This is my favorite Chilton Co. restaurant. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is amazing. I've had so many good dishes there that I have a hard time deciding which one to order when I go. The chef creates everything from scratch, and this adds a unique quality to the food. If I had a complaint, it would be that I wish bread was included with the entrees. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, but it would add a lot and make the meal more complete.

This was recommended to us by a local. We're so glad we headed to her suggestion to stop in. The homemade peach ice cream topped with fresh peaches was to die for! We also purchased fresh peaches which we enjoyed with our breakfast the remainder of our trip. If you're in the area late July - early August you're in perfect luck for everything peach.
There are cute t-shirts, souvenirs and lots of peach products. You can also purchase fresh tomatoes, strawberries, melons and other produce as in season.
Cute little stop that we hope to enjoy again someday.

We have eaten here twice. Both times, our meals have been delicious. From the free bread and oil appetizer to the delicious homemade cakes. I have had the Basil Tomato Soup, Mushroom Ravioli, and the Calzones. The food always tastes fresh and always delicious. They also serve espresso/coffee drinks. The cafe is small and quaint and there's usually a line waiting to get in. (They accept reservations.) After dinner, there are numerous desserts to select from..... their Strawberry Cake appears to be the most popular and 1 slice is a PLATE FULL. You will have enough left to take home, and if not, they sell many kinds of homemade cakes, whole or by the slice. Some people come in just to buy their cakes. This is my current favorite Italian restaurant...and worth the 45 mile drive.

I always stop in to Heaton's when driving to the Gulf Coast beaches. Nice light lunches such as chicken salad sandwich or plate with sides. Great homemade candies made with their fresh pecans...chocolate covered, pralines, candied, white chocolate covered, divinity, etc....pecans by the lb and pecan meal (ground)?for pecan crusted fish. Good selection of hand dipped ice cream too! Oh, it's a nice bathroom stop too and a gas station next door...one stop off I-65 for it all. It's a family tradition.....

We travel along I-65 quite a lot and like to find gems like this. I had a Rib-eye and baked potato with a salad. Wife had Bourbon Chicken. Both were fantastic. The Fried Green Tomatoes to start were also some of the best we've ever had. Two 12 year old boys also enjoyed it very much.
Will definitely go here again next time traveling through.

Lunch time passing by on the interstate, and we decided to try Hickory Chip based on good ratings.
Pretty crowded, but we were seated promptly in the front room. The servers were nice, and very prompt.
I ordered rib plate with onion rings, and my wife ordered fried catfish with fries. The catfish was good, but fillets were too thick at the big end, so didn't get cooked through. The thin end was perfect. The "smoked" ribs were terrible....no sauce, no rum, no smoked color....just a dull gray color with an odd taste. BBQ sauce helped them a bit. Onion rings were soggy, fries were the "coated" variety.
Didn't much care for our lunch.

Love their burgers. We waited on lunch for hours to get a whataburger today as we were in the road. Service was a little slow but super friendly. Bathroom needed attention and one door is missing the latch. Food however was excellent as usual!

My son and I drove an hour on a rare off day just to do Shoneys. Was as good as I remembered from the days when Tuscaloosa had two Shoneys. Miss those days. Tiffany was excellent. Glasses never went empty. Dirty dishes were removed promptly without having to ask. Bar staff was attentive to quality contro l and keeping food stocked and hot. Everything was very clean including the restroom. All employees on task and not a one on their cellphones...what a nice change of pace that was.

A great place to eat on Main Street. Very pleasantly surprised at this great little place. I had a vegetable plate which was very good. I was not impressed with the chocolate pudding but there was no additional charge for this. Great location. Open 7 days a week. I will certainly be back.
