A group of 7 of us dined here while traveling in Panama for business. The atmosphere was formal, yet comfortable. The food was memorable, but the grounds were breath-taking. One of our travel companions knew to arrive before our reservation to afford us time to enjoy the natural beauty of the property before dinner.

Panoramic views, a crackling fireplace and an outdoor wooden deck beside a garden overlooking the Palo Alto River, sets a cozy and uncomplicated atmosphere to enjoy a fabulous meal. We serve down to earth, bistro-style, comfort food! We believe the enjoyment of food is a fundamental part of life.
Beautiful restaurant, excellent ambiance. We came on Monday when they had live music. We had the ribs, I'm not sure whether it's Panama or The Rock that has a strange perspective on ribs. They were tender, but if you want a fatty mess, have the...MoreDear Mr. Larry: Thank you very much for taking the time to send us your comments and recomnendations, we will share them with our chef and staff to ensure that both, our dishes and service, are always satisfactory. Il Pianista looks a bit suspect from the outside. Located right next to farm-worker housing, and down a short rocky path, one might be tempted to drive on by, but that would be a mistake. Guests should park on the shoulder of the road and walk down the short slope to the entry stairs. Once inside, you will be transported to an idyllic spot with very fresh and well prepared food. There is a lovely waterfall, flanked by blooming flowers of every sort, right next to the restaurant. They have wisely taken advantage of the view with the table arrangement and even outdoor lighting for night time viewing. It is charming and adds a lovely and romantic component tot he dining experience.
The owners live above the restaurant. He is from Sicily and she, Brenda, is Panamanian. It is a family affair with their talented sons sharing duty between the kitchen and the wood-fired pizza oven.It is a warm and welcoming place. Return visitors are treated like long-lost friends.
On our last visit we devoured the excellent Ensalada Pianista and the Eggplant Rollatini appetizer. The salad's balsamic dressing, redolent of shallots and sun-dried tomatoes, i so good I was tempted to buy some to take back to our vacation house for later enjoyment. I ordered the Pasta with Camarones (Shrimp) and my only regret was that I could not eat it all. My sister ordered the fresh tuna special and it was without a doubt the best tuna I have ever eaten in a restaurant. The preparation was light and innovative, unlike anything I have ever eaten before. The tuna was cooked PERFECTLY and we quite literally wiped up every speck of sauce with our third basket of homemade bread.
The pizza, ordered with spinach, mushrooms, onions and olives, was also excellent. The crisp, wafer-thin crust was adorned with just a hint of tasty sauce and just the right amount of house made cheese. The fresh toppings were allowed to shine and we left not a single crumb.
There are less expensive places to dine in Boquete, but there are few that are any better.

An authentic pizzaiolo that decided to pack his bags and enjoy a more relaxed setting. In the small town plaza you find Naturalmente Pizza, quaint small place. The pizza amazingly good, very thin crust, home made tomato sauce and only best ingredients.

A very cozy restaurant offering quality Panamanian and Mexican fusion food. Very Economic prices. Delicious fajitas, quesadillas, tacos and our famous burritos, to accompany your meals- we offer horchata, margaritas, beer, juice and delicious desserts. We speak English and Spanish fluently.
I've eaten here a couple of times and the food was excellent. I was surprised to find a Mexican food restaurant in Volcan, and pleasantly surprised at how good the food was.
Hot and tasty, and the burrito must weigh 3 lbs. I'll be returning with friends in the future.

We guarantee a unique esperience that you will never forget
We came here for the good reviews and left very happy. Service was good, food takes a bit more than usually in a restaurant but it's delicious. Great quality of ingredients, good portions and fair prices. The snapper with coconut and curry sauce was one of the best fishes I've ever tried. The meat was also really good. We enjoyed our time here very much with lovely jazz music in the background. It would be great if the restaurant opens in the future an outdoor Terrace to enjoy the surroundings while having a lovely meal.
They have a new address in Volcan so be sure to call beforehand. At the time we write this review, the google maps address is wrong.
