!!
Muchas Gracias!!!

Come and enjoy the ambiance and the gastronomy from Colima. We are located at the Provincial garden of the San Jose church in Colima city.
My first visit to Colima and the local host wanted me to try this restaurant first. The food was excellent featuring local cuisine, all the dishes were fresh and tasty. I tried the Palm juice which was a local drink, very interesting flavour. The restaurant was open on one side and with some fans it was still very comfortable, being open added to the ambience.

This restaurant was built with the architecture of a genuine Mexican atmosphere, They have dishes exclusive to the city and state of Colima and great cuts of tender beef. A must for the foreigner visiting this historical city is the salad bar, which you don't see in many restaurants in our area. Many residents and professional people as well as tourists come here for a wonderful meal, Mexican or International. Try their Mexican "Jericalla". It is a soft, light custard baked in it's own dish. Yummy! i would recommend this restaurant to any tourist for it's cleanliness, (women working there wear hairnets and white uniforms) and constant efficient service over the years.

We really enjoyed our time here on NYE. The service was fantastic and the food was very good. I thought the wine was a bit pricey for what it was, but the food was reasonably priced. We will definitely be going back again!

Wonderful breakfast/brunch restaurant hidden on a back street but easy to find. Great food, wonderfully prepared and presented. Interesting menu. Agreeable waitresses. Good prices. Beautiful surroundings, inside and out. I can't say a single negative about this place. Positives abound. Don't go to Colima without having breakfast or brunch at La Buena Vida. But be aware that it's very popular. I'd get there early.

Corazón Contento is a vintage style Eco-restaurant & Gallery, where we believe cooking is an art and as such, it goes far beyond the simple satisfaction of providing our body the primary nutrients. The type of cuisine that we propose in this new concept, is called "Comfort food"."Comfort food" is a relatively new term, and it aims to provide warmth and contentment to people that eats it. It refers to any food or drink, no matter their geographical origin, that is associated with moments of relaxation and reward. In other words it is "food for the soul"…Therefore, the main purpose of "Comfort Food” , is to give our day a delicious way to feed ourselves in the best mood.We are an Eco restaurant, since we are largely committed and concerned to make Corazón Contento friendly to the environment. We concern to conduct our practice in the best environmental stewardship theory described with the “3 R’s”: recycle, reduce and reuse. We are also a gallery; all our furniture and decoration as well as it help us create that vintage atmosphere we wanted, is on sale.
We only ordered appetizers and salads but they were very delicious. I'll definitely be going again to try a main dish.

The restaurant is approximately a 15 minute taxi ride from the historic Centro. Corner location set back from the street. Lots of space between the tables and the tables are oversized so not crowded for the dishes ordered. Started with decent martinis. The restaurant has a good wine list with many Mexican offerings (we shared a fine bottle of Canto de Luna from Ensanada). Three of us started with a Cesar salad. Good quantity with freshly made croutons. The lettuce leaves could have bee cooler IMO. For mains we had the Nostro Alredo, shrimp in a rich creamy sauce over noodles, a Spaghetti a la Bolognese and a Tartara de Atun. all were filling and tasty. The service (Spanish only) was very good, washrooms clean and credit cards accepted.
