Jack Mason's Tavern is a quaint, European-style pub located in down town Clifton Forge, VA. They open daily at 11am, serving both lunch and dinner. Jack's has recently build a brewery on sight and will be featuring their own craft beer on tap by the end of October, 2017. The tavern is a family friendly restaurant and even has a game room where you can shoot pool or play a video game. So come on down to Clifton Forge - we'll see you at JMT!
We visited Jack Mason’s a couple of days before I had to fly back to Washington State. We always try to stop by and have a meal here when we are in the area since my wife knows that I love this restaurant.
Food and service are always excellent. I highly recommend the fried pickles and the fish and chips.

We use to love this place, but the food is not the same as it was!! The bacon cheeseburger was homemade and delicious but it has changed!! It's a frozen pattie now....such a shame! The homemade food is gone so I would suggest you go elsewhere for a better meal!

Particularly friendly Dairy Queen location. Cake case usually stocked for pick up. Location has been in the same place for years, now with better parking and a little more seating. The old mural of the trains and The Daily Review is gone, however.

I was dying to come here since the place opened, but I don't live in Virginia! Finally stopped in for breakfast, and OH MY GOODNESS!!! Incredible, HUGE breakfast (couldn't even finish it!) and just about the best coffee I've ever had! We even picked up some goodies to take home! The eclairs are the best I've ever had anywhere! The other baked goods are also delicious. The home baked bread, pepperoni rolls/loaves, pimento cheese sandwiches...there is nothing bad on the menu, which keeps expanding every week, seemingly based on customer input! Now that's the way to give your customers what they want to keep them coming back!
Sweet Magnolias Bakery is nothing fancy, just a super friendly staff and great food! Linda, the owner, makes it a point to say hello to each of her guests, and it makes you feel like a regular, even if you're from out of town! I went back several times during my stay in the area. What more could you want?? That's what you want a local, hometown cafe to be! And I'll definitely be back!

What a friendly place! And interesting and good menu selections. Perhaps the choices are not as healthy as they can be, but the salad bar was good (fresh tomatoes from their garden!) and grilled prime rib was excellent. The service quite exceeded any and all expectations. I plan to go back as soon as I can.

We knew of this restaurant and its wonderful reviews but were hesitant to drive the 40 minutes from Lexington... thank goodness we did! Everything we had was delicious— pumpkin soup and mussels to start, corvina and chicken piccata entrees, topped off with Chef Michel’s homemade Neopolitan ice cream cake for dessert. Simply divine! Plus, Chef Michel greeted us personally, and the service was wonderful. A+++++++

Located in an old drugstore in downtown Clifton Forge! We offer a wide lunch menu with Boar's Head meats & cheeses and homemade deli salads, soups & desserts. In our shop you will also find a unique gift shop, a fine wine corner and the friendliest staff you will ever meet!
Our party of seniors and former Clifton Forge residents lunched here after visiting a local cemetery. We all had a great time in what used to be the old drug store. Our service was very attentive and we felt like honored guests. This small restaurant is quiet which was a big plus for our hearing impaired folks, and we had ample time to study the menu and ask questions about the selections. We were able to have a relaxing time to catch up on old times and memories.
Nice updates on old favorite dishes with beautiful plating. The only complaint our guests had was that there wasn't enough chicken in the cashew chicken salad. Do not miss the fresh baked cookies, and they will even warm one up for you!
Handicapped accessible but there is only one bathroom. Go across the street to the old Rucklands which is now an antique mall.
I saw several people picking up to go orders, so if you are sightseeing keep this restaurant in mind.

The food at 42 Deli is delicious! I have eaten inside the restaurant and have enjoyed a catered meal too. Recently, our workplace provided a catered lunch from the deli, and that meal was superb! We had a nice variety of subs, but the salad was out-of this-world! Most places just have lettuce and a couple of vegetables. The salad from 42 Deli contained lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, squash, and broccoli. Very good and healthy! They also had pickles, chips, and a nice variety of dressings, along with some delicious cookies for dessert. If you need an event catered, I would highly recommend them.

Nice meal. Decor was fair. Had the lasagna which was very tasty but the sauce a bit too runny and smothered in a little too much cheese. Once past the cheese it had good flavor. Bread and salad were very good

A true bakery/coffee house. This is a new establishment, gaining a positive reputation - like when the place you had lunch says go to the Tiny Italian Bakery for dessert and coffee - it has to be good. Worth the travel.
Full disclosure - the owner is a school mate of mine, though we are separated by quite a few years.
