We just visited J & B Meat Market on our way to Colorado. I am absolute sucker for a hole in the wall restaurant, and this one fit the bill. Located right off the I70, in a former gas station, it is an unassuming restaurant with very good food.
Our party of 7 enjoyed tenderloin sandwich, burgers, onion rings, fried pickles, and a variety of ice cream. The food was prepared fresh, and my kids just raved about their hamburgers.
My only complaint was the service we received. Goodness. We arrived about 30 minutes prior to closing (they close at 7) and they treated us like we were a total inconvenience. Get better and maybe smile some, we spent almost $75 for food and drinks and you are in the customer service business. Maybe their attitude was due to the fact that we don't live in Colby...
Oh well, good place to stop.

it's Starbucks, but not really. They can do everything Starbucks can do but redeem rewards?? They can give you your stars, sell all the products, donate part of the proceeds to the lady Gaga charity, but they can't/won't redeem rewards. I'm not buying it. And the Barrista was not exactly friendly about it either. Disappointing.

Just a quick stop and we purchased 2 doughnuts along our travels. The Cinnamon Bow Tie was very good and the simple plain doughnut was not greasy and had a good taste. The clerk was pleasant and the selection decent. Easy parking in front in a safe area.

We picked this restaurant based on the TripAdvisor reviews, which were very good. My wife was looking for something very light, and said, “I’m not hungry. I’d just like one egg, hash browns and toast.” The server said she could do that for her even though breakfast was not on the menu. She did not ask how much it would cost.
The waitress delivered an extra egg, extra toast, two slices of bacon and diced potatoes. My wife didn’t know why the server added the extra food, but felt the server was being nice. When we received our bill, we were charged $12.99 for something called, the “Sunday Special”. My first reaction was this was accidental. In retrospect, it felt like we were gouged. Maybe this is the Welcome Home Café, but you can count on us not coming back.

The daily specials are always good. Authentic great tasting food. Complimentary chips and salsa. Very good service. Inside the old Ramada Inn hotel - has a new name now. I recommend it for a good hot meal reasonably priced. Lots of free parking.

Home cooked meals always from scratch. Best soups in Kansas. Our steaks come directly from Dodge City Kansas, you can cut them with a fork!
We were staying at a hotel near by and went here for supper since there weren't too many choices in the area. We couldn't have been any happier. My husband had a steak and I had a burger and both were DELICIOUS! They also offer a lovely soup and salad bar which came with the meal at no extra charge. We were also there during happy hour so I was able to get a Goose Island IPA draft for only $2 ( so I had 2!) The bartender was very friendly. I only wish we lived closer so we could go more often.

Restaurant selections in Colby are few and I could find none open for breakfast except Village Inn other than a nice donut shop with decent, inexpensive coffee but no food other than pastries. I only had breakfast at the Village Inn (a veggie omelette) but the menu selections were typical of franchised Interstate exit restaurant chains. Price was average, serving was large and well presented but everything I got was fried. The pancakes included margarine, not butter, fake maple syrup, not the real thing. The same sort of fare you would expect at other chain restaurants such as Denny's, IHOP, etc. filling but not particularly healthy. Good service, average prices and decent quality. Their 'specialty' is pies and they looked very good.

We have eaten here several times over the years and always enjoyed it. This time was a bit of a let-down. Some of the dishes were still quite good, but several were less than satisfying. For example, the peeler shrimp were of good size and very fresh, but the cocktail sauce was not very good. General Tsao's Chicken seemed to have a watery sauce on it that was not really tasty. The black pepper chicken was almost tasteless.
Hopefully this was just an off night. We will stop again to give them another chance because they have been very good over the years.

Greasy and awful tacos in a really dirty room. The only thing I liked there was the fact they had jalapenos in the salsa bar.

This restaurant is a diamond in the rough. We have tried virtually every restaurant in Colby and have not been pleased with any of them. Twisters looks suspect from the outside but inside the food is outrageously good. They have daily specials that are relatively cheap but very delicious. I had their hamburger tonight with the best fries ever. I ordered Rocky Mountain oysters and gizzards as take out. The best I've ever had.
