Not sure why this place does not show up on near me option you have to google it to find it on trip advisor. Its right next door to the hotel. Anyway!!! Great fun spot! Awesome food margareetas could be bigger for the price but the beers were still 2 bucks. Great outside large patio with TV showing Monday Night American football and some lame soccer games.

Located on top a hill near La Arena.Superb view of the Pacific Ocean and the surrounding countryside.Open from 4pm to Midnight. Vast menu, with seafood,Lobster is $12 dollars,Octopus,$6.00 and more seafood to choose from!<br>CHicken frito for $4.00 and ceviches for only $3.00 Drinks are 75 centavos----The telephone number is 974 4647 and Reservations are not required. However, weekend nights tend to be quite busy. A taxi from Chitre is about $1.65 to $2.00 at night. Bon Appetit
This was our 4th time at this location but the 1st time it was actually open. It has become our new discovery to replace Los Alacranes (our former favorite that has decayed).
The location shown on the map is TOTALLY inaccurate! the actual location is to the West. You go on the Circunvalacion de Chitre direction to La Arena and when you see it is going uphill you will see some extremely nice white homes on your right (mansions actually), any of those 3 roads is fine as long as you exit the Circunvalacion and go up hill to reach the restaurant at the top of the hill next to an IDAAN building.
The location is superb a panoramic view of the town of Chitre (head of Herrera) where you can even see the sea some kilometers away. Perhaps it is better for dinner before darkness sets in so that you can take a breathtaking view.
Service was okay but terribly slow (have heard that is a big problem with them), took 45 minutes for our 2 plates to be served! Other than that service was okay and friendly.
The menu is varied with lots of seafood at good prices (around $7.50/plate) the only exception were the shrimps which at $10.50 were way overprized given fresh sea food is extremely easily available due to the vicinity of the sea. Other than that any plate is fine and will surely leave you satisfied.
We will surely return given we no longer desire to go to our former favorite due to their drop in price/quality.

I have known this restaurant for years as it was introduced to me by my parents. It may be a bit difficult to find at night but basically you take the Circumvalating Road that goes around the outskirts of Chitre which would be to your left when coming from La Villa, then it goes downhill and and then when it turns right again watch for the gas station and Chitre Transport Terminal, you should take that road and go up that road. The restaurant will be around the 2nd or 3rd road to the left on a small side road that leads to it.
The menu is varied and the seafood is VERY fresh. Whatever you choose you can't have it wrong. It is not gourmet but it has very reasonable prices (around $10/person max.), it's fresh and healthy. Easy to accompany with a cold beer. For example the Fish sticks ("deditos de pescado") are not of the frozen kind, they are self made from fresh fish. You can also have whole fish, etc. Make sure to accompany it with "patacones" (fried plaintain) and/or fried Yuca.
You will be served by the owners most of the times which are very polite and recognize recurring clients (very few restaurant attendants in Panama do that) which kind of gives it the personal touch.
Whenever I am around this area I always come to this restaurant for dinner, just can't get tired of it. At night please wear trousers if you don't want to be bothered by mosquitoes, not many but hey, it is the tropics.

Ate here two nights during a visit over Semana Santa. Tried the ribs, the lomo, and the fish ... and can highly recommend the first two (the fish was only mediocre). Also, avoid the mozzarella stick appetizer, which was disappointing. Service was wonderful both evenings, with both young waiters speaking very good English, making good recommendations, and on the second night offering us special "juice" (beer, that is) during the normally dry days of Semana Santa.

Mexican-American Food
I have eaten here three times this past month. Also had burgers at the old location. Each time the burger is exactly as ordered. MEDIUM RARE, WARM BUM. This is important to me. I have eaten twice at the supposed #1 burger restaurant between Chitre...MoreThanks Amigo ! You´re always more than Welcome to La Frankeria !

I visit this restaurant every couple of months when I am in the mood for Chinese food and haven't been to Panama City for awhile. The food is short of average and sometimes the order seems like it had been prepared the day or two ahead of time. I generally stick with the brocolli/pork or a chicken dinner.
Limited beverage selection.

Today I decide it was time to check out this new eatery. A nice Valentine’s Day present for my special valentine…
Restaurante Gastro Rincon is only open for breakfast and lunch. There are only seven tables inside which gives the place a clean, cozy atmosphere. There was no one available to greet us so we just sat ourselves.
The server brought us menus and the chef/owner came out to welcome us personally. The special of the day was Dorado (fish) served with mashed potatoes and salad. I ordered the special and my wife ordered the chicken alfredo. The appetizer was garlic bread, server warm and fresh. Both meals included a drink and came with ice cream for dessert.
Both meals were delicious! The Alfredo sauce was smooth and creamy with just the right amount of cheese in it. The chicken was cubed into perfect bite size pieces. The Dorado was fresh and grilled to perfection. It was served with mashed potatoes that were made from scratch. The salad was fresh lettuce and tomatoes with a light dressing on top. The juice tasted like it was freshly made in the kitchen too.
All of this for just $15. We were very pleased with our adventure here today. We could eat for less and often do (it is easy to find a meal for both of us for $5 - $7 at a Fonda) but not of this quality, service, and ambiance. This was also a romantic lunch… it is Valentine’s Day.
As this restaurant is close to our house, we will be back. Come see us there ...

Normally here in Chitré we have temperatures in the range of 88 – 93 degrees Fahrenheit (31 – 33 degrees Celsius). But today it reached 95 degrees (35 C) so we thought we deserved a blizzard too.
Fortunately there is a Dairy Queen that opened here last year. So we drove to our weather saving DQ to get our blizzards… Oreo Cookie, large size! If you have to suffer through a blizzard it might as well be a “big one”.
Dairy Queen here in Panama is growing in popularity. There are now almost twenty locations serving blizzards and other ice cream treats. Service is friendly and efficient. Every DQ we have been in is clean and well taken care of.
Products include: Blizzard®, Chili Dogs, the much liked Banana Split, Moolates, and Hot Dogs, are on the menu at this new DQ restaurant.
So if you are tired of shoveling snow in your blizzard area, than come enjoy eating a cold blizzard here in Panama…
Buen Provecho,

WE offer american style food, Burgers, Pizza, Wings, Sandwiches,Quesadillas, Potato Skins, ChiliCheese Fries,MilksShakes, and Deserts We are located on the Main rd 1 mile south of McDonalds heading towards Las Tablas just before the Los Santos Bridge on the left leaving Chitre
Jimmy knows how to make a real hamburger and his quesadillas and nachos are good too. Best bean sauce ever! He's a real baseball enthusiast and can fill you in on where and when the games are which is fantastic for tourists as it's hard to find the local information.

Ate in the restaurant just after arriving from Panama City. It all looked dull including the bar which was also deserted. The food (ceviche and calamari) were average. The waitress was eager to please and there was a fair choice of wine.
