Having a house in Umbria we were introduced to this retaurant by a friend 5 years ago.
Slightly ticked away on a business park, this is certainly not an establishment you'll suddenly stumble upon, but once you've found it we think you'll find it unbeatable.
The fixed price lunch @14 euros (including wine, water and coffee) is exceptional value served in a large atmospheric room with efficient and friendly service. The owners are all very much in evidence, working the tables like the true professionals they are.
At weekends in the evening the same room transforms itself into the Sesto Canto restaurant by clever changing of the decor, lighting and table settings. The pizzas are to die for,and the pastas and meat dishes are of a high standard, even for this region.
A first class, family run restaurant, which is our favourite of the many we enjoy in the Northern Umbria/Eastern Tuscany region.

We went there in June twice and both visits where great. If in Citta Di Castello and you are there for even one meal then this is the place you should eat. Pasta Carbonara made at the table. Fresh Ravioli with a very lite fresh tomato sauce. The antipasto first and pasta plus a liter of the house wine (excellent) sent us away fully satisfied. Total cost 42 euros.(for two). Highly recommend "Vineria Del Vasaio"

Lovely chilled lunch at a typical little Italian cafe right opposite the Cathedral. Great atmosphere and lovely friendly staff who made us feel very very welcome. Our poor Italian wasn't a problem either as the hostess spoke enough English to make us comfortable. Food was...MoreGrazie

A remarkably refined restaurant. Two dishes were simply outstanding -- a watermelon gazpacho soup and a spelt pappardelle pasta with pine nuts on an eggplant sauce. The menu is now full on Fall -- different mushrooms and truffles as well. Service warm, considerate and excellent. Prices quite moderate. Good wines by the glass. This restaurant deserves far greater attention but it is sort of buried in the back of the Hotel Tiferno -- which is itself another gem...

We've eaten here several times over the past five years and always had a successful evening. This latest visit was no exception. Situated in a quiet corner beneath the beautiful round bell tower of the Cathedral, L'Accademia feels authentic in its ambience and in its characterful yet unstuffy architecture/decor. Good food and especially friendly, attentive service really made our night. Choice for vegetarians is a confined to a couple of well-executed pasta dishes but the meat-eaters were particularly impressed with their orders, ranging from curried chicken to "tagliatelle" (strips) of beef. L'Accademia manages to be both polished and relaxed - it's a place we'll always hope to come back to.

We stumbled upon this little place and were thrilled. While it is small and a little noises, the food was off the charts. The beef with porcini literally melted in my mouth. The lasagna was great, the bruschetta was wonderful, the wine list was good.
Highly recommend

Enjoyed a delicious dinner at this small, cozy restaurant. Fills up fast to make sure you make Reservations. Had a mixed plate appetizer followed by ravioli and then pistachio crusted grilled lamb chops and mixed grilled vegetables topped off by a pineapple "carpaccio" with cinnamon and ice cream. Gloria is an outstanding waitress - very friendly and informative. Would definitely return and recommend.
